Thank you for making this tutorial! I've been spending the past several hours trying to figure out how to get GameCube games onto my Wii U and this video had me up and running GameCube games in 5 minutes!! I jailbroke my Wii U years ago with Tiramisu, and I remember seeing a Nintendont menu pop up at some point, I just don't remember how. So I searched around and it said you could launch it from the Homebrew Channel when you go into Wii mode. Well apparently I didn't have that, so then I read you had to jailbreak your vWii to get it setup, and it started giving me a headache because I needed to do all that, just to install a Nintendont button just so I could launch it to play a GameCube ISO, and then on top of that I was reading about how Aroma and was better, but I later found out it didn't have RetroArch support so I put that on hold for now. Your video basically said to get some Rhythm Heaven keys, find your GameCube ISO, and inject it with WUP Installer (which I already had on my Wii U's Homebrew Channel). Done!
For those that want to do phantasy star online 1&2 for it to work when is says set time to internet clock or online clock select NO and the game will run, if you select yes the game will get stuck in an endless loop of trying to fix the time and lock up and since you selected yes it will be saved on that file as yes. So, you would have to file the save file and delete it to get the option again to set online clock to pop up. So just remember just select NO and you will be fine. It says it's not compatible, but it works. But I can't remember if I used the patched version with Wii U helper (USE ISO TO PATCH or if i used UWUVCI as I have used both methods, but not sure which one i used for PSO. So, if one doesn't work try the other one.
by "choose your region" when selecting base ROM, do you mean the region you are in (i.e. the language you want the game to be in) or the region your console was originally locked to?
If someone could help me on this but my question is if I want to add my backup of Mario Party 9 to wii u virtual console do i need to have the virtual wii homebrew channel with USB loader gx/wiiflow or is that only just for gamecube games and nintendont? (If it sounds off what im trying to say is do i need to homebrew my VWii or is it fine if my wii u is homebrewed without the VWii. I recently modded it to aroma couple days ago loving it tho.)
I followed this guide and all my injects go to a black screen? I made sure to setup the SD card in UWUVCI, used the Nintendont Config tool so I got the nincfg file on my SD card, created the inject, used Wup installer to install. Click game Black screen? What am I missing?
what will happen if i want to update/ redo my config for nintendont? What i want is to force widescreen and add Wiimote Rumble and update the nincfg.bin file.
Hey man, I wanted to say that your videos are really useful, but I have 1 problem, every time I open the gamecube injected game, it crashes and goes back to the main menu, I've tried a lot of things (trying different backups, creating the WUP files from WiiU Usb Helper, downloading and installing Nintendont from UWUVCI, downloading and installing Nintendont from the website) I verified on every attempt that Nintendont was in the correct place, but yet still I can't make it work. Is there something that I'm missing or you have any solutions?
I'm running into the same issue. What's weird is at first the gamecube games were working fine, then literally a day later, with nothing changed, they stopped and it boots to the black screen. I tried deleting and reinstalling and it still boots to the black screen. Wii games work fine still, so idk what is going on. It looks like the Discord they don't respond often so I've been stuck for a few days trying to figure it out. I'll let ya know if I find a fix
So all of my injected gamecube games will sometimes freeze my wii u on startup. I literally have to unplug my console to get out of it. Anyway to fix this?
Can you dump your vWii save file on this version of the game? Like, I've already have a 100% save file for Mario Kart Wii that I've played on my vWii using usbloader and now I wanted to play CTGP-R from your wii u channel
For anyone playing paper mario thousand year door and some othe ngc games and getting a black screen or your wii u shuts off delete the save file in the SD card it's should be located in a file called saves
@@LL-hf6bi Didn't find a fix for it, but simply putting the games on the system itself works for me. [The left option] Apparently it's something you have to set up, and it's a external device I don't have, so you'll just have to put it on your console. Just make sure you have enough room
I commented this on the homebrewing video but just to make sure u see this, when i go to install WUP installer GX2 it says "No installable content found". Help?
when following this guide i cant start up gc games it gives an error for missing boot.dol i tryed installing nintendont to see if that works then it shows up with missing nincfg.bin when finding a file for that and outting it into the root of my sd there is no more error messages but the screen goes black on freezes up the wii u too the point where i need to unplug it to turn it off does anyone know afix for this?

hi, whenever i try to entr the title and common keys, I get black boxes where I should be able to paste the keys. I even tried clicking where i know the buttons would be and nothing. anyoone else have this probllem? its driving me nuts! I dont have a wii mote and really dont wanna have to get one to go through the virtual wii process. thanks!

I did your entire mod from soup to nuts from a stock Wii U. everything else works but for instance Mario Super Sluggers doesn’t work (except in the vWii) on the main wiiu page AND contrary to the website it doesn’t work with the gamepad at all. any help?
@SupermanR721 : I don't think this injector mod works for all Wii games. I went to the compatibility website listed in the video and there were only a handful of games listed on there. I think over all you are better off just loading your Wii games into the vWii.
It's strange to me that all these years later and memcard emulation is still not checked by default. I've never played anything without having that option selected. Is there even a use-case for a game where you WOULDN'T want it to remember your save? The only one I can think of is speedrunning perhaps.

It looks lile your games launch straight from the channel in Wii U mode. Everything I've tried it takes an extra 10-15 seconds of load to reboot into wii mode before launching the game. Any tips? Or is it just smooth editing?

I have a GCN game with a sucky control scheme that cannot be changed in-game. Managed to change the gamepad mapping, but the second I load the game, the mapping goes away as it boots wii mode. GC compatability list don't think has been updated, because Metroid Prime works on the latest Nintendont version. No problems booting it up.

It says verify wup files are correct and complete. DLC/E-shop require sig patch. How do I fix this 😢
You'll have to grab the sig patches file, refer to my Wii u guide if you don't know what that is

3:00 the rhythm heaven fever isnt downloading for me. The estimated time runs out, them it just stops and says: unable to estimate time or smth.
