PAT- thanks for going through the trouble of making this video. It helped me decide NOT to replace the faders on my LS9-32...lol. Going to try and send it out for repair.

Glad I could help save you some time and frustration. The LS9-16 is 67 screws to get it apart 😉

For the newbies: use a HAND-DRIVER instead of a drill for stuff like this. You will eventually strip a screw using a drill.

For more than 70 screws it's worth it to use an impact or drill to remove them. Just have to break them loose and start them back in with the hand driver to keep from stripping the heads or threads.

Hi, ever happened that after replacing a fader the new one moves slower than the old ones ? Or even one untouched fader has this same behavior when you replacer another ?
This happened to me replacing a fader on my Yamaha DM1000.
    Best regards

07/18/2017: Fader part numbers V6226100 (no dust cover?) and ZM682700 (with dust cover) have been replaced by ZX419000 (no dust cover, according to pics I have seen).

I haven't yet. The only shop I know of having them is fullcompass.com Though any Yamaha dealer should be able to get them from Yamaha.

is it just that the faders lose their resistance value that they become unable to calibrate?

I believe that it can be owing to them getting sticky, or it can be owing to the position sensor no longer working correctly.
