Out of curiosity, why use MeshLab over Blender (also has a decimation feature & export to STL/OBJ)? If it's because 3D modeling software like Blender / 3DS Max / Maya have terrible UX, Blender actually improved a lot to more closely mirror standard controls / UI since you may have last tried it. And, especially for viewers who have no 3D modeling experience, is a lot more beginner-friendly now (both in how intuitive / simplified it is, and how many tutorials/resources/help are available for it being more of a standard option than MeshLab)

Honestly, I never knew Blender had the option for decimation. I'll have to give it a try sometime and see if it operates better than Mesh Lab. I only use Mesh Lab as it's the program I first learned this process on and continued using it for years. Thank you for the Blender tip =)
