Oh Mary I will surely miss your beautiful voice and all that was PP&M.. You were a light in my life for so many years. Rest now Mary and one day there will be a PP&M reunion above the clouds...
1986. From the oft-aired (on PBS) 25th anniversary concert. I saw them several times in concert, and was fortunate enough to attend the taping of the (equally oft-aired) holiday special in 1988. Peter pulled my (then) 4-year-old son out of the audience and led him around the stage in Westbury in 2002. Great singers, great folks. RIP Mary Travers.
I'll always think of Mary this way.. I love this performance, and remember the special on PBS so well. ~An irreplaceable entertainer. "Love, and compassion, and peace.. and all of us working for it together".. such a simple ideal can't really be impossible... is it?! Thanks Mary, we'll keep trying!
I remember watching this special on PBS... phenomenal.. I don't know of any other musical group--with the possible exception of Queen--that can get an entire audience sing any one of their songs, right along, and perfectly in tune on top of it~ Magic.
@Lsbud This was recorded In Nashville TN. 1986; I believe when first shown on PBS it was simply entitled "The 25th Anniversay Special. " Thanks for the upload; I haven't seen this in years.
It has always amazed me how many hits that they had that were wrtten by other top artist at the time, and their version was the bigger hit. Examples, this song which was wrtten by Bob Dylan, and Leaving on a Jet Plane written by John Denver. It shows exactly how talented they were.
Very nice and let me cry ! Thank you !

So many years we've shared. Where would we have been without you, and your songs? Where will we all go now? The answer is blowin' in the wind.
the voice of a true angel and a message of a true patriot. RIP Mary
