  • This iteration on the Los Calientes formula uses smoked jalapenos and chipotle to pay homage to the flavors of barbecue. The traditional Los Calientes apricot flavor pairs very well with the new smoky additions, making this a great sauce for charred/smoked red meat and an enticing changeup for your next bacon BBQ burger.

I got the hot ones kit last year and this one was my favorite. I was is was cheaper and more readily available because I would buy it regularly!

Californian here. Barbacoa means the same thing here as it does for you. That said, it's been so long since I've eaten it that I barely remember how it tastes.
Personally, not a fan at all of Hot Ones (many reasons). I appreciate you going through their sauces though because I do like sauces, regardless of origin. Saves me from ever having to look there.
Anyway, mostly commenting because: Injured my back and have been bedridden for, well as of now, three days so far, and I've been binge-watching your content. It's really helped me get through the pain and inconvenience, and find some things to try sometime maybe. Just wanted to express my gratitude is all.

Barbacoa and big red is a tradition for alot of us in san antone. I will say it mostly grossed me out as a kid. But I've found some mom and pop places that do it up lean and delicious. Must have onions and good hot sauce of course with a south texas tortilla...
    Good review.
