rim brakes, mechanical gears, (mostly) external cabling. Such a serviceable bike. They genuinely don't make them like that any more! I'd love a video from you on mechanical vs electronic gears; your rim vs disk brakes one was very candid and honest. Cheers gents, all the best 👊
Definitely it’s a video we’d make it’s just a matter of having both bikes in on a day we’re filming! Thank you as always for the support🧡⚙️
Thanks for the uploads over the years. I hope youtube makes it worth it to continue
Thank you. We try not to dwell into the RUclips specifics but we’re still nowhere near making enough money this is a huge gamble that we’re taking just because we love doing it so hopefully it pays off at some point 🧡
What a beautiful bike. I think this era of bikes was the best. Look great and easier to work on.
I completely agree 🧡
Excellent service Lee. That SRAM Red is a lovely group set. You identified and solved many little issues with this bike. The level of service you provide keeps me coming back each week. Thanks for sharing your talents with us. Best to Simon as well!!
Great work. I didn't know that about the proprietary crank extractor tool for Cannondale cranks.
SRAM Red is a superlight group - those pedals alone probably weigh more than the rest of i put together!!
I love Cannondale bikes though. Raced on them in the 1990s - CAAD3 and 4 Seaeco / Cipollini replicas 🙂 Pity I couldn't replicate his finishing speed!!!
Awesome!!🧡
Depends on the exact model (because of the color these look like plastic body ones), Kéos and a bunch of SPD-SL pedals weigh less, but I myself got Reverse Black One platform pedals (I'm new, just three months into road biking, probably will try some clipless in the near future) and the pair weighs just around 320g, roughly the same as a pair of PD-R550 (SPD-SL) or XTR PD-M9100 (SPD).
I have a CAAD5 and the finish quality on the frame is stunning. You just can't see the welds in the aluminium, real craftsmanship. When they stopped making them in the USA they lost all that.
Another cracking job mate!
Love youre video's, greetings from the Netherlands.
Thank you! 🧡🇳🇱
Second that. Greeting from Netherlands x2 !🎉🎉
Another great service. Always impressed that your hands still clean after doing service and greasing without gloves.
The sram mechanical group set is a pleasure to work on. One of the lightest setup u can get on a bike.
Also this cannondale is a great frame. Solidly made but cant say the same for the bb.
Thank you for sharing your video.
Beautiful job as always!
This is awesome! I own this exact same bike with some Bontregar carbon wheels. I bought it maybe a month ago. Paid $1400 and it came with Garmin RS200 power pedals, and a bunch of brand new parts. It's currently at the shop for a shifter issue. Love the bike so much!
Rim brake after rim brake after rim brake bike.
OK Bikespeeds, we see your new addiction.
Well just get a Scott Addict!
We want more!
It’s just what we’ve had in at the moment!🧡
@@Bikespeeds Not complaining, Dang! Bring it on!
Looks great a wonderful service and great before and after difference. 👍
Mountain bike pedals on a road bike 😂😂
Each to there own I guess....
Nice video 👍
Love the 1 percenters.
Spot on, as new again, thanks for another great video.
yaaay! a new video! thank you so much!
Nice bike great job buddy 👍🇬🇧
Thanks Leslie!🧡
That ultrasonic cleaned groupset added so much to bike. Anyways, great service as always, thank you!
Thanks for the support again!🧡⚙️
The video was excellent as usual and enjoy the time taken to explain reasons etc behind every task. My only quibble would be the length of gear cable between frame drop out and rear mech, I'd be tempted to shorten by a good few centimetres! But as not my bike would've had to leave unless owner instructed otherwise! 🙂🙂🙂
Had one of these Evo's once, awesome bike, but recall that those SRAM single pivot brakes were really terrible on carbon braking surfaces.
Good Video as always, loved the cannondale, like the look of it, and also the gear setup was like a mountain bike transmission, with a ten or eleven speed cassette, many thanks for sharing 👍😁🙏💚💯
This era of bikes was a golden era! Thanks for the support🧡⚙️
If you didn't have that tool to take that chainset off you can use an long 11mm allen socket, then put a 11mm normal socket on top to take up the space in the spindle and a normal square taper crank extractor will work.
I hope when you find loose headsets you are pulling the fork and checking the steerer for damage. If the customer is not aware their headset is loose they won’t know to pull the fork to check themselves.
@ProffessorSeen1 Fair point very wise precaution 👍
Cannondale evo fabulous bike at the time i bought my CAAD 10 now 12 years ago I wanted the evo but didn’t have the money to buy it. Brilliant job as always 👍
Awesome! Hopefully you enjoyed this one then🧡
lovely jubbly
I’m getting one of newest new to me bike tuned up either before winter or right before spring.
great frame & groupset red chainset would compete it 👍 looks like being used as a commuter with them pedals 🤔 top job 🚴👌
Cool bike, something different! Thanks again Geordie!🧡⚙️
Nice! One thing, I notice that you seem to put the cables in 'dry'....I always try to introduce a few drops of a light oil onto the cable and in the outer, but you seem not to. (I use stainless cables and clarks or jagwire outer). Is this either right or wrong?
Cheers! 😃
Thank you for another positive and calming video. Lovely job as always.
Dont know if you can help. I am trying to remove a Shimano freehub on my mtb. Do you know what size allen key it needs. Its a 9mm qr through the hub in case that makes a difference. I have tried a 10mm and 11mm. The 11mm eventually grabs but i think thats further down the axle.
Buying tools is getting expensive and searching online is gives conflicting info. So with the 10mm and 11mm not fitring. Could it be a 12mm. I think 15mm would be tool big and i havent seen 13mm or 14mm suggested. Thanks
Rim brake lives matter ❤
Going strong!🧡⚙️
The Pedals😮😢
That version of the Super Six Evo weighed less than the modern day disk brake bike and probably cost a fraction of the price of a current model. Pay 5x as much for a heavier bike. Bike industry have managed to fool everybody
A very good point 🧡
Hi
It looks like you would benefit from using a Nepros 3/8" quick spinner which would allow you to easily spin the 3/8" hex while engaged with the wrench. For example when removing the pedals you use the 3/8" hex on the wrench to brake the pedal loose then once loose you remove the 3/8" hex and turn it by hand. With the quick spinners you can easily spin the 3/8" hex while its still on the wrench.
That rear brake cable is a Cannondale special, it only happens on the cannondales with the cable going into the headtube 😂 fortunately I don't have that issue anymore as I switched to a S-Works
What's going on with those pedals ?
Nothing. It is just the riders preference. However I would have recommended pedals with a nose guard if he doesn't like clipless.
@@rosomak8244 What's a noseguard ?
Is a evo a supersix evo or what kind of is it never heard of it.
Yes, in 2014 cannondale released some super six evo frames with just the evo decals.
@@wouter6053 cheers, did not know that
It says super six on inside of forks as well.
Title changed!🧡⚙️
yes
Flat pedals on a SuperSix...
My bike isn’t dirty it’s debris infused thank you very much.
I get my gear cables from Amazon £10 for 10 cables ,😀
Ha ha this bike is now a million dollars. Minus half a million for service charge.
