Love image variations. Would enjoy hearing you two talk about online offerings that have image variations like black & white (i consider golden hour image variations)and throwback thursday.
Chris here - Topps Black and White are great looking cards. I just dont know if they need to be a standalone set? Why not have them be inserts, because the sticker autos in the product really hurt my overall interest.

@@BellTunnel the last couple years the Chrome SSP have been right around 100 copies - based on the pack odds. I didn’t do the math this year, but no reason to think there are more than 100.

Great video…man just my luck…I pulled the Dominguez Chrome Update SP witu him getting mugged by Soto. The card went from Aces to 8’s overnight when Soto went to the Mets.

Chris here - my personal opinion is that ToppsNow are more like souvenirs than real cards. We try to stick to pack pulled cards for our lists. That said I do have some ToppsNow cards of moments I particularly enjoyed or one I was lucky enough to see in person !

I actually think almost all of them collect and care. Some of these choices make me question everything about human existence, but I do truly think they care. I mean, how else would you end up working there if you didn't care about cards at all? Baffling decisions aside.

The Mookie Stadium Club SSP image would have been cooler if they hadn’t used a nearly identical image of the same moment for one of his 2023 Topps NOW cards.
There's a great shot on the Getty Images site of essentially the same moment but zoomed out so you can see the crowd giving him a standing ovation. Very very cool shot and I wish that had made its way onto a card in 2024. I don't mind Topps using images from ToppsNow. I honestly don;t really consider ToppsNow to be cards in the traditional sense - more like souvenirs. Reminders of cool moments. I'd hate to think Topps wouldn't use an image in a real set because it's already appeared on ToppsNow.

My favorite part of this show and the short print/image variation niche... the cards sell a story. Not some gimmicky insert or unnecessary parallel.
