Ford Flex Front Brake Caliper Service
I love finding free stuff. We call it "curb treasure"
Repurposing is awesome! Great thing when you see something you put together with spare parts, you can say “I made that”. Much more satisfying than buying it. I enjoy going to the dump, lots of free repurposable stuff there!!
I love seeing something that got thrown out and grabbing it and making something else out of it for sure.
I am cheap too. Why waste money? It’s too hard to come by.
@@haneyoakie14 free is good 😊
Where did my comment go?
RUclips must have killed it
I have had that happen to me before
@@patthesoundguy all I said was “Free Ham mmmmm”. Sort of in a Homer Simpson voice.
@@patthesoundguy they nix innocent fun stuff and allow the pure bovine secretion aka BS.
Hey Pat! What should someone buy "ham radio" wise, that is affordable, just in case of an emergency.
Great question Bre!
There are some relatively inexpensive hand held 2m rigs. eBay and swap meets can offer “vintage” rigs, stuff that uses tubes and not microchips…if you are worried about an EMP. You can build loads of antennas that work great for very little. RUclips has loads of videos that can show you lots of options.
The question is are you looking for communications?
Been a minute hope all is well
If the women don't find you handsome, may they find you handy.
Nice hack!
Pretty slick, Slick!
That is a great idea. My wife has a bunch of ponytail holders that have lost some of their elastic. I could use those to do this. Awesome! Don’t mess with Pat, he will turn your mic off. lol 😅
Great idea Pat!!
Yet another advantage to putting hair in a pony-tail: you always have an elastic on hand!
Great idea!
Great Video, would you like to sell me that snake? and ifso, for how much?
I can't get the carburetor gas inlet to hook up with the fuel line when I push the parts together.
@@ernst2able it may take a bit of trial and error, and I would try a little lubrication on the rubber. It can take several tries to make sure everything is all lined up. Don't worry you'll get it 👍 I think it may have taken a bit for me to get it right
@@patthesoundguy Thank you for the. encouragement I'll give it a few more tries. This chainsaw has a very special build up that I've never seen before.
@@ernst2able you'll love it when you get it back together, mine is one of the go to saws in my small collection. It runs like it's ported. Ii was going to maybe do some port work on it but it's so good as is, I have left it alone
@@patthesoundguy I wish you the best of luck and send you some late summer greetings from the Åland Islands in Finland.
@@ernst2able Thank you my friend, great to hear from you. 😄
I had the same problem and fixed with your help ! You da man !
@@JerryBenson-u7j I am so glad I could help you out! That is the kind of problem that could lead to very expensive diagnostic fees and never find the problem.
Upside down video. Little more time dxplaing who you talked too.
@@duaneshuster6366 RUclips did that... I think it is an algorithm thing where it thinks I was trying to advertise or something. No matter how much I tried to re-upload the clip it would flip it in RUclips. It went in right side up and I even re-shot it a few times and thought it was me.
Please tell me, can copper also be polished in this way?
@@MegaNostr from what I have seen with brass copper should polish the exact same way. Brass polishes in like 35 seconds, it's like magic
@@patthesoundguy Thank you
A de-pilling machine would work a lot better. Probably more time consuming though
@@ODB_ doesn't remove the dust and dirt, but it would definitely remove the pills for sure.
A bit dramatic😂 love it though
Glad you covered the difference in the pads thickness. Other videos did not address this. I would likely have missed that and would be scratching my head.
@@tonycooper3616 So glad I was able to save you some headaches 👍👍
did you forget to upload the rest of the video?
@@RobBot34 I only showed how to remove the limiter caps, it doesn't take long...

Cool! Ham it up!!
👍👍👍👍
Congrats
Thank you so much! I'm very excited! The exam was the first test/exam type thing I have done since June of 1996 so I was quite nervous and studied so very hard.
Nice to learn even more (70 yr old wrench) from a fellow longhair (mines red...uh, rust). Hair: collagen, protein, fiber, melatin, oils. And THAT is an ISSUE for some morons!
You need to limit the current, electropolishing request low current in the 100 ma max per square cm and also monitor the current ramp
Isn’t that dangerous? “Not to me”
Will this help your brakes stop? My brakes want stop when I step on it.
@@Wadejm533 yes this is a full replacement of the brake material. If you aren't missing any parts you will have full brakes when you are done. Thank you so much for the comment. 👍
@@patthesoundguy will I have to do both sides?
Do you mean both brake pucks or pads? There is an inner and an outer and it's probably best to replace them both if they are worn out, It would be good to go through all of the parts and clean the caliper up and clean the pins like I do in the video, just in case everything being seized in place is part of your issue.
@patthesoundguy no. I mean both back tires, do they brakes.
@Wadejm533 there is only one brake on the side of the trans axle that works both wheels.
Nice, 60cc w 54cc cylinder - that's a HOGGGGG
How much was the replacement motor?
Back then it was close to $1,000 Canadian so not cheap. If he had checked the oil and changed it when he was supposed to it would have lasted longer than 3 years that's for sure
Hey man I have just blew 3 of my subs and all 3 have that same problem. Is their a sub repair kit 🤔 I can get? Also this is car audio btw
They are audio pipe if that also helps
What you seek is called a re-cone kit... It will have new voice coil and the paper cone and new surround and such. It takes some skill and practice to do that job if a kit is available for those woofers. It can be done DIY with videos and there are websites that sell everything to make it happen. I would see if there is someone near you that re-cones speakers, people that do it all the time can often measure the broken parts to know what generic kit can be used. Depending on the woofer it may be more cost effective to replace them. The most common cause of woofer failure is running the amp into clip which makes square waves which makes the coil heat up and fail.
Main thing is to antiz the bolts and pins 😊 please
I use high temp silicone brake grease on the pins, antiseize doesn't work on moving parts they gum up.
You don't have to use baking soda, most powdery substance work. Even ash.
Yup powdered graphite should work really well too.
Nah there's a chemical reaction with soda, it's stronger
can i use it on my earbud hinge will it work ??
It definitely might work. If it is plastic you need to rough up where the glue needs to go and then it can hold very well. I repaired my plastic ID card for work with this trick the other day. Roughed the plastic up, put some glue on the crack in the hole for the lanyard and put some baking soda on it, good as new
@@patthesoundguy thanks for the tip dude
My pleasure, hope it works for you. 😃
I finally switched to a flap disk. I feel like a dope for waiting so long. Cheers Pat!
Those flapper disks are one great invention. I use them for so many jobs now.
Good job I like it!
Thanks so much 👍
That blade looks great. I use a bench grinder, but I think I am going to try your method.
Hey man nice to see that you're making videos again I sharpen mine with a file and then use the balancer
I have been without a workshop since last July so I haven't been able to really make videos. The shop should be over the next month or so I hope. Then I will be making lots more content
God damn it may have fixed it but it sure sounded like complete s***
Trust me it actually sounded like a new woofer but the shit sound you heard was the phone microphone crapping out from the extreme sound pressure levels that it could not handle whatsoever 😉 When that cabinet got returned to the rental shop at the end of the summer they continued to run it for a long time before they got around to putting the replacement driver in.
I would like to see just dipping into phosphoric acid alone as a control test.
I've tried it and it's nothing compared to having it hooked up to the charger... It will clean the carb and remove some corrosion but you have to soak it for quite a while where it's super clean and corrosion free in 35 seconds on the power supply. The jets and other brass components come out with zero build up or contamination on them when you use the power and electropolish.
@@patthesoundguy thanks for reply. Good to know
Thanks So Much....love the Video & Diagram.... ( it's like a 1 shot IKEA Project ). Thanks !!
same as what i did to mine
Thank you, you've save me money .
Thank you so much for the kind comment, I'm so very glad I was able to help you save money.
Can this be used with the MURS version
That's a great question... I don't know for sure because I haven't had a set in my hands, but from what I experienced from working with the FRS version they should work because I was able to change my FRS to VHF with some success because I had the software unlocked. But there is no way to know for sure without trying it with the MURS version.
Great 👍
Steel wire brush? Or nylon wire brush? Thanks
That's entirely up to you... A nylon brush will not be as harsh on the carpet
