Here I am.. beeing proud I hit 2:26.386 on my fastest lap, now seeing someone hitting 2:16 while gassing down that hill up full throttle and that one left turn right before the pit entry turn...
The last time I used the Audi here it was an absolute nightmare. Car was all over the place and I couldn’t go lower than high 2:21’s or 2:22’s. I find it amazing that you can go flat out through Radillon! 🤯🤯
Ive put my first rig together couple days ago and managed to go down to 20.180 (ive done once 19.6 but i was off the track a little bit so cant count it). So far very hard for me to keep low 20s as a racing pace, usually its around 20.8. But i see my mistakes, now its time to understand them and get better. Thanks for that guide, fingers crossed will help me 👌🏼
Thanks very much for this, used to be doing 2:24's on Spa thinking I was doing well but I watched this and then set a 2:22 in the Bentley Continental on 62L of fuel, without breaking a sweat. Thankyou very much for this video. I also am part of the stewarding team on a discord server that holds races every weekend, so i'll definitely be referencing to these. Thanks again 👍
Practiced SPA for 2-3 days from time to time and improved thanks to you of course, hitting 2.21 - I was truly happy and then looked at other guys in public lobby, me being 3rd from the end, with no.1 guy 2.16.4 ... Playing online is stressful as hell, plenty of reckless drivers.
Great video I am going to be practicing this track all night with the AMG also love that you added the last times for the different categories. I love comparing my times to pros and things like that.
Just got acc and I’m thrilled that I found your quality racing vids to help me out. Not sure if you played the original assetto corsa but acc feels much different, not in a bad way just gotta get used to it for a bit. Thanks for the track guides! Also what are the differences between the lap times you showed at the end of the vid? (Pro, pro am, etc)
Thanks, Jacob, glad you are finding it useful! These are just target lap times we've made up to give you some motivation depending on your experience level. If you are reasonably new to sim racing and learning the track, the Am time is a good one to aim for in hot lap mode. Someone with a bit more experience can use Pro-Am as a target time and the Pro time is what you expect the fastest drivers on ACC to be capable of. Hope you have fun with the game, it takes some getting used to but I feel it’s very rewarding once you start getting it right 😊
Me too. Fastest I’ve been able to get is a 2:24 on spa. And that’s me balls to the wall. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Trying to get my trail braking smoother to see if that helps.
nice lap! Now I see where I need to improve upon on this circuit. I'm ~10 seconds off your pace with the Aston Martin V8, but it doesn't help I have little confidence in my pedals, (G920). I've been hoping to get a Fanatec V3 set soon and have a better feel for the brakes and throttle than I do currently, then get a DD wheel after that and see If I can improve further while squeezing out as much as I can with my current setup.
You will fall in love with the v3 pedals for sure! I had a g29 before this and it was well worth the upgrade. Have a clubsport v2.5 base and the v3 pedals and it made a huge difference. So much easier to trail brake and be more precise with the throttle and brakes. I would suggest getting the damper kit as well for the brake pedal at least it helps alot
New to ACC and simracing overall, and I've noticed something that you, and many other sim racers do and say and it's about keeping 2 wheels within the white line, I do understand that this is to prevent track limits penalties, but what I don't get is what is considered the white line, I really don't get it, isn't it the white lines on the asphalt sides? there at 1:46 when cutting the top left hand part, you're 4 wheels out of the line, no? yet you still said watch for 2 wheels in, unless line in this case is considered the top of the curb and not the white line on the asphalt, but if that is the case, then how does one know when each applies? cause I don't see where line on asphalt rule ends and curb one begins, another example is turn 6 at Misano, everyone just goes 4 wheels to the left of the line and don't get penalised but keeo saying they're 2 in!
Thanks for the comment, and welcome to sim racing! It’s tricky to be definitive, because even though there are often general rules and ideas, there are also always random exceptions which you just have to put up with. Normally the white line is the line on the asphalt, but when there is a very clear kerb that’s meant to be used during a corner, that white line is referring to the one on the opposite side of the kerb from the asphalt (1:46 example, the white line left of the kerb). Essentially, the striped kerbing can count as the circuit itself, so as long as you keep parts of your wheels on the kerb then it’s okay. It’s very tricky to be clear about track limits at every corner because sometimes it isn’t quite as obvious as it seems, and Misano is an example of that. You just have to learn for yourself how far you can before the game gives you a track limits warning/invalidates the lap. In real racing they are constantly tweaking the rules of what’s allowed and what’s not, and it’s the same for the circuit owners when it comes to their tracks. British circuits from my experience quite often change their track limits rules over the years, and some series also have different rules (check out Indycar at COTA compared to F1 at COTA for example). This is what makes it so tricky for games to get these things spot on every time, too many variables 😊 Best of luck with your racing, I hope this helps even though it doesn’t really make it much easier 😅
I'm in 2nd gear in T1. Other than that it's pretty much the way I go at Spa. If your car won't take T1 in 2nd gear, keep tuning the suspension until it does
Set my FOV properly a few days ago. Took a bit of getting used to, but a went from 2:23 with the default FOV of 72, into the 2:21s with a FOV of 57 degrees. Also traction loss is easier to catch, and it’s much easier to race close to other cars. Why didn’t I do this sooner!
Im about to try a sim rig at a local place, apparently we're doing F1 cars. Going to be brutal as I was anticipating hitting the brakes before you even were...and you were in an R8 lol.
Just struggling around 2.19.8 with both m4 gt3 and r8 gt3 😂 I compared my laps with others finding that my weakpoints are still braking and lack of throttle confidence in exit, especially in low speed corner and chicanes 😢
Unfortunately the setup from the video isn't saved, however, if you hop in our discord and message Rwaggy, he'll be able to send you one that you can use.
Hi, Are there any changes on the guide according to last physics updates? I started simracing just before those changes and I feel now we have to be more careful in the turns. So far I'm proud of clean 2:27.5 at the beginning of this adventure.
Hi Marcin, to be honest I haven’t driven at Spa since the update! But generally speaking, the same principles will apply. Maybe slightly different laptimes but similar lines etc. Best of luck with your racing! 😊
I feel like I'm missing something with this game. I'm literally doing everything mentioned in this video, yet I'm almost 8 seconds slower. In the first AC, several years ago, I used to be usually within about 3 seconds of the top of the leaderboards at most tracks. With ACC I'm like 7-10 seconds off. Makes no sense. From what I can tell is I lose most of the time going around the corners due to lack of grip. I can brake about as late as anyone and I get on the gas about the same time, but between that, between corner entry and corner exit is where I lose all the time and the car seems to just slide/understeer. If I get on the throttle any earlier it usually oversteers or spins out.
The key is to learn trail braking, I'm down to 02;22 but I still need to learn trail braking better, keep trying you,ll improve, I was 10secs and don't try to achieve what the Aliens achieve as first,y the are probably using PC and secondly been doing it for years.
Could you do a setup tour of the car for what did for this track, I am hitting the lines same as you'r but not able to get same speeds. The 3rd corner I think it is, i am ony getting around 58 - 62 mph and I notice you was hitting it around 74mph in the video. 2:00 I was only able to get around 60mph at of that corner and thanks.
Since 1.8 the times have changed slightly. The "Alien" laptimes are in the 16's. 17's are great laptimes but the majority of people will be doing 19's and 20's.
So it seems I just have to get more comfortable with pushing the track limits, this is the one circuit I go back to every time I feel like playing racing games, I've been getting faster
@@TraxionGG it's genuinely my favorite circuit, stemming back to GT6 when I first really got into racing and cars. I don't really race seriously at all, but every now and then I come back here to practice on. Lately I've been thinking of getting back into racing games
Was doing 02:17 before my shoulder injury now im 02:23/4 but will get there again, though i seem to have lost a bit of feeling in my shoulder, still my fave game though, not worried about times just retraining my shoukder on ACC
nice infos dude! :D i know all of these but what i cant get right is the eau rouge i cant get it flat out... my best time is 2:21 with a lambo huracan but im losing like a secont on eau rouge every time... maybe its because im playing with a 360 controler lmfao XD
edit: i had a bad racing line apparently... rouge corner is tricky, when u watch it looks easy but when u actually go to learn it is soooooooo hard because imo needs 0 mistake and the best racing line possible to cross it flat out without going out of the track... damn spa is awesome! :D
I have 2:27 with mercedes 2015 on a keyboard. The spa is the hardest on keyboard. Mainly the Eau Rouge. Plus I dont know how to setup the car, its either oversteery everywhere or understeery in eau rouge so I go off and get track limits...I know its a sim but I dont play it that much so i dont think i will get wheel in close future
I get 2:22-2:26 on this track with the Ferrari 296 its my best car on this track i love it looking for tips to gain a c couple more 10th's i probably need to find a good setup the times i stated are with the base tune
The game allows you (or at least allowed you when this was filmed!) to run out over that exit kerb, so long as you keep your right sides on the kerb. Best way to check it is to test and see how far you can push before the lap is invalid. All laps for track guides on this channel are/were fully legal.😊 Good luck!
I have found that having good setups can often make the difference. I got coach dave setups for the mercedes and now I am almost always faster than the pro-am times
I noticed that you often go over the white line with the whole car but not the red and yellow. Then you say what h for the white line. I'm confused. Can I go over the white line as long as I stay with in the red and yellow with out a penalty? You do it alot?
You just have to push the limits until you get a track limit warning. Experiment with it and find the perfect spot where you can use as much of the road as possible without getting pinged for it! There may be moments where I thought the limit was the white line when analysing it from one angle whereas from another angle maybe it shows that you can go a little further over. Just about using as much as you are allowed when it helps the laptime. Good luck!😊
Wait you can go out onto the green thing on Stavelot, because I always have so much difficulty taking the next corner (Frere) flat out. Being able to be all the way onto the green runoff would make that so much easier. I legitimately have more trouble with that corner than the Eau Rouge/Radillion combo
These categorization are in the game for the drivers and your driver level, but in terms of laptimes, it's more just a general gauge. Think of it as intermediate, advanced and alien lap times. These are simply made of references to give you guys something to aim for. All the best! 🙂
I still play the old ac and that curb in turn 1 is not there so when im going to play acc its gonna be a suprise when i hit that turn again for the first time whit the sausage curb😂😂
i can't go flat out through Radillon no matter how hard I try to follow the line. Its either too oversteered or understeered at the exit. using the same car
I think you will be late if you just _follow_ the line. As for me, it was helpful to aim straight from the bottom of the hill to the invisible apex on the top. but there still be an open question. I'm flat out. But my exit speed is no more than 220..228 kph. Other persons have there 240+. It's a huge difference before long straight part. Question is "how?!"
Okay, but like I’m struggling with taking the audi evo 1 through the eau rouge complex flat out. Like at the top of the hill I consistently spin out and I do not know why or how. Can someone help me out please?
It could be a range of things but in particular it's likely that you're bottoming out on the bump at the top. Try increasing front ride height 2-3mm see if that helps. You will need to adjust other areas of the setup because it will make you understeer a lot more.
6 months too late, but I had this, and for whatever reason, GHub kept resetting my steering angle to 360, not my preferred 900. No matter what I did, it kept bottoming out at the top of the hill, and then I realised what was happening. Software glitch.
I make like 2:18:9 with Porche, but I don't know from where are that 2 seconds to make 17s... is crazy. I think there is almost 0,5 sec I can gain with practice and impoving breaking points, but 2 seconds?!?!? wow nice lap
Its quite surprising the time you can shave off with more practice. I usually take a break from a track and car and drive something else and just keep practicing and then switch back and somehow shave off .5-1.0. You’ll get it eventually and wonder why you couldn’t do it before🙂
@@altonb93 Absolutely the same. I've only played for three days, switching between tracks and cars and got my times from 2:26 to a 2:22, still need to improve my quali pace because I can get better lap times in race trim.
Same - I'm at low 2:18's / high 2:17's and can't see where another second is coming from !?! My braking points and throttle pick up are the same as this in video 😟
@@SDK2006b With BMW I make my first high 17 few days ago. When the line, break and throttle are the same, only remain one thing to improve, speed on mid corner XD
I don't know I'm on the same boat, I got a 2:21 once and I'm not sure how I even did it. I can't figure out where people are finding another 4+ second.
Guess I'm *barely* an Amateur, with a 2:22.44 in the AM V12. I do appreciate the video though, I didn't think it was possible to take Eau Rouge flat. I still don't know that I'd have the cojones to do it in anything other than absolutely perfect conditions, but it's encouraging to know that it can be done. Guess I've got a lot of practicing to do.
Don’t worry about those times in that sense, these are more just targets for motivation. A 2:22 isn’t the time of an “amateur”, more just the target for a first step into being super competitive online. It’s worth remembering these were made using the older tyre and physics model, and the conditions are ideal on hotlap mode. The old V12 Aston isn’t the quickest car either! Best of luck with your racing😊
Yeh, what he said. I run the (similar) Jag in single player & stuck on 2:27. Watched this vid & decided what the hey, lemme go practice in the R8; 2:24 in 3 laps. 62L fuel just bc I forgot. 🤦♂️ Anyway, 2:24 race pace seems fitting on a half tank? 🤷♂️ Point is, keep it up & you’ll have that Bentley a-Rollin in no time. Plus I dont know how to setup the car, its either oversteery everywhere or understeery in eau rouge so I go off and get track limits...I know its a sim but I dont play it that much so i dont think i will get wheel in close future
Is it possible to take the Radillion at a speed of 267km/h ? I saw the spa in 24 hours, how is this possible?
I get 2:22-2:26 on this track with the Ferrari 296 its my best car on this track i love it looking for tips to gain a c couple more 10th's i probably need to find a good setup the times i stated are with the base tune
Not far away, best of luck finding those last little bits of lap time!
ive managed a 2.19.3 with defualt agressive setup with the 296
New to racing here...is he off track limit at 2:26 ? If not, why ?
The game allows you (or at least allowed you when this was filmed!) to run out over that exit kerb, so long as you keep your right sides on the kerb. Best way to check it is to test and see how far you can push before the lap is invalid. All laps for track guides on this channel are/were fully legal.😊 Good luck!
Great Lap!(:
Thanks 😁
@@TraxionGG i just cant seem to get to and maintain that speed at La Rouge and have been thinking about this video since i watched it yesterday(:
What does the term “matting” mean?
Pulled a 2:18.7 with the M4. Easier to drive. Is that a good lap time?
Great laptime!
This is by far the only track where my lap times ar at least matching the am times lol
Good luck!😊
i always lose time at bus stop and la source bc awkward brake references, most i could do is a 19.0 quali
Wait you can go out onto the green thing on Stavelot, because I always have so much difficulty taking the next corner (Frere) flat out. Being able to be all the way onto the green runoff would make that so much easier. I legitimately have more trouble with that corner than the Eau Rouge/Radillion combo
It's such an unknown thing but it's incredibly strong.
@@TraxionGG Yep I'm glad :D thanks!
Thank you very much for this tutorial but I still can’t go under 2:21
With the updates between this videos posting and now these times are pretty unachiveable now so dont feel bad
does the pro, pro-am and am times are dictated by the categorization in the game?
These categorization are in the game for the drivers and your driver level, but in terms of laptimes, it's more just a general gauge. Think of it as intermediate, advanced and alien lap times. These are simply made of references to give you guys something to aim for. All the best! 🙂
I still play the old ac and that curb in turn 1 is not there so when im going to play acc its gonna be a suprise when i hit that turn again for the first time whit the sausage curb😂😂
i can't go flat out through Radillon no matter how hard I try to follow the line. Its either too oversteered or understeered at the exit. using the same car
Try adding more rear wing, that was the problem in my case
@@TraxionGG ah okay, thank you!
6 months too late, but I had this, and for whatever reason, GHub kept resetting my steering angle to 360, not my preferred 900. No matter what I did, it kept bottoming out at the top of the hill, and then I realised what was happening. Software glitch.
Wow. I am only doing 2:24s 😂😂😂 with r8 ofc no tuning other than aggressive one from the game
How its a possible on 260 km/h on this chikane 😅
I can do 2.21 how can other people do 2.16?
Anyway, 2:24 race pace seems fitting on a half tank? 🤷♂️
Point is, keep it up & you’ll have that Bentley a-Rollin in no time. (Not sure if that’s sacrilege to mix those 2 these days? 😉)
I get accents and all however i will say the only thing that bothered me (likely do to my ocd) is you called it spa francor champs or something similar when its pronounced spa fancor shaw
Haha I do apologise😂 This was years ago, and I don't know why I said it like that in the voiceover on this occasion.... Hope you found the video useful!
@@TraxionGG all good i enjoyed the guide and it helped me improve none the less just thought it was a bit funny
please for the love of god put telemetry
10 second rundown better than entire video lol
To deep in Eau Rouge and lap not be count
All of the track guide laps were legal and valid, very close to the limits though!
dude, you talk way too fast
If you wanna work on the correct way to say francorchamps, try it this way... Frawn-cor-sean
