    Just got my CR-Z about 2 months ago, same year, same color (though a base trim), can say I'm loving this funky little hybrid. It's fuel efficient, easy to daily, but also a blast to chuck around twisties on my way around town.
    As for all out versions, the CR-Z is one of the few Hondas to get a Mugen production car model, with a supercharger, just not in the US. What we did get, though, were HPD parts that could be installed at Honda dealerships and wouldn't void your warranty, also including a supercharger, which bumped the car up to around 200hp.

      @@cyanofelisI just got a 2011 ex 6 speed with only 47,000 miles :) it's honestly the best daily driver I think ever made. It's short steering ratio, amazing 6 speed, very low center of gravity and short wheel base dimensions all make the handing so freaking good. It's not fast at all, it's somewhat (relatively) quick, but the handing make it so good to drive

    You say you wish there was a Type R... but the chassis is as rigid as the Civic Type R and you could get a factory installed supercharger on the later years. Paired with some coilovers and sticky tires and you would have something much better than a Civic Type R.

    FYI if any you guys didn’t know this car has same chassis as FN2 Honda civic Type R , reason why it handles and corners extremely well. I used own 2015 Honda crz and was honestly surprised on it handling! Only thing that disappointed me in some aspects but not bad at all either , I just really hate that it shuts off when put in neutral , so annoying . But otherwise fantastic as is. Clearly not what enthusiasts wanted , but I plan buy this car again and K20z3 swap it ( was originally intended to be with K20 ; which they fucked up not doing but whatever , damage has already been done) this is def the most sleeper Honda Manual car I think and again I’m buy it again very soon. Get great gas mileage even if many say otherwise. I daily my Toyota 86 in Manual of course , that car can only use 91 and up , these cars 87 all day. That’s efficient as hell in my book.
    Fantastic review btw ! love to see somebody give it some shine ✨☝️🫡🤝💎

    My biggest two complaints of the CR-Z are the lack of power and the fact that the A/C doesn't work with the engine off. I think it'd be awesome if the electric motor was a bit more powerful (it's only 20hp in later models, 15 in early ones), and it drove the rear wheels. It'd allow for an EV mode like many other hybrids, and it'd make the CR-Z an AWD sporty hybrid.

    Other hybrids with manual transmissions: 7th generation Civic Hybrid (5 speed), 1st generation Honda Insight (5 speed).
    RWD Hondas in addition to Acura NSX: s360, s500, s600, s660, s800, s2000, t360, Acty, Street, Beat, Vamos....AND pretty much EVERY motorcycle and trike they've ever made, countless different models and variants. Honda made more RWD vehicles than FWD and AWD...

    • @pilotavery
      @pilotavery 3 года назад +1

      They won't make them. The reason why this is the only hybrid is because this hybrid system is very different. While most hybrid systems use a planetary gear set which is much more efficient, this hybrid is less efficient and was more for the extra power. It's just an electric motor literally bolted directly to the crankshaft, which means that it's impossible to drive on the electric alone like you can with other toyotas.

    • @vanessaouyang1220
      @vanessaouyang1220 2 года назад

      @@pilotavery : I am sure if they took as much time, energy and money into developing the manual hybrids, as they put into design and fuel efficiency for standard and all electric vehicles, they could come up with a better solution for manual hybrids.

    • @pilotavery
      @pilotavery 2 года назад

      @@vanessaouyang1220 manual hybrids just don't make any sense, that's all. Like, you don't need a stick shift for an electric motor. And the existing solutions all suck because for a manual to work, it has to have a spinning clutch, so you need an engine coupled to a motor directly.
      There's just no way to do it.
      Unless it's just a toy, because it's more efficient to not have any gears, so you'd just make the manual stick and clutch just control how much power you get and play sounds through the speaker.
      It just... Doesn't make any sense.
      And I actually OWN a Honda CR-Z. It doesn't get better fuel efficiency than the Non-hybrid.

      @@vanessaouyang1220 I actually own a manual hybrid. But they don't make sense, because they don't get better fuel efficiency, because if you have gears in the first place, you can't have a manual because you can't pick what is running and what's not

    I always loved the concept of these, but the implementation left much to be desired. I think if you would take this concept and modernize it as a plug-in hybrid with more power where you start to get the benefits of electric torque, that you would have a fantastic car.
