      Bruce Lee never offered to die on a Cross to save the world from their sins. We are all sinners deserving of hell and then the lake of fire on judgement day. You must know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior for the forgiveness of your sins. .

    There's one moment in this that always makes me smile. His opponent says: "I beat him before. I'll beat him again." The problem is he never beat Bruce. He gave up, in front of witnesses, then struck the spine with a cheap shot to the back after the fight was declared over.

      Altough that fight did take place that’s not actually how Bruce hurt his back. In fact he had hurt himself trying A weight exercise called A good morning. He was always experimenting with different methods of strength training. Some beneficial, and some detrimental. This exercise proved to be the later, but the injury, and the fight were two separate incidents.Linda confirmed this in many interviews.

    All the various historical inaccuracies of this movie aside Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do style was revolutionary, amazingly flexible & powerfully effective, that "be like water" system of having no specific set of rigid techniques, just go with the flow all while adapting to the different styles that are confronting you. It was radically transcendent for its time & still is.
    Bruce Lee was thinking way outside of the conventional martial arts box, bending the rules & smashing through the envelope. That legendary superstar was on another level & dimension altogether. The ingenuity of his Jeet Kune Do system along with its overall, deadly effectiveness was truly exceptional & spectacular. Bruce Lee developed it & drew from that extremely fluid style, one that had no specific style, set of techniques or routine methods. Unprecedented. Immortal. Like the one who invented & cultivated it.

    While this makes good entertainment, it is not what actually happened. At the first Ed Parker Long Beach tournament in 1964 (which this scene is supposed to depict) Bruce did some demos and then had a light sparring match against his own student. He also took part at the 1967 tournament, and the films of that appearance are widely available on the internet, where he sparred against James Yimm Lee, his long time friend.

    Bruce Lee has never participated in any official martial arts competition in the United States.
    What he did was demonstrate ``Jun Fan Kung Fu,'' a modified form of Wing Chun that he had studied.
    At the venue, he gave an introduction to competitive matches while wearing protective gear, which was not common in the United States at the time, and demonstrated the differences between punches in karate and kung fu.
    At this time, he was still in the process of creating a new martial art called Jeet Kune Do.

    in there first fight bruce was winning, until off course the smuck kicked him in the back, when the fight was more or less done with, and bruce would have no doubt won, but then the other guy no doubt found a way to win after all, even if it was a move used by bullies and cowards, but as this opponent saw at least for him it was no doubt an honourable move, even if him using it showed that he had no honour after all, and while if bruce was like any other mortal man, then all he had to do was to slip into the ever lasting embrace of death, and in doing so all his pain and troubles would seep away, and so would his life force, but than we are not talking about just another mere man here, we are talking about the legend that is bruce lee, so while in reality he should be stuck in a wheel chair for the rest of his life, instead his destiny is not only to regain his strength and fitness, but also to no doubt come back as someone who is no doubt even stronger and fitter, than he was even before, and note to bruce`s opponent in this rematch, considering that although you should perhaps be calling him all sorts of nasty names, and thinking of even more ways to insult him while he is in his apparent wheel chair, but off course when you meet him again, and he`s not in said chair, don`t you think that not only is this a miracle that shows him to be more than any other human being, which any one else would be un capable of doing, unless they also possess not only the sheer strength of mr lee, but also just as no doubt as important, his focused and brilliant mind, that also helped him mentally get over this physical and mental destruction of his body and very soul, so after all of this and you not only demand a rematch, where you only won the first time around by cowardly attacking him literally from behind, and when his defences were down, and he had possibly no way to defend his self against said attack, but this time you also try the same move on him all over again, when no doubt you not only used it because it worked before, but also because of the coward that you are who knows you will soon lose all over again, but in using the same move and although at least for a moment it seems to works all over again, bruce recovers, and fights through any possible pain, and as his body is better prepared to defend this time against such an attack, he quickly recovers, and not only fights in a way that is more than a match for your fighting style, and he also shows the audience, and soon the world, that his own system of fighting, and his inner strength, are more than a match for what any other possible opponent can bring to the table, and especially if unlike bruce, your way of martial arts fighting is perhaps too traditional and not fluid enough, and while this is fine against an opponent, who seemly fights by your martial arts rules, and ways, and off course in possibly knowing what they will do next, you may well come up with a way to defeat them, but then when you come up against the sheer force of will that is bruce lee, who not only very probably knows all your techniques and off course how to defend against them, but also how can you possibly win against someone who is inventing and discovering his own system and style of martial arts, that know one knows about, but mr lee, and when you do not know what sort of attack is going to come next, and certainly not in what form, how can you possibly defend against said attack, when you cannot possibly know this style of martial arts, when it has only been invented a few moments ago, and is even perhaps being still invented, and certainly not by the man who is bruce lee.

      well , even if you dont belive in having pride and fight for it if needed , you can always chose how to end a fight , use more violence than needed or stop when your opponent is out of order , but of course , not fighting at all is the best .

    Bruce was right tho. I've seen street fighters beat so-called martial artists. Why? Because a street fighter is free in his movements and in his overall approach to fighting and violence. A karate guy lives and dies by his taught philosophy. Even if nothing he's trying is working. Even if he's 'losing'! His mind is so set to karate-mode that he'll just keep trying stuff. I personally believe that in fighting you have to have an unbound mind. Free from the shackles of heavily practiced 'uselessness'!

    • @stigtuneback1966
      @stigtuneback1966 Год назад +3

      well , of course you right aboute that and in that , both street fighters and ring fighters are fighters , but not in the same way , street fighters as you say has no limits compare to ring fighters , just like bruce said , free form be adeptfull , he did not compete cuz he did not belive in rules or degrees , a true streetfighter and survive to every price .

      Be as water, my friend. Jeet is a philosophy not unlike The Art of War. It is a philosophy of out thinking and out maneuvering your opponent. If your opponent boxes and has a greater reach, counter his boxing with kicks. If your opponent wrestles, counter his wrestling with trapping. Use whatever you have at your disposal to win. Never accept the way to lose. The enemy has only images and illusions behind which he hides his true motives. Destroy the image, and you will break the enemy.

    He fought with the strong side forward. They say he took that idea from fencing. Marvin Hagler did that in boxing. And that's why he knocked guys out with jabs, as he was fighting southpaw and his right was the lead hand.

    Just another reason I cannot stand this movie. Supposedly based off his wife's book, so much of this film is not only false but borderline ridiculous. When the late Jerry Poteet who was not only training Jason for the role, but was one of Bruce's original students quits the film because of its absurdity you know there is a problem. And I love that they don't even get Bruce's hair length correct for each time period. Chalk this up next to Tarantino's moronic version of Bruce. SOMEONE MAKE A DECENT FILM ON THIS MAN!!!!
