Damn bro I was hacked today and lost $15K worth of Crypto. A hacker got into my laptop remotely and found a document I had with all my passwords saved.
It all happened in minutes and then my Kucoin account was deleted, which means Kucoin now refuse to help.

Over the summer while I was on vacation 10 out 12 of my rigs at that time had scripts run to mine kawpow and take priority over everything on those rigs. Couldn’t change miners or configs or anything I had to make all new copy’s of hive for all rigs and reset my network. Luckily they couldn’t steal my crypto but they stole my power for three days! MOP - my pops always told me some of the best lessons in life are learned the hard way… I’m sorry. You’re a good dude karma will pay you back homie!!!

As a matter of fact, after about two and a half years of not losing any crypto I went to withdraw 3200 KDA that I mined from my Zelcore wallet to my Tangem and it disappeared into thin air. It’s a horrible feeling and I can’t imagine how that must have felt for you. All we can do is keep moving forward. Glad to see you back up and running full steam. Teachable lessons for all of us. #mop Great video. That was a hard lesson for you to learn. I lost some crypto back in 2021 due to my own stupidity and acting too fast. FOMO is a bitch. Luckily I only lost $225.00. But the lesson was learned. I now have a couple different hardware wallets and may get a third brand. I don't keep all my eggs in one basket anymore. I buy and mine like you do. We never seem to have enough though, do we? I've only been through one bull. Many lessons were learned during that run. I'm more than ready for the next one. Good luck in the upcoming bull run. Great insight. Additional Routers (in addition to the ones your cable/ telco gives you), VLANs, VMs, monthly password changes are great barriers to slow the hackers down...and the easiest of all of them don't open emails from people you don't know.

Facts. Stay humble throughout the crypto journey. Free items / airdrops, etc aren't worth it. Have distributed wallets perhaps to avoid having all crypto stolen at once.

I have been lucky from day one I got a hardware wallet. But I have stories of friends loosing tens of thousands. I always harp on anyone asking about getting into crypto to first go buy a hardware wallet before starting. Some don’t listen. Lots of ways to get scammed just need to be more responsible.

There is nothing funny about this. But you’re an amazing person to speak about all this to hopefully safe another person from the same mistakes.
I usually load a brand new copy of ubuntu onto a laptop after checking the hash of the image file then I type in the seed phrase manually before connecting the wifi and then after connecting to the internet I make sure I only have to hit enter, which I do within seconds after I've connected to the wifi. After that just shut down and slow format the laptop. For small change I would do all of the above and create a couple of paper wallets. Also after creating, moving or anything LIVE / HOT make sure you never check for confirmation of the transaction with the same machine/laptop & ip because that's were a traffic sniffer can put two and two together and start looking for social clues and engineering a way into obtaining access.
