His Scott Pilgrim take was actually great. Van choosing Hancock however blew my mind. Funny enough, that movie was written by no other than Vince Gilligan
Great call. I'll offer up Lawrence of Arabia. Its widely considered one of the best 'white guy emerges themselves in a foreign culture and becomes the best at it' movies and no women even speak in it either.
The Midnight Boys on RUclips is just the greatest thing. Audio podcast is one thing, but seeing this chaos and jokes makes it even 10 times better. Facts.
I disagree with Robocop. There are 3 black main characters with speaking parts and none is a thug. Politician, exec and a police chief. None of them die either. For the 80’s thats unheard of.
@@CrookedShoeTalesClarence's black henchman who giggles for no reason, the black executive spends the whole movie kissing Bob Morton's white ass, and the black Sargeant is the stereotypical angry black police sargeant.

Batman begins is white as gosh darn heck. An edgy anxty billionaire goes to learn from ninjas to avenge his parent's death. The master of said ninjas? White dude fantasy 101 😤 And his love interest is Katie frickin Homes! Anything Dawson's Creek adjacent definitely bumps it up a notch
Forty minutes in and this might be a funnier draft than the time Charles picked Piccolo, Comic Book Storm, Optimus Prime, Domimic Tarreto lmao (& I still die laughing on repeated watches/listens)
@@eoghan1023 Look for the first Black Heroes of Fandom Draft - the thumbnail should be Black Panther, Miles Morales and Blade, left to right, from two years ago (They've done three but I believe there's only video of the first from a couple of years back) I put it on in the background whenever I'm doing work cause it never fails to make me laugh. Poor Charles in this one lmao.
I always found the karate kid movies absurdly white. This is a Japanese martial art and there isn't one Asian teenager in the San Fernando Valley who is competing in the tournament. Moreover, I can't see a version where Terry Silver from karate kid 3 is not white.
The San Fernando Valley was really white in the early 1980s. Asians were a tiny percentage of the population and most of them were Korean and Filipino. Karate is more of a Japanese and Chinese thing. Definitely should have been a couple Mexicans though.
That BttF pull from Van is brilliant and I somehow never thought of that for shame. But it has a moment with the band and Biff’s stooges calling them spooks. Van wow you whiffed forgetting that.
Superhero - Wanted (recasted a black role with Jolie) Comedy - Animal House Action - Face Off Oscar - 12 Years Of Slave (I Said What I Said) Wild Card - Shaun Of The Dead/High Fidelity
Superhero: Sky High Sci Fi: Predator Oscar: Lawrence of Arabia Sports: Rudy Action: Goldfinger Comedy: The Hangover Horror: Halloween Also, charles 100% won this draft.
The Midnight Boys needs some Merch !!!! A "Recklessly Nutting" T-shirt should be the first item available. (Idea - A squirrel with a pile of nuts around him that look like footballs and basketballs. Take my moneyyyy !!!!

That in itself disqualifies Star Wars franchise as a whole. We’ve had black representation and even star roles in all of the new Star Wars content too.
Whitest Movie Draft: 1) The Titanic 2) Cleopatra 3) Death Wish 4) Top Gun 5) Rocky 6) The Blindside 7) Pretty Woman 8) Good Will Hunting 9) Braveheart 10) The Matrix. Honorable mentions Flash Gordon Dirty Harry LOTR Home Alone The Blues Brothers & West Side Story
I’d love to see a Rewatchables of this episode. Just to see the reactions from Simmons and Fennessy. And then see if Chris Ryan does the Wayne Jenkins as D-Will Jenkins lmaooo
What about Shawshank Redemption…based on the logic of if you change a character does it change the movie…Red was supposed to be an Irish guy and was played by Morgan Freeman
Technically, remember the titans is a white savior movie because even though Washington is the head coach the hero turns out to be the offensive coordinator played by will Patton because in the movie will Patton saves denzel from being fired due to the racist education system.
The most chaotically good show on the Ringer
Nerd media***
It always gets the most laughs out of me.
The Whitest Movies Draft aka every Bill Simmons Rewatchables episode.
yoooo, this is dead spot on🤣
💀💯%
True but he loves Denzel, Sam Jackson, and other black led movies. But yes some very white movies in the catalog 😂
🤣🤣🤣 He did Purple Rain a few weeks ago and I was like “Switched it up didn’t we?” Lol
Chill he gave us Juice
Drake being Scott Pillgram who is dating a High Schooler is hilarious
A minorrrrr!!! 😂
And arguably doesn't change the movie at all!😂
La La Land is a banger but Charles cooked with Scott Pilgrim and Napoleon Dynamite
His Scott Pilgrim take was actually great. Van choosing Hancock however blew my mind. Funny enough, that movie was written by no other than Vince Gilligan
Napoleon Dynamite was the first movie I thought of when I saw the theme of this draft. It’s a perfect pick.
Nah its Dead Poets Society. How it didnt even get mentioned not alone win?? Ridiculous
For my money, Gone with the Wind might be the whitest film EVER.
Great call. I'll offer up Lawrence of Arabia. Its widely considered one of the best 'white guy emerges themselves in a foreign culture and becomes the best at it' movies and no women even speak in it either.
My thoughts exactly
Grease 2. The first song is more white than LoA and Gwtw combined.
Nah its Dead Poets Society
@@blessembreaks ugh. Thats a pretty good pick. You got 1 or 2 more? I feel your locked in the right way.
This podcast will be studied for generations

Jomi won the white people hat draft from the jump.
Surprised no one said Titanic
That's the number 1 pick 😂😂😂
No breakfast club or Forrest Gump is crazy work
I was thinking breakfast club cos they coulda had atleast one of the kids be black, but no.
For the role of Forrest I agree, but they cooked with Bubba and his shrimping
No Dead Poets Society just shows how out of touch these ppl are.
Jomi going full white guy with the KFB NASCAR jacket
Plus the Bass Pro Shop hat lmao Jomi got on full cosplay
SUPERHERO: The Rocketeer
SCI-FI: Robocop
OSCAR: Monsters Ball
COMEDY: Ferris Bueller's Day Off
ACTION: Escape From New York
HORROR: The Exorcist
I was just thinking of the Rocketeer! A movie from 1991 that sort of glorifies the 1930's, I feel that's a very white movie.
I disagree with Robocop. There are 3 black main characters with speaking parts and none is a thug. Politician, exec and a police chief. None of them die either. For the 80’s thats unheard of.

lol Steve fighting for his life in this pod

Ever since his Geordie LaForge pick in the Black characters draft, you could tell he'd have his moments 😂

On the Denzel discussion, Glory can get pretty white savior-y at times.
As far as the draft goes, Footloose is the whitest movie ever made.
@@ajgator7 Denzel literally had a white daddy savior in his 80s movie Carbon Copy.

I'd have gone that or Honey I Shrunk the Kids for comedy.
If Weekend at Bernie's isn't on the list, fire everyone here.
500 DAYS OF SUMMER
Seriously could have gone #1 overall. First movie I thought of.
Not drafting ferris or any molly ringwold movie blows my mind.
First movie that comes to mind is Titanic
Field of Dreams and really any old Christopher Nolan movie should qualify
Field of Dreams is a good one
Shocked The Princess Bride wasn't in the conversation.
#1 - Whatever the F*** Movie 43 was
BIG LEBOWSKY, MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL
44:02 "When he was writing on that board all you woulda heard was the shots." Fell out of my chair laughing. Van is so goddamn funny.
A few that jump to mind-
American Pie
Gone Girl
Grease
The Holiday
The Royal Tennenbaum bit and Van's stance on La la land got me in stitches😂😂😂
I had no idea black people loved Wet Hot American Summer
This show never disappoints
Van's LA LA LAND take is incredible

3 white guys and one black guy drafting.

This was a real fun episode and would love to see more of this type of episode when things are slow and there’s no hype show to talk about.
They are too young for that one.
Home Alone is top ten whitest movies of all time
When Christian Bale gets his Hughy Lewis freak on in American Psycho... that is the White Guy HOF.
INSANE misfire not to have SUPERBAD, especially with the aforementioned King of the yts, Michael Cera

whats the movie charles said that got bleeped? at the top
A few additional suggestions:
Caddyshack
Footloose
Any John Hughes film
Stand by me
American graffiti
Superhero - Wanted (recasted a black role with Jolie)
Comedy - Animal House
Action - Face Off
Oscar - 12 Years Of Slave (I Said What I Said)
Wild Card - Shaun Of The Dead/High Fidelity
When Van said he was gonna shake things up with his superhero movie I knew exactly what he was picking
Annie Hall and The Breakfast Club
Denzel literally had a white daddy savior in his 80s movie Carbon Copy. It’s the whole plot of the movie
Superhero: Sky High
Sci Fi: Predator
Oscar: Lawrence of Arabia
Sports: Rudy
Action: Goldfinger
Comedy: The Hangover

Apollo Creed won the fight in rocky via split decision.
I know it's not because Van is in charge, but we can't act like Christopher Reeve as Superman shouldn't be on the board
Kerm looks EXACTLY like he sounds
Van choosing Hancock as his whitest super hero movie and his breakdown of why it’s a white movie is why Van is HIM
Dewill Jenkins got tears in my eyes
Steve solo pod on blackest movies next ??😂😂😂😂😂

Footloose better make this draft 😂
