Ian Gillan on vocals. Ritchie Blackmore on guitar Jon lord on the Hammond organ, roger glover on bass & Ian paice on Drums.. five of the best musicians you’ll ever hear. And this was 1970.
Hard to imagine this scene nowadays. A stage surrounded by people, very close to the performers . No flashing lights, no dancers or back up singers, literally nothing to hide behind. Just the audience ,and your skill as a musician . Brilliant, and certainly not for everyone. ❤
@@gabrielp9646 not sure if you're serious or not. What I mean is,a lot of newer artists need a whole team of people, banks of computers, and all kinds of processing to sound good. Deep purple was demonstrating their actual skill.
First time I see you guys, because I'm just checking a lot of reaction videos on this track. But I must say, the girl REALLY gets it haha! Especially the last minutes.
The crowd was told not to cheer because it would disrupt the camera's audio during performance ,not only that ,this was NOT a song to tap & bang your head too it was about the war & protesting the war! The solo was chaotic to give it the sound of chaos as the tone was a saddening tone an the vocals OH's & ah's represented the whaling of crying mom's or parent's that had to deal with losing their loved one during war time ,so not a banger song like what people are making it out to be ,but it is an awesome & iconic song that people should really learn the true meaning of!..😢
The hurt, horror, and atrocities of the Vietnam war, captured in complete emotional distress by a brilliant creative and articulate Rock band. Long live the music of Deep Purple.
Gillan was really a beast in his prime and we all know Ritchie Blackmore's place in the Pantheon is. But this line-up in the day as a whole was otherwordly.
You don't say much verbally, but you're both so expressive in body language - your faces paint how much you feel the music, and it tells us everything. You should explore more of the 70s prog rock/heavy rock movement. Don't miss out of 70s Genesis, Yes, Emerson Lake amd Palmer... Rush...
Hey guys also check out the bands YES and Emerson Lake and Palmer. ... other great Deep Purple songs are Highway Star, Burn, My Woman from Tokyo, Speed King, Fireball, & Space Truckin' to name a few... Always go for the studio versions imo.... UK bands from the late 60's to the late 70's are really amazing....
You have just seen 5 of the greatest musicians EVER...just sayin' You will not see the like in present day music, sad to say. Thank you for your reaction.
Check out Captain Beyond's Dancing madly backwords (on the sea of air), from the self titled debut killer album from 1972, on vocal Deep Purple's original singer Rod Evans, monster drummer Bobby Caldwell, Larry "Rhino" Reinhardt on guitar, and Iron Butterfly's Lee Doorman on bass, you'll won't be' disappointed.
Perhaps if there was a ceasefire in Ukraine and this song was mandatory listening for both sides, with subtitles, they might all just think again. 😔🙏🎚️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Síiii!! Parece que los estado unidenses piensan que todo se ha hecho por ellos....está canción es del 69, por la guerra fría, pero totalmente atemporal. Aún ahora sigue vigente. 💜💜💜💜💜
Pretty Lady you should tell your husband he talk way too much during the music :) Wait or pause it to talk but for the love of god tell him to shut up during the music :)
The best reaction! It's a piece gold of Rock 'n Roll history!!!

They went through many band member changes, but this is the lineup I always considered the real Deep Purple.
That was one terrifying line up. RIP Jon Lord.

yet the ppl are not entertained much no emotions
@Norm Gagne Sure. Because bands didn´t have any flashing lights, dancers or back up singers back in the 70s... xDxD

Absolutely Beautiful Song
I would love to have seen John Lord and Keith Emerson play together,it would have been amazing, unforgettable
Seen them live, Supergroup. This tune live, 95% better.
Deep purple was the first concert I saw in New York!!.. nice video

Loved Your Reaction!!❤❤❤❤
One of my favourite bands also sitting in the audience at the back in a pink top was Manchester United legend George Best
@motid look around 4.02 he is sitting at the back
An anti-war song that still has significance 50 years later.
Gracias chicos!! Linda reacción a la más grande banda. Me suscribo❤
Un corazón púrpura desde hace más de 50 años...💜💜💜💜💜
Abrazos desde Chile.
Mr. Jon Lord on keys. RIP
Haha. You guys get it.
this song was written by Ian Gillan the vocalist and was in protest of the vietnam war.
Not the Vietnam war, the cold war. Deep Purple is a British band and had nothing to do with the Americans being at war in vietnam.
Deep Purple .. Smoke on the Water

try highway star, smoke on the water, and lazy by same band
Don't forget The Mule, Burn and Space Truckin.
And Highway star
Great honest reaction. I just subscribed. How about some more DP reactions?

This was an antiwar song, recorded during the Vietnam war era...

Areally good song is Smoke on the Wster or Highway Star.

Thank you, it is about the horrible Vietnam "War".
No, it's not. It's about the Cold War, not Vietnam.
