Well, the RAW mobile photography was around for so many years and it's genuine impressive how much you can do with your smartphone. BUT there still no video RAW control over 99,9% of the phones out there. Only the LG V series have this on the entire world. I hope that some day the other manufacturers do it aswell.
If you shoot at a level where RAW Video is required you will have more professional equipment. I don't think casual filmers (i.e. people that use phones to film) will color grade their footage afterwards.
Let aside the phone. I am amazed by how absolutely beautiful London is looking. I have been to all places but feels like I am seeing it for first time.!!
From experience, only during daylight! At nighttime, in general, phones process it better than what the average PROFESSIONAL can do with photoshop/lightroom.
@@Samosayummyyay this is total rubbish. RAW photos are better 100% of the time. The only reason it is not standardized in smartphone photography is that it almost always requires additional editing afterwards editing due to not being compatable with HDR; and it takes a ton of space (16mb per photo). The nature of raw images is that it is able to capture details in extremely bright and dark conditions so once adjusting the exposure after the picture is taken, you will get a much better, more detailed image. It might be somewhat grainy, but that is due to it being uncompressed. Personally I think grain in photos look good anyways.

@@alankritgaur all phones are different but generally you have to go onto pro mode and go into camera settings and select "save RAW copy". You may have to dig around for it though. Something like that. This is how it is for Samsung. Older smartphones may not have this feature though..
I won't even buy a phone for the next 2 or 3 years but I subscribed to your channel because by God, this was a very, very well made video. You've put in so much effort for this and I absolutely loved the phone's capabilities... Kudos, buddy ☺️
People were saying this is 2018 phone, but after watching this video I think its 2020 phone
Some cameras have raw mode this is not new. His editing is just good
@@fightnight14 But not all cameras give as much as detail and dynamic range and depth as Nokia 9
They say it's a 2018 one because of the older Snapdragon 845 processor, while all other new Flagships have got the new 855. They have developed this phone with the older one and it would be too much work to do it for the new one.
Can't agree more
GaurangGP Patkar There is no test that confirms this. This video definitely doesn't show it because one needs to compare noise when you test dynamic range. From what I have seen, the low-light raw files of the Nokia 9 will be surely worse than raw files from other phones
Ugh. Phone aside, thanks for reminding me why I need to visit London someday.
I live here it's not that good it's a dirty city for the most part

@@helloitsme1785 honeslty i live here as well, it is dirty of course. But compared to a lot of other countries in the world this country is really, really clean. I can't argue with you about the crime rate though. But, at least there's not many gun crimes and not many guns and the emergency services are pretty well responsive. Hey! Please do a camera comparison between Mate 20 Pro, S10 plus, Pixel 3 XL, iPhone XS max and The Nokia 9 PureView
Unedited pics? Probably Pixel or XS, but when it comes to post production, edited pics, Pureview is just out-of-the-universe good.

Also the S10 Plus!

Great job on the review.
Great camera system. The detail you have available is truly amazing
Finally an tough competitior to pixel series
But still it's amazing to think pixel just uses one lens
It's good to see that you are showing off what the camera can actually do and not just using it as a point and shoot

Wow, the last 3 photos are absolutely astonishing
This was a really enjoyable video to watch, Arun. I'd love to watch more of these vlog-style camera tests. Also, if you ever get the time, can you please make a video of how you edit your RAW files in Lightroom Mobile to give us some inspiration.
I wish it's his voice in my thoughts 😂 I can listen to him all my life

Nokia actually nailed it those cameras can give great photography experience
Shame they didn't nail it with the memory expansion.
I have had this as a second phone for over a year.
I was in New York last February and used the Black & White only option some of the time.
I have to say I was blown away by the images of street scapes and also taking pictures of old Black & White pictures in public attractions amazing.
It's a shame some people can't get past general misconceptions of some brands.

Can't believe you were in London! Awesome video!
Let aside the phone. I am amazed by how absolutely beautiful London is looking. I have been to all places but feels like I am seeing it for first time.!!
Congratulations... You just reached the 2M mark, but you already did for me... 😊😉
Amazing 😍 phone .....I love editing my photos personally...Raw gives it more of an advantage
From experience, only during daylight! At nighttime, in general, phones process it better than what the average PROFESSIONAL can do with photoshop/lightroom.
@@Samosayummyyay this is total rubbish. RAW photos are better 100% of the time. The only reason it is not standardized in smartphone photography is that it almost always requires additional editing afterwards editing due to not being compatable with HDR; and it takes a ton of space
(16mb per photo). The nature of raw images is that it is able to capture details in extremely bright and dark conditions so once adjusting the exposure after the picture is taken, you will get a much better, more detailed image. It might be somewhat grainy, but that is due to it being uncompressed. Personally I think grain in photos look good anyways.
Can't say what was more impressive, Arun's Video quality or those photos.
This is the best camera for professional photographers who can edit in Lightroom as it retains so much information.
Wow!!
that phone does turn-out to the phone for photographers as the company advertising
I am personally a guy who plays around a lot with Light room so i like it
I know a lot of people will agree with me...
Absolutely brilliant video! You have mad skills in lightroom mate, and you really put the device through its paces. This is hands down the best camera review video with regards to the Nokia 9. A device like this is so much more than just point and shoot, and you've proved it.
Glad you didnt drop the phone from those bridges. 😅
Can you compare P20 pro vs nokia 9 and p20 pro shots in 40mb and edited just like nokia 9 ? I really want know the results. Plase, make it happens. Thanks
I've got the mate 20 pro and I can edit shots similar to these in Photoshop express without using the raw format. The selective focus feature is cool but otherwise I don't see anything extraordinary here. Just a gimmic.
@@RandomUser-fl3zo Loled
Lee Jack keep laughing. I know about the raw format and lightroom but nothing he showed here except for the portrait shots are that difficult to do with just jpegs and pe. Dehaze, contrast, and blacks.
@@RandomUser-fl3zo I think you miss the point of having great RAW photos. Normal jpeg photos have the same editing options as RAW photos, but that's not why RAW is so important when it comes to editing. RAW photos contain a lot more data. So while the options are the same, with RAW you have a lot more to work with.
@@RandomUser-fl3zo u should not underestimate raw shooting. Especially when u need to control the exposure.
No other reviewer used the camera like you did! Really shows the power of 5 sensors
