  • This maelstrom of pain from the good folks at Heatonist and Puckerbutt Farms features the Apollo pepper. This is the latest lovechild from mad scientist Ed Currie, coming across to me as a cross between a Carolina Reaper and a weaponized Fatalii. All nose and no tongue, this one smells delicious but has little in the way of a tasting experience due to the total exclusion of seasoning and salt.

    Just found your channel. Love it!
    I absolutely agree about Apollo -- all hot and little taste. I loooove hot sauces. But heat without flavor is just stunt eating IMHO.

    could you make a comparison of your ten favourite chilis tastewise?
    i love your videos, because its mostly about flavour. other ppl just wanna show of with the most spicy bullshit, but chilis are more than that and you got that 😇

    Nothing is more disappointing than taking a rare pepper with an interesting aroma, selling it as a bland extract sauce without enough salt to actually bring out the flavor, and barely even cracking into the "high" heat levels. If it's in the ballpark of Aka Miso, it's not even as hot as other, non-extract sauces with tons of flavor.
    The Ancho Masala kicked my butt the first couple times I tried it, though I've mostly acclimated to it now. I'm interested to see your review, both out of curiosity for the flavor and for the heat. I've already got a bottle, so it'll be a good... calibration, I guess you could say! Plus I have a lot of confused thoughts, maybe a second opinion will help me organize them. Also I just like watching your content. Hah.

      I'm really excited for the Ancho Masala. I've heard great (and terrifying) things, lol. Appreciate you watching, hope you have a good weekend!

      Exhorresco, that’s how you do a super hot natural sauce

      @@james5353 I've never had it, but I've been on the lookout for sauces that have some kick to them. The ingredients sound good, and it's even got a unique pepper not found in most sauces, AND it's a reasonable price? What's the catch? I half expect the bottle must be cursed in some way.

      imma reply toi this with my own comment i made:
      see, i hate when i can taste vinigar. and my problem with salt is that sometimes its too much. and the type of salt is also important. personally i only like pink himalayan salt for its flavors and its also good for you so i have no problem adding some of that in the sauce or on the dish. but if it had salt and i didnt like the ammount or the type of salt, it would ruin it for me. tho im more of a cook so i like that i can add my own stuff to it. i could put it in a jam and make a sweet sauce or i can add some indian spices and do something curry related. so i dont think its bad that its like a canvas that gives you a nareall aroma and some heat

    Personally I’ve had it and it wasn’t so spicy as I aspect it to be because my spice tolerance is very high , If your spice tolerance is not high don’t eat it cuz you will feel it

    Loving the second camera but why can’t they put a bit of sodium in? Just sounds too straight

    • @chilichunn
      @chilichunn  3 года назад +1

      Lol I hear you, it wouldn't be super hard (or expensive) to put 15-20mg sodium in there. It'd make a world of difference. Cheers Jim, appreciate you man!
