This band defines my youth probably more than any other. Just about every song resurrects a vivid memory...some good, some not so good. Also really glad Skynyrd didn't allow themselves to fall victim to cancel culture and history erasing...the Confederate flag is not only the bands' brand, its a part of their Southern history, culture and family legacy. I'm sure everyone, even those outside of Texas have heard of the Six Flags Over Texas amusement park. Well those six flags are weren't just made up to be cute...they were sovereign nations that ruled over Texas at one point in history. While some were fairer than others, it would be ridiculous to start erasing the ones that don't fit today's narrative ...it's our history...good, bad , or ugly. And yes, one the six flags is the Confederate flag and one is also the Lone Star flag when we were our own independent nation. Today, Texas is one the most patriotic states in the U.S....very proud to be Americans but also recognize and remember the journey that got us here.
I love this song! Its alil bitter sweet. It reminds me of a moment in my life that Impacted me deep. A moment that i will go to my grave with a clear image in my head of it! It was a horrible moment that was the end of somthing great! So it's sad to think of that moment but its awesome to think i got the time i did! But Tuesday it was over.
I know what you mean! It was my brothers favorite song. As musicians we both played it together all the time. He died 10 yrs ago and I can’t play it anymore without crying. I’m tearing up now just listening too it.
I can't help but think of Dazed and Confused everytime I hear this. The end of the moon tower function when they leave to the football field 50 yard line. Magic
Really like Skynyrd, Especially Simple Man and of course Sweet Home Alabama Love the Southern Rock sound Marshall Tucker Band , Charlie Daniels, Allman Brothers, Thanks for sharing love the way you bring out the nuances of the songs and music
Story goes (as told by Ronnie Van Zant's own mother) that RVZ's divorce from his first wife was final on a Tuesday. Ronnie tied that into the song by using 'Tuesday' as a metaphor for his wife (Nadine was her name). Probably my favorite song (by any artist) of all time.
Thanks Don, always great to hear some Skynyrd! I had a 67 Chevelle in high school and wore out the "Second Helping" 8-track driving around blasting "Sweet Home Alabama" over my loud Thrush mufflers!
Nothin wrong with that. I remember thinking who's lynyrd skynyrd? What kinda name is that. Then my older brothers like " No idiot, it's a band"........lol Love it. Great memories.
One of the best songs. Can’t disagree with that, at all. Not bad for some southern boys from the wrong side of the tracks. If you concentrate on the lyrics without getting sucked into the music, it seems Tuesday broke his heart twice before he left her and his home(town) behind. “My baby's gone with the wind again” “Tuesday, you see, she had to be free, lawd but somehow I've got to carry on” I always took the train literally and as a metaphor for his blues pushing him to a place to start over.
The chemistry this band had was ridiculous.

These guys are a masterpiece. Its hard to beleive they grew up in the same ol town grinding and grinding and grinding until polished for us to love.
Always loved this song, one of the quintessential songs the represents that musical period for me

One of the best songs ever written. Regardless of what category you put it in!!

Played this at my cousin's funeral!!!
Neat little fact. The blue building on that album cover is the front of an office my dad worked at in the 70s.
Damn thats good. Nobody would have classified them as COUNTRY back then now they fit right in.
Don you know my story. I've always loved this song. But now it really hits home
Have only heard two songs by LS before, love them both, so don't know why I have not sought out more. This was great as well, very melodic.
Check them out. You won't be sorry.
Leon is one of my all time fav bassists ever
This is probably my favorite Skynyrd song. Hank Jr. Does a great version as well.

Mine was an 8 track in a 67 cougar with walker turbos......lol can still hear it in my mind.
I had a Coronet R/T clone with a 318....shhhhhh!
Nothin wrong with that. I remember thinking who's lynyrd skynyrd? What kinda name is that. Then my older brothers like " No idiot, it's a band"........lol
Love it. Great memories.
Love the videos Don!
Everytime I hear this song it reminds me of the party at the moon tower in dazed and confused
The orchestral sound comes from Al Kooper playing the mellotron.
Nick shoulders! Snakes and waterfalls!
Tuesday left him.

Please React/Rate Aint No Good Life by Skynyrd one of their most Underrated songs
Al Cooper had a lot to do with the "nuances". His hands are all over this album, and Al has worked with a lot of heavy hitters in the music industry.
I think Metallica does a great cover of this song. But yeah this is one of my fave bands.
