The reuse of the French menu is a nice touch, the editing though. I also like the echo at this part too. 2:36

Wow, I didn't know this release exists. I know about the French release with the unique THX trailer, but this is a new one for me.

It's the best I can manage, since getting the LD is essentially out of the question.

Your foreign DVD intros are always a treat to watch.

They're far less common, admittedly. This one's a bit of an oddity because it has the same menu and superimposes over the THX logo and all the French text on the menu, the latter rather sloppily.

@@homevideogallerySigh… Well, I know you got a couple Japanese VHS tapes, but are you planning to do Japanese VHS and DVD openings and closings of Kirby: Right Back at Ya!?

Sad. There are no T.H.X. logo on Japanese DVD and U.S.A. DVDs version. Mama Mia 😢

That’s because these DVD’s aren’t THX certified. I don’t know if it meant anything especially around the 2000’s.

@@loboqueso5392 It still meant something, yes.

Who’s the U.S. distributor of this film?

I believe it was initially Columbia-Tristar on DVD. It was re-released by Kino Lorber just last year on Blu-ray with only mentions of Gaumont and StudioCanal, so most likely they licensed the film for only a short time.
