      Well done, Lisa to do a baby jacket find a plain single crochet pattern and simply do the loop stitch instead of single crochet. Remember and do single crochet at each end to keep the seam straight and make any sewing easier.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  2 года назад +1

      I didn't do a cardigan at the time baby clothes were too small and make my hands hurt, If you have a plain pattern for a cardigan then just change the plain stitch to a loop stitch start the loops on your 2nd stitch in from the edge so you can sew you cardigan seam up if you have to.

      if you want to make a tiny one stop at round 4 this will make a prem baby size. For every other size up from that add 2 rounds increasing the number of single trebles between each increase.

      Thank you. If you have baby patterns try using hooks a size or 2 smaller that way you can do your fav baby pattern to fit your doll as reducing the hook size will reduce the hat size. Great for patterns that dont have the smaller size you might be looking for

      Have a look at how I make the loop. My sisters kept going loose but she was winding the yarn the opposite way to me. She doesn't live near me so I told her to slow the video down you can do this in the settings under the video, click on an icon that looks like a spikey cog. you will find an option to slow it down. Then try and crochet along. I hope this works for you.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  4 года назад

      3 - 6 months. If you do 1 less round on the back the hat will be much smaller also using a smaller hook will make the hat smaller. this also applies if you do 1 or 2 extra rounds on the back and extra around the body this will make it bigger.

    why does my hat come out so big

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  5 лет назад

      Felicia, it could be your tesnsion or they yarn your using. Try a smaller size hook, drop down one full size of hook and try that. You can just do 8 treble crochet into the hole right at the begining when you chain 4 and slip stitch it into a ring. If you know what I mean. If you start with 8 trebles on 1 round. The second round is do 2 trebles into each stitch so you will have 16 stitches at the end of round 2 and so on. That way you will have less stitches so your hat will be smaller. I hope this helps.

    Terrible pattern supposed to be a circle ,was like the mourne mountains.I don’t know how she got her circle flat too many stitches added too quickly.So disappointed just ripped it out.Spent time learning to do loops just 😞😧😬

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  2 года назад

      The way the circle is done is the way it is done in all the stitch books and a lot of the patterns I have and the back always is flat, maybe you need a smaller hook, Patricia that might solve your problem. Maybe your tension is slacker than mine.
