Majority of the jobs are filled through employee referrals or Manager's hire their own buddies or promote internally.
Yup.. that is a true statement.. which creates those "phantom job" posts. Especially in the DoD field.

Additionally, showcasing your skills and accomplishments through platforms like LinkedIn can attract attention from hiring managers. While it can be challenging, persistence and strategic networking efforts can help you navigate these dynamics effectively. I work in the tech industry and sooo happy I have a job because I had to leave IT in 2009. For those reading this in IT unemployed I feel you as I have walked your path during the last recession. You got to take side jobs and move back in with your parents and take tech jobs for help desk for 2 to 4 years to get back in IT. It sucks but remember gaps matter and HR still blames YOU not the market if you are unemployed. Put something down no matter what it is
Simple. Because people are honest instead of lying strategically to get what they want.

when there's a limit to our personal growth in terms of money at workplace then how go beyond that limit of success ? Do people really care Value and are willing to do anything to keep creative and value providing people in their office..

What advice do you have for those of us who temporarily retire until the market goes back to sanity?

During this period, it's essential to focus on personal growth, skill development, and maintaining financial stability. Consider pursuing educational opportunities, freelancing, or starting a side business to stay engaged and generate income. Additionally, stay connected with your professional network and keep an eye on market trends to ensure a smooth transition back into the workforce when the time is right. Remember, temporary retirement can be a valuable opportunity for self-improvement and preparation for future career endeavors.
What if we’re unsure about how positively they perceive my referral within the company, and I inadvertently undermine myself?
Great question. If unsure about how positively your referral is perceived within the company, discreetly gauge their perception before relying heavily on it. Emphasize your qualifications and achievements independently in your application and interviews. Focus on showcasing your capabilities during the interview process to leave a positive impression.
