@@MountainsArePretty1234 Dad always kept two revolvers in his closet when I was young. At a young age he showed them to me in case anybody ever broke into the house and I needed to defend myself. He also told me that they were never to be touched or messed with under any other condition. I always knew they were there but never had a want or need to use them.
Everything my father had that I should not touch was in that closet. There was no lock on it, I was just taught better. I always knew and respected my fathers decision on this. It was not that hard to figure out.

yes, I'm sure if there is a mass shooter they will wait for Dan to get off the couch, head outside to get his gun, punch in the number on the safe and go back into the house before they start shooting. They generally like to give people time to defend themselves.
Lonely, sad, disgruntled teenagers are the folks who tend to become mass shooters (given easy access to weapons) and the revolving door of extended family at the Connor house would provide a perfect opportunity for the right kind of kid to use Dan’s gun. I believe that is the logic of buyback programs: fewer unattended weapons in the world for sad kids to access.

They originally wanted Roseanne and the late great Sam Kinison to play Peg and Al Bundy. So Roseanne got screwed over twice.
This episode was a slap in the face to responsible gun owners and totally opposite of what Roseanne stood for. Bad enough she was thrown under the bus. Let's face it, the show is so far from what she would have done and Sara Gilbert will never fill her shoes. Thank God for my dvds of the true Roseanne show. I hope the ratings reflect the truth

Pathetic. I knew it was going to be stupid when the show opened with a warning about gun violence. Most episodes glorify drug use, alcohol, lies and casual sex (nothing wrong with that...but its just constant on the show)
This show last night showed the grand-daughter stealing the gun and then illegally selling it. This sets a horrible example for kids to think its ok to do this. It was not a "gutsy decision"......it was not her firearm (is the character even old enough to own one?).
The Connors live in Chicago and we all know how violent that crappy city is with gun violence. Yes it would be horrible to see the neighbors criminal act on the news or even in real life...but the show directed the attention away from crime and focused on Dan owning a gun (he legally owned it and he even locked it up...although that was even turned into a joke).
This show needs to immediately make a follow-on show of how stupid it was for Harris to steal it and sell it (even if it was to the police...it was still theft).
Real kids may see this idiotic hollywood depiction of a "gutsy decision" and think this is fine to do. It is not...and the police WILL be happy to slap cuffs on kids and ruin their lives over this.
We must show how to control crime and criminals...not how to disarm legal gun owners or pushing this unwarranted fear of guns that hollywood loves to show.

In a perfect world a person should not have to won a gun to feel safe....and owning a firearm will not make a person immune to crime. But car insurance does not make a person immune from car accidents or theft. Some areas and living situations may almost dictate a need for self defense (mainly if you have kids/etc to protect) .. 3. My person views on gun ownership is based on my own life experience, just as everyone's choices should be. I spent well over 2 decades in the Army. I deployed and was in nations that allowed their own people to have AK-47s (automatic, not the semi-auto that our government tries to force on Americans). If me and millions of Americans have went to foreign nations to give them or support their rights to do this stuff...then why should we come home to an unarmed life if we dont want that? 4. The beauty of rights in America is the option to use it or not. For example, I carry when I can (and keep a permit even though my state does not require a permit to carry) yet I dont look down on others that choose not to carry or own guns. I choose not to attend church, but do not pass judgement on others that do go to some form of worship, just as long as they do not force their views or practices on others. I vote and encourage others to learn the issues and vote (just dont be a low-info voter) even if they don't vote for the candidates I may support.

Im sorry, but I disagree with your opinion. This episode tried to tackle a very delicate topic . It’s not like “Shameless” where the show would’ve been a hour long and the writing was a little better . This is a comedy series on network television. Which means, that over a dozen producers have to re-edit and approve a script before episode production. So even if the show wanted to dive deeper into this issue, then the network would eventually have to approve everything beforehand. By the way, the video only said that Harris made a “ gutsy decision “ because Louise said that what she did was gutsy. The video was labeled this way, so it will get people clicking on the video ( clickbait) .

Omg, honestly to me it was a show of its own.. I wanted to look at it slowly, from the feet up. It was soooo full of the character, and for some reason, I felt Rosanne in it too.. I just loved everything about it, and it filled me with emotions..

NOT A HATE MESSAGE! Just my opinion. I think the writing is really bad, season 1 was however better than seasons 9-10 (and maybe 8 of Roseane) but s2-5 lacks clever jokes, politics well inserted into the scenarios, depth and character development. I think Laurie Metcalf and John Goodman are the only good actors in The Conners. Sara Gilbert has really regressed and was much better as a child on Roseane. The Becky actress feels forced and doesn't deliver her lines well. Emma Kenney is honestly a bad actress and brings no nuance to her character, she was fine as a child on Shameless but as a teenager her acting got bad. I suppose that sometimes happens to child actors

This is so sad. This show was always about real-life families and the hardships they face. I absolutely loved it because it was relatable to mine and the majority of its viewers' lives. But, this new one only reflects the opinions of the Hollywood elite and serious minority of people in America. TV and movies have just gotten where it's really hard to find anything truly entertaining that doesn't contain some SJW message that is out of touch with the real world. I respect their beliefs, and I would never silence any of them, but please stop messing with the entertainment part of our world. Jackie had it right; you can't escape it anywhere, so they should listen to their own message.

I'm a fan of The Conners! Replacing the Rosanne reboot is a hard act to follow, but for the most part, they've done it. With that being said...Tonight's episode was horrible!! The choice is your's people!! You can choose to be disarmed and rely on the government to protect you and your loved ones, or you can take THAT responsibility yourself. We live in a great country, with many opportunities for everyone. Unfortuneately, there are times when ugliness and dangerous situations are afoot. You can cower or you can defend. You can be a sheep or a sheepherder. Someone has to fend off the wolves.

They ruined the show when they kicked off THE OG, ROSEANNE!! I can’t even watch a show that used to my favorite growing up! Sara Gilbert was given an opportunity when she was cast in the original Roseanne and for her to do what she did to Roseanne was just pitiful! I’ve been watching Roseanne, Seasons 1-10 on Peacock! I’ll never watch THE CONERS! I never liked that actress that lays Harris! She is not a very good actress and I’m surprised she’s lasted this long! I wish they could maybe bring back Roseanne! You know, maybe write it in where Roseanne was having surgery, and all this happened while she was under the knife or something!like she’s dreaming this up! I don’t know!
This is like slavery for actors.
They should make a reboot of Shameless, called the Gallaghers!!!

You know it's not the guns it's unfortunately reckless people not understanding how important owning a firearm and operating a firearm actually is and you just don't take a firearm from somebody and turn it into the police they don't do that and if they do talk about a really really really really really really really historic amendment going down the shiter and no offense this episode sux.
what does make up the difference mean
Chances are if you have a gun in the house you are much more likely to find it was used to accidentally shoot someone or was stolen by a child and used to shoot someone than to find that you are able to use it to defend yourself or to prevent a crime. I can acknowledge that people who have significant training vis a vis safety and keep their guns locked in safes or with trigger locks have less risk, and that people in high crime areas might have more justification, but we need to acknowledge that people with kids have significantly higher risk of having that gun used to hurt someone unjustifiably. How to tease out who should have a gun for self defense and who should not is pretty simple. It is probably fine if only mature adults live in the house and kids never visit, if you know how to handle a gun safely and keep it locked up.
I bet you guys hate that pesky 2nd ammendment. It makes it really hard to accomplish your agenda huh.

I guess looking at these comments, many of u don’t understand the concept of making a difference! Harris selling that gun may not change everything overnight but, it’s a start!
Also, about what the conners faced watching the guy getting shot on tv, and before he got shot, there are really some bad crazy people out in this world still!

Disarming an innocent person is not a good thing. He kept it away safe many Americans do that and it’s fine. When you take guns away from people like Dan only criminals have them and then what are you gonna do call the cops by then you can easily be shot and murdered the cops come after a crime
He should have at least gone down to the police station and got his gun back. Presumably he had it while his kids were growing up. Why is it such a danger now?
I don't think he could get that gun back it's been somewhat legally purchased by the police so it's not in their policy to return it. In this day and age responsibility and good sense has been replaced by quick judgments and undiagnosed mental health problems. Dan's problem in this household is not upgrading his safety systems to keep certain individuals away from the gun.
@@HAWKEYE21343 Maybe. Based on past episodes, Dan knows some of the local cops. There's a fair chance he could just undo the sale. Worst case he could report it stolen, which it was. As for security, he just needed to update his combination lock.
A theft of a firearm is a crime. Actually the Police department now has purchased stolen goods. This would make her a felon. Very dumb example to show.
It's not a danger at all. Just a bunch of liberal producers, directors, and writers trying to lecture us law abiding, responsible gun owners. Trying to shame us. It's ridiculous really.
