This is why I believe police officers should be accountable for misconduct! I dont want my tax dollars going to DIRTY COP COVER UPS.

Take it out of their pensions and salary and stop sticking tax payers with the bill for bad cops. Citizens are unknowingly funding their own abuse

Officers need to carry their own liability insurance so that taxpayers do not have to be burdened by their abusive behaviors.

No more police Unions making all the rules. If they dont like the terms associated with police brutality, get another job. But the city manager has to stick to his policy that protects the community not the cops.

This is why qualified immunity must be stopped. Cops like M.D.s Nurses and pharmacist must be required to carry malpractice insurance.

The taxpayers need to refuse to pay taxes until police brutality stops. We should not have to pay for the evil acts of the police.

How can it not be clear who has to pay? The cop and the police budget. Most police departments account for one third of the citys budget. Hold back a big portion for misconduct. At the end of the year and no claims they get it back.
    Simple

  • @mtw1234

I suffered false arrest at the hands of Indianapolis Police, pro se. The coverup went all the way to the USSC. That was in 1990 and it is still being covered up to day. 504 US 960 Jones v Indianapolis Police dept 119 L. Ed. 2nd. It has negatively affected my family, friends, medical care and the ability to obtain and keep a job.

The USSC found the police did nothing wrong. 504 US 960 Jones v Indianapolis Police dept 119 L. Ed. 2nd. I still have the Petition for a Writ of Certiorari. The only way to end egregious police misconduct would be to make the offending officer pay any fines or settlements out of their own pockets, and not the taxpayers. I am sure that what I proposed would result in outrageous weeping and wailing from most LEO's that ostensibly everyone to be responsible for their actions (except themselves), but have long lasting positive effects on police hiring practises. The taxpayers could certainly effect this with their votes if only they could bring themselves to start thinking critically and logically and instruct their elected representatives or those running for office accordingly.

Settlements for police misconduct lawsuits cost taxpayers from coast to coast: These settlements in the millions of dollars is a process of defunding the police, because the city can’t afford to pay for more police, or they raise the taxes of its citizens.
Hiring cops that has no self control cost the city taxpayers millions. City may just be forced to demand that the cops carry their own insurance to work as a cop in their city 🌆. I don’t see any other way. Taxes can’t continue to go up to placate the stupid decisions of cops.

The civil remedies were only enacted when the cost and burden of enforcing the constitution became cumbersome, in a day and age when sending a letter to california took weeks.
Id rather have a well funded federal marshals service than a system that relies on the relatives of the deceased suing for money.
Those are death penalty eligible crimes, and the cities pay to make them go away
