This is a very underrated NC "We're like **shimmy** special." "I expected much more from Dairy Queen." "The only thing I'm good at is riding this bike." "Wow that's unbelievably sad." **Last Crusade music** "Now if you will, Bart, crank that Tom Jones."

Huminor The Fool That's hilarious XD And it reminds me of the time me and my dad entered a parking lot to escape traffic, and it turned out the other exit was chained off so my dad shouted "OH! ISN'T THAT SPECIAL??" XD
I've found a movie named "Woah" (www.imdb.com/title/tt2865544/) and one named "RRRrrr!!!" (www.imdb.com/title/tt0357111/) No AAAAH though... Creativity :D
The old guy at 2:09 is Boothby, the groundskeeper at Star Fleet Academy who was a friend and mentor to Picard (and whose likeness was later used by Species 8472).
I loved this movie, and still do. Everything you said was spot on, but it does not change the fact that I love this film and still have it on VHS when I recorded it off of HBO. GETTING READY TO BREAK THE ICE!!
Isaac Clorke How many Germans watch these videos?
A movie called Rad could be really cool, if it was recent and was super over the top. Now if it was made in the 80's it would turn out, well the fact that NC is reviewing it tells you everything.
Lol yeah it's the BMX community. They consider it the only reasonable bmx movie (which is bloody sad), so they protect it like nothing. No one else has bothered to watch this movie and rate it, so it ends up wildly scewed.
"Do you need to know the plot? No. Do you need to know the characters? No. Do you need to know anything about this movie outside of the title to know it absolutely sucks?" Sounds like the Emoji Movie
Fun fact: This is the movie with the biggest discrepancy on rotten tomatoes. 5 out of 5 reviews butchered it, resulting in an official 0% on RT. Meanwhile, over 7000 people from the audience rated this movie and it got a 91% audience rating. There is NO other movie in the database with such a gap between those two ratings.
1:40 I like it how he uses the music from Paperboy, it definitely works, but I would've also put in the main theme from Skate or Die in some parts of this review
@don't... it is a cult classic. It directly influenced the extreme sports you see today. Without RAD, you wouldn't have the x-games. It was that influential to kids around the time it came out. It didn't do well in the theaters, but it did gangbusters on home video. It is so popular, they even had a reunion in 2011. Doug was just slightly too young to see its influence.
01:12 "rape the eyes"!?!?!? D: Even the old man rides a BMX bike? When has an old geezer ever ridden a BMX bike...in a bow-tie and ivy-cap, no less? This is truly the Huffy universe...
I never knew the American Dad riff when Stan and Fran bike to see who gets to parent Steve was an ACTUAL reference until today. I just figured they were making fun of standard 80's underdog athlete movies.
The only thing I remember from this movie is the John Farham sung songs. That's all. While he is my favorite Aussie singer, he isn't going to please everyone. He is like Australia's Micheal Bolton. You love him or not.
Dva I thought it was about an unicorn that wanted to become a cop, but his mother wants him to become a singer, and he has to work with his best friend in order to get to the top of Mt Everest in order to find an old wizard and get a magical potion that will make his mother help him complete his dream.
It's like Mr. Rodgers riding a Harley, or PeeWee Herman Riding a SuperMoto. It just doesn't fit their attitude. They should have put the old man on a more"Old Person" style bike.
Actually, I like to see an episode of Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood where Mr. Rodgers opens up the show driving up on his Harley. And Pee Wee Herman riding a Supermoto seems enough crazy to fit into the show.
The title's great because "Rad" is another word for bike in German.
Mister Master Muffin Man Maybe this movie is promoting special vehicle brands from Germany?
Mister Master Muffin Man isn't it Fahrrad?
Fahrrad is the correctl term, but Rad (literally "wheel") is probably used equally often, it's just shorter and people are lazy. :P
"Rad" means wheel in german. "Fahrrad"(directly translated drive wheel) means bicycle but some people use rad as shortcut.
I was gonna make that joke. Darn.
This is a very underrated NC
"We're like **shimmy** special."
"I expected much more from Dairy Queen."
"The only thing I'm good at is riding this bike." "Wow that's unbelievably sad."
**Last Crusade music** "Now if you will, Bart, crank that Tom Jones."
You could say it’s considered “special”
Duke Best: *slam!* THINK about it!
Muppets: Ahh!
what was sad was that Rocky's wife thought that a bike race would somehow prevent the kid from going to college in some strange way.
It's a well known fact that 80's college administration felt threatened by centrifugal force
Yeah, she treats it like he’s gonna choose pursuing a life as a RUclipsr over going to Harvard or something
@@benm5970 Laughs in Mr. Beast
I love how he's uploading a lot of his older lost stuff. It seems so nostalgic even though I've never seen any of it. I love that feeling.
weirdlystrange2000 did he have an older channel that got deleted?
Cursed By Beauty He switched channels.
weirdlystrange2000 nostalgic for the nostalgia critic...
I don't know about his channel, but a lot, I mean a LOT of his videos has been deleted for copyright infringement

"I killed a family in World War II. That's why I have such a harsh outlook on reality."
All in favor of seeing a movie about the old man and the way he deals with his demons say "Aye."
docdave15 There probably are movies about that sort of thing.
Aye
Aye!
Aye!
Aye!
I know it's a bit random but... that bald police officer would have made a great Robotnik/Eggman...
I thought the exact same! Commented about it too. He looks so much like him.
"I've watched these kids grow up. I've chased every one of them."
Um...
We had a cop like that
"-Hey, listen.
What would Jesus do?
-Take me.
-Okay"
So deep bro, so deep.
This was "swag" and "yolo" of the 80s. See? Every decade sucks.
and will suck
I'm sooo impatient to see in what ways the 20s gonna suck !
At this point nuclear amergedan or the rise of the mechines,PS5s becoming selfaware and breain washing us
At least "yolo" has a meaning. Otherwise, yeah.
You misspelled 'congratulations'.
"Katie and I are like... special!" Could someone make a gif of that, PLEASE?
Thomas The Ninja Artist use captions

This whole movie made me die on the inside
Huminor The Fool That's hilarious XD And it reminds me of the time me and my dad entered a parking lot to escape traffic, and it turned out the other exit was chained off so my dad shouted "OH! ISN'T THAT SPECIAL??" XD
Matthew Pineau Omap XD
To this movie's credit, it had some kick ass music. 80's music was the best.
It's like calling a movie "Epic"- oh wait
It's like calling your movie, Epic Movie, Oh wait.
Avakrr Like the "Epic" movie from Blue Sky Studios XD
18Gingasoldier Good job you found the joke!
Does anyone remember that movie
there is actually a book called EPIC!, and it is a REALLY good book
There should be a movie called, "Woah".
Ezra Anderson or "AAAAH"
I've found a movie named "Woah" (www.imdb.com/title/tt2865544/) and one named "RRRrrr!!!" (www.imdb.com/title/tt0357111/) No AAAAH though...
Creativity :D
six2make4 Thank you
I liked "RRRrrr!!!" growing up
Ten bucks says that's gonna be the name of the bio-pic about Keanu Reeves.
The only way you could do more 80s than that is by filming the kids from Breakfast Club playing NES and Rubikscube while listening Cindy Lauper.
Takuan Soho And all of them would have mullet’s that would make lions jealous of them.
Don't forget having The Goonies playing on the TV in the background somewhere
Takuan Soho Now that’s a movie I would definitely watch.
And have it filmed in Chicago since every 80's movie ever is always set in Chicago.
Holy shit this is the most 80s thing ever.
You take that back!
Grim Knight Never
Take it BACK!!!

the paperboy reference made me smile.

Are you Mike Stoklasa?
fun fact, rad is actually the German word for wheel. I will give this movie the benefit of the doubt and assume it wanted a interesting foreign name.
I loved this movie, and still do. Everything you said was spot on, but it does not change the fact that I love this film and still have it on VHS when I recorded it off of HBO. GETTING READY TO BREAK THE ICE!!
The 2018 remake will be called "Lit"...
This movie is so forgettable I forgot NC did a review on it.
To an 8 year old kid, Rad was AWESOME! One of my favorites growing up.
Rad is also the german word for wheel
is good pun
Isaac Clorke and for bike too
Isaac Clorke How many Germans watch these videos? As a Japanese Yakuza once said
"That's rad!"
....holy shitballs!
am I the only one who really likes those hand drawn thumbnails
14:48 Didn't know Dr. Eggman was in this movie. "Get a load of this! I have a speech!"
Rad is german for wheel.
The more you know
Apocolo toth I was just about to comment that. ^^
Apocolo toth also, it means bicycle too
And Danke is German for Thank.
*puts on pretentious glasses* nnnweeelll, actually Dank would be the word for that
13:45 Is the Nazi theme from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade... bit of a leap but hell German references and my favorite gag in the review :P
that burger king joke is relatable for me..
If you were German you could already tell what it is about, before you even watch it.
Luxra still a terrible pun
This movie has the biggest difference between critic and audience reviews on rottentomatoes than any other movie.
Holy crap, you're not kidding...
Lol yeah it's the BMX community. They consider it the only reasonable bmx movie (which is bloody sad), so they protect it like nothing. No one else has bothered to watch this movie and rate it, so it ends up wildly scewed.
"wow critic's talking a bit too fast. did he up the speed of the video?" *doesnt realize the settings changed and the video is playing at 1.25 speed*
That moment when Channel Awesome re-uploads a review you haven't seen yet. 😄😄😄
Nice to see that police officer Robotnik saves the day and let that dude bike.
this has always been one of my top five NC episodes and I'm so happy to revisit it on my marathon full run through at last.
Gorbachev-tastic is due for a comeback. Let's make it happen people.
I could of SWORN this was a Rocket Power Episode.
don't disrespect rocket power
Rewatching it, it had a lot of cringy episodes, but I found myself watching them again anyway. Tito and Ray will always be Nick's Greatest characters.
HellRay Probably, i mean rocket power wasn't exactly good
These old ass episodes kill me I don't what it is I guess when he is by himself without sketches he has just enough charm to make it work

9:37 I wonder if that homemade waterslide is still there.
IcYGodZ To be fair it would be much more fun than watching Rad.
There's no time limit on when you can take the SATs, you just need to prep before you take them. Also be prepared for a long ass test.
At 14:50, hey look it's Dr. Eggman/Robotnik! LOL🤣
This film is even more genius than the surfing ninjas.
The Optimus/Megatron part had me in tears 😂

We had Yuri on Ice, now meet Yuri on BIKES
EverythingIC your being too nice to this movie
Leo Welch you're
The part of the police officer will now be played by Dr.Eggman.
You know what the definition of rad is? Sonic the hedgehog on a skateboard.
TheIntimateAvenger That would explain why Eggman is here.
I love the basic review that don't have huge manufacturer. they are so good
Why didn't Lori Loughlin buy his way into the race?
Critic you should do Eragon! (The movie)
Lycan_Jedi Gameplay Heck yeah
Second this^
He should do Hollow Man.
He has.
"I don't even want to know what she's doing to that seat!"
I... kinda do?
1:40 I like it how he uses the music from Paperboy, it definitely works, but I would've also put in the main theme from Skate or Die in some parts of this review
You can't be early to a video, you can be on time.
Why can't people realize this?
Actually you can't be on time either. You're always a few seconds late.
Rad was not radical.
No it was tubular
Whoa, didn't know Dr. Robotnik was in this movie. No wonder he's evil.
The clip of Pee wee's Big Adventure was a nice touch xD
4:32
the police guy in the motorbike looks like Prof. Egg man :D
I know right...he's trying to catch em before they gotta go fast.
Moon Sailor since when was he called prof egg man
0% on Rotten Tomatoes
Tristan Hartup What's strange is that, on rotten tomatoes, 91% of the audience actually *LIKED* this movie.
@don't... it is a cult classic.
+Dregory Dewhard Just because it had influence doesn't mean it isn't a bad movie.
bad is subjective
Dregory Dewhard Doug was in the target age range when the movie came out.
Fun fact: The german word "Rad" is the short form of "Fahrrad" meaning "bike". ;)
13:45 This is by far my favorite bit in the review. Great reference to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade! XD
Damn you Nostalgia Critic for bringing back up the Saw-op clip. You almost made me die off laughter.
I misread the title as Raid as in The Raid. I am severly dissapointed!
This movie is incredible. It also has an insanely good soundtrack. I went to the 35th anniversary showing, and it was totally worth it.
01:12 "rape the eyes"!?!?!? D:

Scott Pilgrim??

at 1:23 the center biker failed his wheelie.
your going to need a rad miracle, a radacle if you will
It´s especially funny to me because "Rad" is german for "Wheel" and a common abbreviation of "Fahrrad" meaning Bycicle...
The 80s is strong in this one.
I never knew the American Dad riff when Stan and Fran bike to see who gets to parent Steve was an ACTUAL reference until today. I just figured they were making fun of standard 80's underdog athlete movies.
Whoa...
funny thing is that "rad" is the german word for "bike"
Lara Smith I was thinking the same, greetings from Austria.
greetings back also from austria
RAD is an awesome 80s movie!
So this is what American Dad made fun of?
This is the most generic review ever.....and it's still better than this movie!
what if there was a movie call awesome
Nasaya Lucero I mean there is one titled "kickass".
And if Doug reviewed it, he would be reviewing "Awesome" on Channel Awesome. *mind explosion*
Broeckchen kickass earned it's name though.

Please review Gremlins, you simply must.
its a good movie...he doesnt really do good movies
How unfortunate, it's still "nostalgic" though.

5:10 it's like they have that odd villain-hero friendship from Tom & Jerry

Tell me about it
Back in 2015, I was in a Portland bar with my mother and friends--a bar with '80s and '90s memorabilia. At one point, this film was playing on the TV.
did you re render these older episodes?? the footage is looking nice a crissssp!
The Paperboy theme got me. 😂😂😂
The name is a pun. Rad in german means bike.
The only thing I remember from this movie is the John Farham sung songs. That's all.
While he is my favorite Aussie singer, he isn't going to please everyone. He is like Australia's Micheal Bolton. You love him or not.
