I agree 100%, those commenters that feel the need to correct everything you say are annoying as hell! BTW, that isn't a helmet cam, that would be a hat cam.😉
Band-Aid, Kleenex, Sawzall, Skilsaw… oddly we all know what they mean. We also all know they are brand name synomyms. Thanks for keeping the overly particular people in check. Regardless of all that thanks for another fantastic video!
Interesting idea, over in the Uk we leave the door frame and just unscrew the door, although this is a good idea for reversing a door from internal opening to outward opening 👍🏻
Thanks for the explanation on door swing, I have filled that for future use. As I work on my own I just look at the hinge side and make a note of which hand the hinges are. Come and hang some doors in a Victorian house with me one day, its more like carving than planning.
Where I live and apply my trade as a carpenter we put 5 row’s of screws and two screws per row with folding wedges sitting above the screws between the door lining and stud wall x
Sir, I know you're going to hate me for this because you said you hate this sort of thing, but........ It's called a Swordfish not a saws all or recipe saw or whatever you called it. Sorry again, I know I'm an a$$hole but I couldn't resist (mainly because I'm an a$$hole) 🙏. I wish I could buy you a beer just to show that I really am sorry. Oh, and thank you for the bending the door pin trick, I have a few doors in the house that need that so I know what I'm doing as soon as I feel like doing something. So thank, sorry, and have a great day.
Great tips as always bud! Loved the video, i never had a sawzall but a jigsaw is the best saw for allround jobs i think btw i removed my shed door to paint it and stuff, but now the hinges are a bit off and its hard to but the door back in place. Do you have any tips? Have a great weekend bud!🍻🍻
What do you mean the hinges are a bit off? Is there built up paint in the recess not letting the hinge sit where it used to? Cut it out with a knife. If your having trouble holding the door while screwing in the hinges shim the bottom of the latch side of the door to hold it in place for you. You can use shims or a couple blocks of wood. Again I don’t know what your exact issue is
80 to 82 inches......i'm 6 ft 6. 7 feet door then. Although in the Netherlands we have doors that are 2.20 mtrs, about 7 ft 2 standerd these days. We also call it a reprico saw. Becouse that is wat its says on the box you buy it in. And were a practical people we are. 😜
That screwdriver bounces really nicely if you throw it just right off concrete. As a kid on construction site, I spent a ridiculous amount of time doing this along with hammer tricks.
Sawsall Sawsall Sawsall!! Skilsaw. Jigsaw. Kleenex. etc…. Those terminology snobs likely are weekend warriors for home improvement and don’t know how to make a living with skillful hands. Jus’ sayin’!!

Laughed out loud when you said prison shank!! Helpful tips all.

Your beater screwdriver is gorgeous

Dang that milwaukee blade holder is nifty, ima need that.
It’s handy to keep in your tool box for those times you don’t have every tool you own on site!
Awesome video, will be using this and the other how to install one for when I do my 3 doors, thankyou!
Best wishes with the doors
I think Milwaukee actually owns the patent on “sawz-all” so in your case, your use of the term was appropriate (even for the pedants among us).
"$50, $100, 10 million bucks; the sky's the limit." LOL
Great tips man! I can say that I have a lot of experience installing doors but not much removing them, so this was a great video.
Love your video's, entertaining and informative!!
Thanks a lot Jon
You are a genius! Thank you so much
that arm trick to know door swings blew my mind
😂At some point every carpenter installs the wrong door in a particular location! This little trick comes in handy!
A lot of construction professionals refer to reciprocating saws as saws all
Actually Zeke it's Sawzall not Saws All..........Lol just kidding call it what ever you like! Thanks for checking out the video:)
The ol tape around the blade technique. Works with an Olfa blade, too. ;)

Thanks for the vid 😎🛠️😎🛠️😎
Cheers Ted, thanks for all the support buddy!
Ayy yes…the prison shank…classic. But…according to Rex Kruger one may actually not need tools at all. 🤣

I call it The Eraser!
Great video and great information
I forgot about that single long hinge screw a while back and made a mess of things.

In the UK a standard door size is 6ft 6 inches by by 2ft 6 inches
I'm 5 ft 17 inches
Industry professionals know it's called a “Solves-All”. Just sayin’.
truth.
Thanks
😂prison shank lmao
I have heard people call sawzall's a zaw zaw, very annoying but I don't correct them cuz that would be dumb too.
1:50 - so there *is* something that can get you out of your laid back attitude! :)
Great vid, but why take out such a beautiful door?
😂essentially I want to make a video about installing doors…
@@TheFunnyCarpenter thought maybe you were going pocket door. That would be an nice video, maybe sometime in the future
What if I have a split jamb?
3:53 Teach me how to saw that fast!
It's called a reciprocating saw. Sawzall is a name brand.
Sorry guys. It was inevitable that someone did it anyway. I'll take the hate. Bring it on.😈
Classic Todd move😂
Whats funny is that actually is a sawzall lol!
The people who correct your brand usage obviously never reach for a Kleenex, they only use facial tissue
Technically, it's not actually an "Amazon Store", more like an Amazon list page. There, it's not about tools.
Considering I was going to correct your use of "hand saw" rather than a manually powered reciprocating saw, you got off real easy.
😂
Stop abusing that helpless Wera insulated screwdriver with your hammer :( ......I do the same thing :D
That screwdriver bounces really nicely if you throw it just right off concrete. As a kid on construction site, I spent a ridiculous amount of time doing this along with hammer tricks.
Hilarious
Clearly everybody knows that’s referred to as “that cutty thingy” duh
Umm, just take the door off and leave the frame, much easier.
Doors vary slightly in sizes. If you try to fit another door in an old frame, you will most likely have issues.
If you don’t have any power tools you’re watching the wrong kinda videos
Lol just don't.... 😅
Not the fancy Wera screwdriver! It's gonna cost you $100 to replace that!
