- The best method I have found over the years to remove an interior door. I used to remove the hinges screws but removing the pin is a much better method and will make reinstalling the interior door much easier. Side cutters make it easy to get the pin unstuck and makes quick work of removing the 3 pins. If you are taking off all your doors don't forget to store the pins in their respect door hinges and also label each door with the room name.

Just what I needed, short, sweet and to the point. Thank you!
Happy to help!
thank you! I used some type of plier with a hammer and that worked as well. So easy!
You make it look so easy! First time in my 60years I’m going to buy and remove an interior door from someone, wish me luck
Good luck, sir!
I suggest you put the tape on the side of the door. If you leave the masking tape on the varnish for longer than expected ( because of some unforeseen circomstances) it is possible that the varnish may pull off when you remove the tape....
I couldn't get the cutters under the head of the pin, so I got a large nail and hit the pin's bottom of the head emerged enough to get a bite. Good video..
Extremely helpful and not dragged out, and you were still able to get several helpful tips in, it was still easy to watch! So appreciate that. Many thanks!
You Bet!
Thank you!!!!! I would have done waaaaay too much to take my door off. I am sooooo glad I checked to see how to first. I was totally gonna remove the hinges. You saved me a lot of strife, for sure. Thanks again!!
Great tip! I never thought of using a side cutters. I've always used a flathead screwdriver to pop them out, but it can be a real pain if they're isn't a gap at the head of the pin.
Thanks, yeah I switched to side cutters a couple years back and have never looked back as it is much easier.
Mark the pins when you remove them in case one was bent intentionally so that you know where exactly it was-if you are going to put it back. For easy storage or disposal-remove the door knobs so that all doors can be stocked on top of each other.
Great video, no bs. Just straight to the point. Thank you bro. I needed this information to lube the pin on all the doors in my home. Everything creeks and squeaks
Clear and straight to the point. Lovely.
Youre very precise and clear in your communication.? Will check out your other vids as needed. Thank b you😊
Thanks for posting! Just what I needed.
Extremely helpful! Thank you 🎉
Thanks so much for this!
Thanks! I plan to move out of my current place and the front door that blocks the bugs from flying inside; opens awkwardly in front my 2nd floor balcony. By removing the front door now, I can easily take out large furniture like the bed and couch more easily.
Thank You, I didn't want to get another husband just for these things 😋
Best thing I’ve seen in awhile! 😂
Dude, your videos are so well explained
Thanks!
thank you!!!!!
Thank you 😌
Thanks for this video! Do you have a follow up to the proper way to paint the doors?
Thank you ❤️😊
Thank you!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Is there a name for the bar that underneath the door? It’s installed between the edges.
lol I gave up because it was too hard and started removing the screws one by one at 2 in the morning
Trouble is how to put it back
The hinges are stubborn to go back to place now when I want to put the door back
Yo! Where's that sill gap weather stripping for front door video?
Hahaha, I’m trying got a couple projects taking up my time and it’s 75F outside and sunny so not the highest of priorities right this minute. Thanks for the reminder 👍.
I knew that I should remove the pins as k have done it before but the pins are capped off on both the bottom and top, how can I remove the pins when the hammer can't knock it out?
Can you unscrew the bottom cap if you hold the top cap with a pair of pliers?
Thanks! This is the best video I’ve seen for this, but how do you put it back on? I might need to take my apartment door off to fit a sofa, but want to know how to put it back. Please make another video😭
👍👍😊
I have an older home, and they've painted all the doors and the hinges. Could I strip all that paint off the doors and sand them down and give a new wood stain?
If it's solid wood, that should work. You may run into problems while sanding down the edges (not the front of back) of the door though, as you may have to sand down quite a bit to get all the remnants of the paint off the door, so the door will actually be a little smaller (larger gaps all around) and you may have to monkey around with the hardware a bit (hinges, etc).
As asdfgoogle mentioned you probably could but some of these projects end up being so much work it is faster and cheaper just to buy a new doors and trim. Maybe give it a try on 1 door and see how it turns out. Best of luck on the project.
@@EverydayHomeRepairs ok thank you.
@@asdfgoogle Oh ok they don't appear to be solid wood they feel light and cheap with years of paint on them. Thank you
now, what's the hardest way possible?
Hopefully this works and I can take down my brothers door because he broke mine
Lol my mom just took my door so I’m gonna take hers and put it on mine unless she stops me before I’m able to
Those had better be dollar store side cutters....
Blessings, John 3:16. Jesus loves you.
