I just thought that I would share a story from back in the '70s when I owned a 69 Galaxie 500 XL GT sportroof like yours. Mine had a 429, and I had done a little alteration in that I had it running straight pipes. One day I was driving to my uncle's junkyard when a Highway Patrol car stopped me for the loud noise. I was in sight of the drive that lead to the junkyard, and gave the officer a story that I was going there to replace the exhaust. He let me go and followed me to the yard where we were met by my uncle and my dad. Both of which confirmed my story. I was laughing to myself and feeling quite pleased as I had now got them to back up my story. As the officer started to walk off to his car, my dad told me to climb in my uncle's pickup. We were headed up to get the exhaust, which, much to my chagrin, we did. When I left that evening, my car was as quiet as when it left the factory.
Good to see it off the grass. Just found a 69 Mercury Montego XL 2 door fastback in original orange w/ white interior (bench) and vinyl top. 351 automatic.
Hey Zeph, I have a 95 Mark viii, would you choose Thrush Turbos or Thrush welded mufflers? either of these mufflers with Hookers 3 1/2 in dia outlet, 11 in long Tips.

You swapped it back to an automatic transmission?
Yes. The 4 speed was an old junkyard find and wasn't up to the abuse i subjected it to.
That C6 AOD will do you fine
Do you have the link to where you bought those glass packs?
Thank you!
Can I get the link???
Needs a set of headers
Derek Joon no way. I love old skool hipo manifolds or cast iron headers. Or stock manifolds
