I really like Dottore as a character, his presence really elevates the mysteries of the Fatui's actions and how someone as powerful and resourceful as him bends the knee.

Another interesting fact about Dottore's character is the fact that he knows what he is and sees himself as a monster too. During Wanderer's quest, Nahida was describing Scara's story through a fairytale book and described Dottore as a monster who used a disguise to interact with others. Nahida described Dottore that he uses the disguise to be accepted by others and pitied Tataratsuna's people for not be able to see through him. Until Scara, a puppet was accepted by them and Dottore took it personally as if he was mad on how an inhuman creature like Scaramouche could be accepted so easily and finishes his mission before manipulating Scara. This gives thoughts on how Dottore was never accepted by anyone, everyone sees him as a horrible monster but when he uses a disguise in Tataratsuna he felt surprised to be accepted but pitied them that they cannot see what he really was. Maybe deep in there in Tataratsuna was one of the few times Dottore ever felt accepted by others because of how much people sees him as a horrible human being but when someone like Scara, an already inhumane being was accepted so easily, he felt envy, jealous and furious that he had to hide his ugliness just to be accepted by others while he did not
Would perfectly explain why Dottore was so exceptionally cruel to Scaramouche, he destroyed everything Scara cared about out of spite against him, and then used the puppet for his own gain as a bonus, until discarding him through an experiment after he was done with him. As a result, Dottore only proves the point of those innocent lives he had destroyed.
I saw someone say that in the CN script it's implied that dottore wasn't upset that scara was accepted bc he wanted that for himself, but bc he liked that scara was similar to him & wanted to keep it that way. 🤷♀️

I can't help but imagine and wonder about his existence before he became the monster that he is now. He was once an ordinary human being, but turned to a path of absolute evil for reasons both easy to explain and difficult to understand.
Dottore is a particularly unsettling creature. His complete lack of empathy, unyielding arrogance, and perpetually collected demeanor all make for an entity capable of unconscionable evil. If there is anymore evidence for the Fatui being an evil organization, you needn’t look much further than at that/those thing(s) called “Il Dottore.”
I think the fatui aren't necessary an evil organisation Tstaritsa's goal seem to be defeating celestia, and to do that she needs strong people. She has a noble goal but the only strong men available are monsters, and dottore is the worst
I really want Dottore to be playable. And casting famous VAs raises quite the possibility. His JP VA has portrayed Iruka in Naruto and the primary antagonist Muzan in Demon Slayer. That's a big casting right there.
As cruel as it may sound of me to say, I want to know more about Dottore's experimentation on Scaramouche, as well as how he continued to gain the knowledge on how to make his segments post-Irminsul.
i also think that recent story quests kinda lead us to learn about dottore indirectly. tighnari story quest about someone trying to make a sentient being and alhaitham story quest about collected hive mind. dottore basically already achieved them with his segments, THOUSAND YEARS earlier. he's a freaking genius.
i just love how evil he is. and since it looks like traveler is going to have to either take out the fatui completely or team up with them, having someone as evil as dottore makes it even better. if we take the second option, ally with the fatui, it makes you wonder how and/or if traveler can do so knowing that they'll have to collab with such a sick man. it will make them face that moral dilemma because on one hand, obviously what he's doing is unethical, but on the other hand without dottore, supplies/knowledge will be very limited. so in my world, it would mean traveler has to ignore the pleas of the current people in order to keep using dottore. this would cause either an internal conflict with themselves and/or a conflict with everyone vs traveler for keeping such a sick man around.
I see the Traveler more likely either getting brainwashed, or being forced to play along with the Fatui, since as you say: The Fatui are one of the only people in Teyvat that actually know what's going on. The alternatives are either the Abyss Order or Celestia, and that is just not happening anytime soon.

Hes my favourite character of all time. He's so interesting as a character and im glad he's genuinely evil with no sad backstory. I just hope he's playable

Mobius wouldn't like him, his personality alone would make everyone want to kill him, especially Kalpas. He'd probably get alone with Evil Vill-V or "Malice Vill-V" for a short while before being betrayed by her.
Il Dottore is so unspeakably evil that the ONLY way HoYo could make him playable is through a recently built Segment who is 'failed' and not so ruthless and inhuman (and I still wouldn't touch him and his banner with a 10' pole). Of course, the possibility to have even a 'not completely Evil-and-rotten-to-the-core Segment' in the party is very low due to the presence of Wanderer, who swore to destroy AT LEAST Dottore among the Harbingers; the presence of both among the Traveler's allies is not granted at all (and I would be good with that).
Isn't it really like *we only use the powers of the character (to other NPCs) rather than having them in our party directly? In that way The Wanderer could get his revenge but we could still have him if he's playable. Or the failed segment and the Wanderer talk things out..
Dottore just so happens to be my favorite character! Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure the omega build was the one that deleted the segments. Like I said this may be wrong but I believe that the omega build is the only surviving segment

I think the one who made Fatui based on commedia dell'arte was trying to show true "Chaos" cuz commedia dell'arte basically represent every aspect of human society but in Genshin they literally inversed it for example doctor and pantalone hate each other in commedia but in Genshin they are partner
My biggest question right now is when will the abyss become a main enemy again. We see them in the interlude quests but they haven't been a threat since "we will be reunited." It's been mainly the futui and the traveler is currently outpacing most of the harbingers in strength and is catching up in influence very rapidly. Soon enough the traveler will be able to beat the futui by themselves especially if they keep uncovering the dirty secrets. They are banned from inazuma, put on heavy watch in liyue and now with nahida back in charge of sumeru they are running out of countries to manipulate while having lost two harbingers at the same time and we know we are more powerful than childe along with any noncombatant harbinger. Also aster, in the desert you'll find a big ruin guard to the south, climb in it's arm, there will be a note that's very interesting
If we dive deeper into the contents of the notes, it will become clear that he doesn’t belong to kshahrewar. Let me explain why. In his notes he states that he must keep his research on ruin guards a secret. This makes us think. Why would a kshahrewar scholar hide his research if it is part of his darshan's field of study? This means that his darshan doesn’t specialise on ruin mechanisms. Also he was scolded several times because he did something he wasn’t allowed to. It even led to his name being removed from the list. If we combine these facts, we can clearly see that there are only a few options left. So this is where we can begin to use other information regarding him. Let’s start with one of the options that are left. Spantamad, to be clear. In the trailer we can see him holding a glass vile with some liquid. Also, if we look closer, his earring resembles a some sort of potion. It could be a coincidence, but what do potions do in lore? Right. They give you buffs. And his theory, to be clear, is about buffs that turn people into gods. Also he wrote about elements in the notes that were found in the hospital. And spantamad also specialises on elements. We have more than enough clues that lead us to a conclusion that he is from spantamad. I won’t be taking the note about an expelled student from spantamad, who was studying mechanical life forms. It could be Tignari's senior. I doubt they kept it there for hundreds of years. But, on the other hand, it could also be Dottore.. They could have probably searched about him in the archives before siding with him, because no one, who knew him back then, could have been alive to tell the story. And this is why they have information about him being an "outcast". By the way, I love your videos!! I was so happy when I saw someone analysing Dainsleif. He deserves more love within the community.
He's screwed over the lives of three playable characters - Collei (experimented on her and probably got her mother killed too), Wanderer (muderered Niwa, psychologically broke him by lying, destroyed Tatarasuna) and Diluc (implied to be responsible for luring Ursa the Drake to his caravan and toyed with him later on). On top of that, he strangled his classmate, mutilated her corpse by luring an animal, set loose a ruin guard to kill his other classmstes and experimented on countless eleazar victims and those are probably just the tip of the iceberg. In a world where the abyss order exists, this guy is pure evil.
Docttore knows about the truth of the sky. Nahida as a baby god, did not know that information. She offers him the one gnosis for the traveler and the other for the truth of the stars. Yes. Docttore is very evil. Many people want him to become a playable character. Unfortunately the requirements for becoming a playable character, are so against who and what he is, it is very hard the writers of the story and game would want him to change. I imagine they might consider making one of the future segments he might create, as flawed and allow it to go over to the “good side”.
If one of his future or possibly surviving clones (who didn't die despite Nahida's efforts, if that version of himself is enough of an outcast but not so much like his Fatui version it is possible [remember the person who whispered to us in passing when it came to being arrested at the end of the first fungi control test/event]) is at odds with himself enough that he can be turned.. Or that some political or power issue makes him 'need us' in some way..
i like how you pointed out that there are no 100% pure evil characters in genshin which makes dottore's case even more fascinating. he really seems unredeemable, so i'm very excited to learn what was his side of the story and what led to that psychotic way of objectifying human lives. i really thought that we'll see more of him in sumeru, since if he's zandik then he IS from sumeru right? but it looks like we'll learn more about him in another land, hopefully fontaine (and HOPEFULLY we don't have to fight him because he is number 2 after all, the dull blade can't get us through that)
I still can't get rid of the idea that Fatui are actually positive force and what they are trying to achieve is the only working approach to dealing with Celestia but we will have to travel all the way to Snezhnaya before we finally understand it.
In terms of Honkaiverse narrative, the Fatui are more akin to the Flanechasers and World Serpent. Snezhnaya chapter might be the Genshin equivalent of the Elysian Realm storyline, and the endgame might be akin to Finality.
Dottore is such a good villain that I don't even want him to change like Scaramouche. To be honest, I found it so disappointing when Scara became the Wanderer... It looks like he's literally got depressed or smth? Not a true villain at all. Cute and all, but Dottore is just a whole 'nother story.

The Schwannenritter were the GROUP of knights. Not the machines they used. It was Anfortas and his subordinates, not the giant ruin golem that they piloted. The ruin golem itself has no known name. Same with the other khaenriahn machines.

Taking into account Honkai's narrative, the Fatui Harbringers actions are akin to the Flamechasers. Dottore have traits of Mobius and Vil-V; researchers whom attempts to uncover every secret of the world, multiple personalities through different methods(segments, regression, Honkai active reaction). Even delusions functions are similar to artificial stigmata, like how Vision are akin to natural stigmata, especially the concept of forms, wishes and ideals. With the recent world and Nahida's 2nd story quest, it's much more apparent that Teyvat is a product of the Flamechasers Project SAVE; Project Ark, though it's unknown if its a leaf attached to the Imaginary Tree, or a bubble universe, or anchored though an Ether Anchor. Even some of the hidden lore through books, quests, and artifacts are in line with Griseo's event. Important terms in Honkai have different naming sense in their connected games/narratives. It's likely the ultimate plan is akin to Finality, in Genshin's terms/methods. The traveller's role is akin to Elysia, being a partial chance in changing the overall fate of Teyvat to some extent.
Idk how he's going to be playable. We have a handful of scheming and unfeeling characters in the roster who could've killed us if they deemed it necessary but this guy is on another level of inhumaneness. How am I supposed to leave his current self in my teapot without anything getting dissected when I return

The most human of his previous younger selves are probably immature, self-centered and arrogant and that's the best of what we might get- that is, if he even bothered cloning those versions and, if he did, then they would definitely be the ones he would choose to destroy first. Changing him would be harder than messing with the irminsul like Scara did since the problem lies with Dottorre himself. But I guess there is hope since we never know... there might be more to him than what we've been shown so far
I was really struck by the cutscene of his segments dying words. All of them are arguing, saying omega build is stupid for this, that they'll make him pay if he thinks he's won, etc, and their voices are all layered over each other, ranging in pitch but all around probably 25+. Then the final line, the one that isn't layered with another segment, with its writing smack in the center, is shouted by a very young sounding voice saying just simply "YOU WILL REGRET THIS!" Not attempting to sound superior, to sound calm, just mad. I think this segment, or the one that replaces him, is the youngest one of the group, probably before Zandik starts being sus at the Akademiya or just at the start. I also think this will be the playable Dottore. It feels like he's maybe bullied or mistreated by the others, to the point that he doesn't attempt to prove anything, and is younger and therefore more open to change. He'll probably still be a mad scientist freak man but we can perhaps get him to /not/ be homocidal if he's given validation at that phase, or maybe resources for his experiments under the rule that he can't do evil shit with it. I think this is a good way of having your cake and eating it too irt Dottore's irredeemability. He's too shitty of a guy to even consider an unforgiven but useful ally, like Scara might be in some people's eyes, but this younger version of him has not gone past the point of no return. Idk if they'll stick the landing-- I kinda think Genshin is in general too forgiving of character's transgressions -- but it'll be interesting at least. I'm just praying no shortboy model :) please :) im begging
This is most likely a Dottore segment from the manga, that why he's young, and he's been singled out because that's the only segment we know, except Bottore and Omega.

I love Dottore as a character and he sometimes reminds me of Fangyuan from Reverend Insanity which is one of my most favorite novel. I want him as a playable! T_T

i really would like doctor to be a real maniac from beginning not that something happened and he became a bad guy...he is so cruel and this makes him a perfect villain. i want that he was a really maniac from beginning towards his experiments even when he was in akedmiya and this amde him get expelled. i highly believe ZANDIK is his real name and if we go according to the lore of this "zandik" then he killed? or mistakenly harmed his colleague so much that they died on spot...ALSO when we meet doctor for the first time nahida clearly states that he was the guy who got expelled from akedmiya meaning he was a scholar to be least ALSO does anyone thinks that doctor's all clones are removed? i don't think so i mean his clones could have been removed by nahida but the knowledge required for making clones is still with doctor so he can make more when i first saw doctor he really haves the bad aura with him as a character mihoyo did a good job
To be honest hoyo has the perfect villain and is a greatly loved character but heated at the same time for him to have a redemption arc it’s just lazy and honestly doesn’t make sense he clearly is pure evil and only cares about his experiments So it would be better if he was just not playable
In some quests where we can read documents, they literally don't allow us to see certain words.. in some cases we really "don't know" what they could be. Especially if say the Eleazar notes were his notes: any number of casual 'scientific' or 'medical' terms used apathetically could apply..
Ngl A lot of people want him to be playable by him being playable just doesn’t feel right mostly because hoyo already has such a good villain most of the villains have sad backstory but him he just is pure evil Who has no sympathy for anyone in the slightest 
Unpopular opinion but I don't want him to be playable. I think they're going to try to redeem him and that is going to ruin his character. I want him to be unhinged 💀 and not "uwu sory my mistake oopsie"

i just love how evil he is. and since it looks like traveler is going to have to either take out the fatui completely or team up with them, having someone as evil as dottore makes it even better. if we take the second option, ally with the fatui, it makes you wonder how and/or if traveler can do so knowing that they'll have to collab with such a sick man.
it will make them face that moral dilemma because on one hand, obviously what he's doing is unethical, but on the other hand without dottore, supplies/knowledge will be very limited. so in my world, it would mean traveler has to ignore the pleas of the current people in order to keep using dottore. this would cause either an internal conflict with themselves and/or a conflict with everyone vs traveler for keeping such a sick man around.
I see the Traveler more likely either getting brainwashed, or being forced to play along with the Fatui, since as you say: The Fatui are one of the only people in Teyvat that actually know what's going on. The alternatives are either the Abyss Order or Celestia, and that is just not happening anytime soon.

Mobius wouldn't like him, his personality alone would make everyone want to kill him, especially Kalpas. He'd probably get alone with Evil Vill-V or "Malice Vill-V" for a short while before being betrayed by her.

Il Dottore is so unspeakably evil that the ONLY way HoYo could make him playable is through a recently built Segment who is 'failed' and not so ruthless and inhuman (and I still wouldn't touch him and his banner with a 10' pole).
Of course, the possibility to have even a 'not completely Evil-and-rotten-to-the-core Segment' in the party is very low due to the presence of Wanderer, who swore to destroy AT LEAST Dottore among the Harbingers; the presence of both among the Traveler's allies is not granted at all (and I would be good with that).
those characters that you have in your team are not canon, so Dottore can, like Child, temporarily join the Traveler, and not meet the Wanderer.
Isn't it really like *we only use the powers of the character (to other NPCs) rather than having them in our party directly? In that way The Wanderer could get his revenge but we could still have him if he's playable. Or the failed segment and the Wanderer talk things out..

My biggest question right now is when will the abyss become a main enemy again. We see them in the interlude quests but they haven't been a threat since "we will be reunited." It's been mainly the futui and the traveler is currently outpacing most of the harbingers in strength and is catching up in influence very rapidly. Soon enough the traveler will be able to beat the futui by themselves especially if they keep uncovering the dirty secrets. They are banned from inazuma, put on heavy watch in liyue and now with nahida back in charge of sumeru they are running out of countries to manipulate while having lost two harbingers at the same time and we know we are more powerful than childe along with any noncombatant harbinger.
Also aster, in the desert you'll find a big ruin guard to the south, climb in it's arm, there will be a note that's very interesting
If we dive deeper into the contents of the notes, it will become clear that he doesn’t belong to kshahrewar. Let me explain why. In his notes he states that he must keep his research on ruin guards a secret. This makes us think. Why would a kshahrewar scholar hide his research if it is part of his darshan's field of study? This means that his darshan doesn’t specialise on ruin mechanisms. Also he was scolded several times because he did something he wasn’t allowed to. It even led to his name being removed from the list.
If we combine these facts, we can clearly see that there are only a few options left. So this is where we can begin to use other information regarding him. Let’s start with one of the options that are left. Spantamad, to be clear. In the trailer we can see him holding a glass vile with some liquid. Also, if we look closer, his earring resembles a some sort of potion. It could be a coincidence, but what do potions do in lore? Right. They give you buffs. And his theory, to be clear, is about buffs that turn people into gods. Also he wrote about elements in the notes that were found in the hospital. And spantamad also specialises on elements. We have more than enough clues that lead us to a conclusion that he is from spantamad.
I won’t be taking the note about an expelled student from spantamad, who was studying mechanical life forms. It could be Tignari's senior. I doubt they kept it there for hundreds of years. But, on the other hand, it could also be Dottore.. They could have probably searched about him in the archives before siding with him, because no one, who knew him back then, could have been alive to tell the story. And this is why they have information about him being an "outcast".
By the way, I love your videos!! I was so happy when I saw someone analysing Dainsleif. He deserves more love within the community.
Dottore is by far my favorite character in the entire game, I hope he stays evil, I cannot wait until he is playable
He's screwed over the lives of three playable characters - Collei (experimented on her and probably got her mother killed too), Wanderer (muderered Niwa, psychologically broke him by lying, destroyed Tatarasuna) and Diluc (implied to be responsible for luring Ursa the Drake to his caravan and toyed with him later on). On top of that, he strangled his classmate, mutilated her corpse by luring an animal, set loose a ruin guard to kill his other classmstes and experimented on countless eleazar victims and those are probably just the tip of the iceberg. In a world where the abyss order exists, this guy is pure evil.
Docttore knows about the truth of the sky. Nahida as a baby god, did not know that information. She offers him the one gnosis for the traveler and the other for the truth of the stars. Yes. Docttore is very evil. Many people want him to become a playable character. Unfortunately the requirements for becoming a playable character, are so against who and what he is, it is very hard the writers of the story and game would want him to change. I imagine they might consider making one of the future segments he might create, as flawed and allow it to go over to the “good side”.
Uh, I don't mean to be that one guy, but there actually have been some leaks saying he will eventually become a playable character in the future.
If one of his future or possibly surviving clones (who didn't die despite Nahida's efforts, if that version of himself is enough of an outcast but not so much like his Fatui version it is possible [remember the person who whispered to us in passing when it came to being arrested at the end of the first fungi control test/event]) is at odds with himself enough that he can be turned.. Or that some political or power issue makes him 'need us' in some way..

i like how you pointed out that there are no 100% pure evil characters in genshin which makes dottore's case even more fascinating. he really seems unredeemable, so i'm very excited to learn what was his side of the story and what led to that psychotic way of objectifying human lives. i really thought that we'll see more of him in sumeru, since if he's zandik then he IS from sumeru right? but it looks like we'll learn more about him in another land, hopefully fontaine (and HOPEFULLY we don't have to fight him because he is number 2 after all, the dull blade can't get us through that)

I still can't get rid of the idea that Fatui are actually positive force and what they are trying to achieve is the only working approach to dealing with Celestia but we will have to travel all the way to Snezhnaya before we finally understand it.
In terms of Honkaiverse narrative, the Fatui are more akin to the Flanechasers and World Serpent. Snezhnaya chapter might be the Genshin equivalent of the Elysian Realm storyline, and the endgame might be akin to Finality.
Dottore is such a good villain that I don't even want him to change like Scaramouche. To be honest, I found it so disappointing when Scara became the Wanderer... It looks like he's literally got depressed or smth? Not a true villain at all. Cute and all, but Dottore is just a whole 'nother story.

The Schwannenritter were the GROUP of knights. Not the machines they used. It was Anfortas and his subordinates, not the giant ruin golem that they piloted. The ruin golem itself has no known name. Same with the other khaenriahn machines.

Taking into account Honkai's narrative, the Fatui Harbringers actions are akin to the Flamechasers. Dottore have traits of Mobius and Vil-V; researchers whom attempts to uncover every secret of the world, multiple personalities through different methods(segments, regression, Honkai active reaction). Even delusions functions are similar to artificial stigmata, like how Vision are akin to natural stigmata, especially the concept of forms, wishes and ideals.
With the recent world and Nahida's 2nd story quest, it's much more apparent that Teyvat is a product of the Flamechasers Project SAVE; Project Ark, though it's unknown if its a leaf attached to the Imaginary Tree, or a bubble universe, or anchored though an Ether Anchor. Even some of the hidden lore through books, quests, and artifacts are in line with Griseo's event. Important terms in Honkai have different naming sense in their connected games/narratives.
It's likely the ultimate plan is akin to Finality, in Genshin's terms/methods. The traveller's role is akin to Elysia, being a partial chance in changing the overall fate of Teyvat to some extent.
Idk how he's going to be playable. We have a handful of scheming and unfeeling characters in the roster who could've killed us if they deemed it necessary but this guy is on another level of inhumaneness. How am I supposed to leave his current self in my teapot without anything getting dissected when I return

The most human of his previous younger selves are probably immature, self-centered and arrogant and that's the best of what we might get- that is, if he even bothered cloning those versions and, if he did, then they would definitely be the ones he would choose to destroy first. Changing him would be harder than messing with the irminsul like Scara did since the problem lies with Dottorre himself. But I guess there is hope since we never know... there might be more to him than what we've been shown so far
I was really struck by the cutscene of his segments dying words. All of them are arguing, saying omega build is stupid for this, that they'll make him pay if he thinks he's won, etc, and their voices are all layered over each other, ranging in pitch but all around probably 25+. Then the final line, the one that isn't layered with another segment, with its writing smack in the center, is shouted by a very young sounding voice saying just simply "YOU WILL REGRET THIS!" Not attempting to sound superior, to sound calm, just mad. I think this segment, or the one that replaces him, is the youngest one of the group, probably before Zandik starts being sus at the Akademiya or just at the start. I also think this will be the playable Dottore. It feels like he's maybe bullied or mistreated by the others, to the point that he doesn't attempt to prove anything, and is younger and therefore more open to change. He'll probably still be a mad scientist freak man but we can perhaps get him to /not/ be homocidal if he's given validation at that phase, or maybe resources for his experiments under the rule that he can't do evil shit with it.
I think this is a good way of having your cake and eating it too irt Dottore's irredeemability. He's too shitty of a guy to even consider an unforgiven but useful ally, like Scara might be in some people's eyes, but this younger version of him has not gone past the point of no return. Idk if they'll stick the landing-- I kinda think Genshin is in general too forgiving of character's transgressions -- but it'll be interesting at least.

This is most likely a Dottore segment from the manga, that why he's young, and he's been singled out because that's the only segment we know, except Bottore and Omega.

In some quests where we can read documents, they literally don't allow us to see certain words.. in some cases we really "don't know" what they could be. Especially if say the Eleazar notes were his notes: any number of casual 'scientific' or 'medical' terms used apathetically could apply..
