In hindsight, yeah it would've made a great closer for the video lol. The picture on the right was a few years old by that point, and the gauntlet is now painted and part of my suit, but I should've made one again just for the reveal. Ah well, another time, perhaps for the new tutorial I plan on making soon for Silhouette Prop Making Using Pep Designer.

I don't think you can categorize certain sections like that. Only way I know you could kind of do it would be to move the pieces on the 2D plane into sectioned off areas. I've done that before for full suit unfolds, moving all the leg and arm pieces to certain rows of the papers.

Figures Ghub would have an update right after I got done doing this lol. For mapping wise though, I had the wheel shifters be Fire and Grenade, Gas was move forward, Brake for backwards, left and right on the wheel for looking left and right, and then the top 2 buttons on the center of the wheel were look up and down. Those are most of the bare bones minimal you need, though if you are doing Halo 3 you WILL need to map at least Jump as well. The first level won't let you pass unless you have it mapped. If you can get the other center wheel buttons to map separately I recommend setting it to one of those, my G27 wheel for some reason wouldn't let me use anything other than the top 2. Pick-Up weapon/Drive Vehicle is also needed. Melee is optional as is swap grenade. That's all I can think of. If you have any trouble getting Ghub to co-operate I recommend getting the program: X360ce. It turns pretty much any controller into and xbox360 controller. Wii-mote, steering wheel, fishing rod, flight stick, you name it. Best of luck dude, and have fun =)

Do you mean turning Pepakura files into 3D files? If so, then yes! Load the pep file in, then go to File>Export>Texture Editing>3D Model with UV Info. This will convert it back into a 3D model.

Will that work on any pep file so it can be 3d printed and do I use same programs in the video still haven't watched it been busy sadly

@@zanruos88 It will, but it may not make it instantly 3D print ready. It depends on how the file was first loaded into the program originally. More than likely it'll have flaws, though I have had 1 or 2 print ready ones come out of it before.

Yes, though you'll need the full purchased version of Pepakura Designer. Go to: File>Export>Texture Editing> 3D Model with UV info. This will change it from a .pdo file to a .obj file.

You'd think my brain would've picked up on that after doing it accidentally once or twice, but nope lol. For some reason I kept on grappling them on the ledge and wasting time. It was good to reminisce, but man is that game harder than I remember when I was younger.

It would make life a lot easier, for sure lol. But I wanted to try and keep it realistic to the game where you only have 1 hand to work with. Plus this was a test to see if optimizing the wii mote for certain games could work. Sadly the forward and backwards motion did not track, and I'm not sure how to further relate that into other games yet. Thank you for the suggestion =)

You can absolutely load and run Pepakura files through Armorsmith. Armorsmith offers a a few things that Pepakura Designer does not have, including mannequins scaled to your measurements, loading multiple files at once, and non uniform scaling. There is a function for file unfolding, and though I've never used it personally I've heard from other unfolders it's not the greatest and they go back to Pep Designer for that function. Weather or not those additional functions warrant the cost of Armorsmith I'll leave up to you. I personally only ever use it to scale very odd pieces or to see how a full set looks on my mannequin.

Fixes like that can be done in 3D modelling software, true. This tutorial however was designed for those who may have very limited or no skills in 3D modelling software, such as myself.

Honestly, I never knew Blender had the option for decimation. I'll have to give it a try sometime and see if it operates better than Mesh Lab. I only use Mesh Lab as it's the program I first learned this process on and continued using it for years. Thank you for the Blender tip =)

For sure. The metal blades alone already increase the weight. Then you add in all the mechanisms and extra handle size, ammunitions. It'd be absurd lol

Never said it was your fault. I take full responsibility for the Ghost breaking last time. Hell I was on the back of it trying to rock it up into a wheelie for you shouting "You got this!" lol

It's ok, it takes time to understand everything. I'd say it took me about 2-3 years to fully understand everything you can do with the program and how things translate inside it. So don't stress it, and if you have any questions feel free to ask them. I'm here to help =)

Which aspect are you looking to simplify? The unfolding process or the finished product? I think I'm unsure of what you're asking.

It boils down to how detailed the model is. The higher the count of faces the harder the program is going to try and figure things out. I have come across a few files before that for some reason have glitches or faults in the loading process, but unfortunately I never figured out what caused them. You could run the file through a mesh mixing program like... Mesh Mixer, and change the face value, but sometimes that just adds to the mess. In the end it's just trial and error with the files.

Yeah. Though unfortunately the project is long dead at this point. Turned out to be way bigger than I had anticipated and I moved on. Ended up making the Ghost instead which worked out pretty good. Maybe once I'm retired in 30+ years I'll tackle the tank project again. When Halo 15 is out lol

There's a couple places I frequent for files. Thingiverse.com, Sketchfab.com, and Pepakura.eu The first and last sites contain the file for the Gundam Strike helmet used in this video.

The models resource has game rips. But they’re hit or miss in terms of the quality of the rips.

Yo, that is awesome! I had no idea that was even happening. I thought it was gone forever, but as always community fans find ways to keep beloved games like this running forever =)

Check and make sure that the file is either .obj or .stl. If it is, right click on the file and find "Open with" From there you should be able to select Pep Designer. If not, pick the "Pick another App" and then find the program on your computer. If the file is not in either of those formats it may not be able to open properly with the program and therefore cannot work.

I know why, I never unmuted track 1 which has the intro and full game audio fffffuuuuuuu.... Should I re-export it?
