Just purchased the Mixstream Pro for my workshop students to use next week. We have a full pioneer CDJ set in the studio but need separate units to unable more students to practice and enhance skills. I’ll let you know how it goes next week!

Denon, engine DJ and in music are really stepping up their game! They really are moving towards the future of dj’s everywhere this is really exciting!
This might be my own bias, full disclosure I’m NOT a DJ, but I find it hard to take dj’s seriously with equipment like this. I get it intermediate dj’s for sure, I’m definitely bias. I mean cool product but I wouldn’t play this out anywhere
@@adriannavarro2536 yea you’re right I wouldn’t take it to a club or festival but to have at home and practice without having to use a laptop is really cool especially at this price point. I like the idea of not having to look up, left or right to look at another screen I like to focus on what’s right on front of me and that’s why I think a player like this is definitely moving in the right direction for inmusic 👍🏼

@@lavishlifedjs I partially agree I guess. It’s just a personal opinion of mine, it feels like a leapfrog computer vs an Alienware. Don’t get me wrong is a really good product for what it is. But almost every prominent DJ is either on CDJ’s or have a some super complex midi controller setup.

Yes, me too. Hopefully will never need to use a backup but nonetheless, it's important to have one. Was planning on the Prime Go but this cheaper Numark fits the bill with the Engine OS & XLR out. Ideal for practice sessions without firing up the P4 too. Can't complain at £400 cheaper than the Prime Go.

I feel silly saying 'I told you so' to myself, but it's cool seeing that this came to fruition! That said, it feels a bit weird seeing Denon's waveform colour scheme with Numark, who's historically been red. The inbuilt speakers were VERY surprising in terms of volume and the frequency range, at least in terms of how it was picked up by Mojaxx's microphone.
Always wanted to learn how to mix. Just picked up the mixstream pro GO! It’s like a boombox on steroids! This thing is awesome!

I've looking for a standalone system but this also is a great portable backup system as well. Just think. If you run across a not-so-good DJ system or something happens while playing your set, You can plug this into pro speakers, use your Wifi hotspot on your phone and you are back on track. Besides, I feel it would be good to learn a different DJ software and Engine has done some major improvements.
I fully agree! Similar plan which I have. Secondary device for fun sessions PLUS a nice backup!

I've been thinking about switching from Traktor to Prime/Engine, but price has always been a factor, this might have just eleminated that factor.
If you play dance music then traktor is easily the best... S8 or a F1 remapped to dj with is what I use perfect

InMusic, Numark successfully did what Pioneer tried to do with the Flex 6 (a major fail), for the same price point. You get more with this product so its a win for a beginner.

Fully agreed! The FLX6 was a bloody, overpriced TikTok joke. This unit however is nice! Especially with FW 2.2

11:16 how did u manage to display the bpm&key for the songs? i tried so many ways analyzing in engine dj and exporting to my usb the analyzed tracks and still cant see the bpm&keys on my mixstream pro, i only see the song name and artist, even if i select metadata on the mixstream, could u please walk me through step by step on how to do it?
How about samples, like horn and Lazer effects? Are you able to change the pads to that?
The funniest and cool thing is you can connect analog synth to Mic so it add this sounds to your mixed drums at decks :)

Big question is wether in the future this would allow external MIDI devices being hooked up to the Mixstream main device and map Engine function onto those external devices to extend the control and usability.

Very wonderful product wish that it can be used with a computer just like Serato on virtual DJ programs if that option is available it would be a perfect by purchase
As other Engine products do work with software, there’s no reason it couldn’t, so fingers crossed!

this is a great device, just need a few changes, longer pitch, jogs from platinum fx to look nice with the screens, speakers moved to the top and cue/play buttons changed to alps switches like on pioneer
Newby here... I have 500gb of music on a hard drive but it the MS Pro does not find the files. I have tried copying section onto a formatted flash drive but it still does not work. Any clues please?

impressive unit for the price. kinda wish they swapped phaser for reverb though. I don't know a single person that uses phaser.
How do you use DJ drops with the machine?
Can you switch out the crossfader to something like the innofader on this unit ?

does anyone know how to increase the wavelength zoom on the mixstream pro. Not just zoom in/out with your fingers but be able to see farther ahead into the track. I see it in engine but not on the hardware
Not possible - yet. But requested in the forum. Moving the playhead marker a bit so it shows more of the track farther ahead!
Can’t wait to see a bigger version with bigger speakers and more control pads ,maybe move the speakers to the top instead
I’m so frustrated. I just got my new controller and I can’t mirror it with my laptop. I have virtual dj 8. I updated the controller and virtual dj program too. Still I don’t have positive results 😢
No manual loops (in & out)? & no adjustments of your effects? Pretty cool, but almost would wanna just use some older kit with my laptop and good software, but I like the concept, too much discrepancies for the 400 this should be like 400$ but if u really just want stand alone with the Denon OS it's ok

Can it be used with a computer? And one more question about another controller, Can Denon Prime be used with a computer to do live sets?
No, not yet at least. The point of this unit is to not use it with a computer - if you want a pure controller you could save a bundle and get the Mixtrack series
Can you record if you use Tidal or does it only work from tracks on usb?
Only offline songs. But this goes for ALL streaming services and DJ gear due to legal reasons :(

Well it's strange product, but I see in the future a big step brother with four channels sixteen pads, like Numark NS6ii type of controller, it will be awesome!
I InMusic already has the Prime 4. This fills the beginner gap at the bottom of the Engine OS range quite nicely though.
This device will change the game! Prime & numark cooperation had made something here & I guess it will change the industry, just imagine future Rane one with prime engine! & guess what Serato will make more effort building there own device Os! Oooh & Battle mixers with built in Serato or engine prime with Akai pad, wow & ummm do you think that possible ?!
Didnt qbert work on a thudrumble device with serato/traktor build in a few years back? Whatever happen to that i wonder...

They included a cable for computer so I think in the future it'll be MIDI mapped for a software as well. But we should ask Numark directly about this.

Nowadays with streaming DJs, do you really need expensive high end hardware? The OS is the key for this product. DJs and ppl are simple,: reliable workflow, no MacBook needed, a few thumb drives and you are good to go. Curios about them speakers

I have seen it running on a Linux emulator. Since the firmware is Linux based.

Why the speakers? Put a battery or 2 sets of pads, longer faders, filter where it should be... Losing about 1/6th of the space there. At 600$, this can be used in small clubs comfortably
But thinking of it playing at small gigs; typically at someones livingroom or garden. You drag some speakers; already decide to go with or without the heavy Sub. So 9 of 10 times you don't take a monitor speaker right!? But now you have it build in. Tune the volume at the right level and it is all good!! I see it working!

Wish they'd left out the speakers and given some fx control, and maybe some more pads. Could have been done for the same price...
I like the speakers idea though... You can have a late mixing session with the speakers not to loud.. If its late or a school nite... Don't have to worry about. The bass on your main speakers as they'll be off
Admire their push to streaming, but Engine OS is so far behind on simple organizational features for streaming--can't pre-analyze tracks, can't sort by BPM (or artist or track I believe), the list goes on...while Serato is not integrated, it's far better at doing this, also allows you to edit / add meta data and create and edit Tidal playlists in the software.
Once this changes maybe Engine OS will be a more worthy contender.
Pre-analysis is still a dream I have, but with Engine 2.0 you can now add streaming tracks to the actual library on your stick/card and then add them to playlists and sort them. Check out the last episode of this series.

they saved money by not including a battery that’s a big thing compared to the prime go.
