Young lady, it's mics, amps and a whole lot of raw talent. What a time to be alive
Absolutely the best time to be alive and to experience raw talent like this. Yhe good old days 😊
Amen man. In my 60's now. Grew up on this heavy heavy music. I'm glad at least that some young folks are listening. Guitars don't roar like this anymore. Haven't for many years now.
Ritchie Blackmore criminally underrated in the U.S but one of the most important guitarists in the history of Rock & Metal. Gillan was also incredible in the 70's. This version of Deep Purple was epic.
Sorry Blackmore has never been underrated in the US are you kidding me? Every Purple fan and any metal fan from the 80s and 90s who knows about Deep Purple respects Blackmore! What riff do you think almost every guitar player cut their teeth on?
He just means he's never heard of them. Underrated my arse
R.I.P. JOHN LORD,best Metal Keyboarder ever !
Definitely the best there is 🎹🎹🎹🎹
Both Jon and Keith Emerson are now both gone. The last one left is the phenomenal Rick Wakeman.
Yes indeed
@@kingragnarlothbrok4047 do you think they are ready to handle any of Rick's solo works or even the awesome piano solo that is on RUclips done in the 80's when he sported a mullet?
You got that right,Goose bumps baby
This is just pure talent? People who play music, not computer generated. THE good old days of my youth
It absolutely is talent! But if you think that all computer-sequenced music is talentless then it just shows you have no idea what goes into making it.
Saying music created on a computer isn't hard work is just insane. It's just as hard on a computer, 1 producer has to understand how to play 5+ instruments. If you think it's easy, then like that other guy said, you don't know how it works.
And folks…this was LIVE. Just musicians, amps, drums, PA system, and not a computer is sight. Real talent….
Et oui, on régresse beaucoup aujourd'hui dans cet art qu'est la musique, comme le cinéma d'ailleurs !!!!!!
Ian Gillan - no autotune, no in-ear monitors, yet pitch perfect. No wonder we struggle to enjoy today's 'music', just no comparisin in musicianship.
This guitar player!!!!! created the CONCEPT of shredding!
Absolute classic. Ian Gillan is a legend of a singer.
Ian came from a musical family and was a choir boy to start.
The greatest of all times
La nouvelle génération ne s'imagine pas le talent qu'il a fallu pour sortir un chef d'oeuvre pareil ❤️❤️❤️
Hi coming from England I was growing up listening to Deep
Purple and l have seen These live and they were playing all their Classic They were Awesome I am now retired still listening to Rock music👍🎼🎸🎹 All the best from Nottinghamshire UK
100% vocal🤘......nada de autotune.......esos si son cantantes...70,80 y 90.....la era legendaria de varias bandas icono del metal....simplemente talento......buena reaccion👍👍👍
He referred to Ritchie Blackmore as "this guitar player"...young folks nowdays lol
Jesus, i didn't get that far into it. Idiots.
Hey, I am young too and I know who Ritchie Blackmore is. I am only 41.
watches video about Alexander the Great "that greek general..."
See comment on previous post.
I'm 28 and rainbow is one of my favorite bands. Ritchie is the best
‘That guitar player’ is Ritchie Blackmore, along with Jon Lord on organ, Ian Paice on drums, and Roger Glover on bass, and Ian Gillan on vocals.
Gillan.
@@simonpalling3215 Sorry, I was typing on my phone and my 53 year old eyes can’t see that small type too well.
@@kenklein4783... and I'm just a pedantic old git...!
@@simonpalling3215 No you're not.
☀️🌎 `I think this info is for the people who don't know well enough about these legends, isn't it?.. 🐎
Tanks for your reaction to this song. I was young and heard Deep Purples concert 1972 in Denmark. Amazing and my first trip
If you combine the masters of organ, bass drums, guitar and vocals you get deep purple.
a masterpiece!
Bands from the 70's who actually played and sang live, no auto-tune. no backing tracks, just talent.
Every member of this Deep Purple lineup was an incredible musician. Gillan was the blueprint for hard rock vocalists everywhere. Jon Lord basically weaponized the Hammon B3 and Ritchie Blackmore's guitar skills are legendary.
This is how it’s done kids. Real people playing real instruments in real time. No autotune, no loops, no pre-recorded tracks, no heavy processing on the vocal to hide deficiencies.
In real time? Dude, this was 53 years ago!
Hehe
No computers in them days pure raw talent the way we love it
Sabbath, Zeppelin and Purple are the holy trinity of british proto heavy metal! The begginings of metal bro!
Yeap grew up on them ....
They were more Hard Rock than Metal...
you mean the unholy :v
@@chuecan2007 ha ha yeah !!
@@hmm5759 Hence the word "proto". They are widely recognised as the proverbial chiken that laid the egg that gave metal
You are an amazing couple!!!all the best from Poland!!
Se alinearon los planetas cuando se creo esta banda. Pioneros totales, talento y creatividad . De allí a la eternidad ❤
Ladies and Gentlemen, THIS is music.
The best live band ever !!!!!
she got very well the stop and the feeling of it!!!! well done lady!!!
Por Dios !!!!!!!!!!!!! Que banda !!!!!!!!
That moment when Ian steps into the A5 and shows what he can really do lol love watching new fans hear it for the first time. Welcome to the Deepest Purple so very few can perform in their class.
One of the Greatest ANTI WAR/VIETNAM Songs ever written...besides WAR PIGS......and damn,Ian "JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR" Gillan on Vocals, what can you expect more?.......
Yea I wore that Broadway version of Jesus Christ Superstar album out as a 12 year old. Use to go asleep with the headphones on listening to that album.
I do wish the reactors would understand what this song is about. I've seen quite a few and none seem to hear the lyrics meaning. Oh well at least they seemed to be awed by the unbelievable talent of DP.
@@stephanieryan751 Sorry, late response. I think that with most of the reactors they get so enthralled with the music and this song the different things that are going on, that they’re not quite paying attention to the lyrics. And I don’t know what that’s because lyrics in songs aren’t as prevalent as they used to be back at this time-💁🏻♀️. Not sure. But I usually cut them a break.
"The Butcher's Tale" by The Zombies is a great anti war song also.
Deep Purple for ever!!!
Same guitarist as Rainbow (Stargazer). Ritchie Blackmore.
Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow... Roger Glover on bass also for a while.
50 years ago I was 12 yo and man loved Deep Purple! and all the other great rock bands in those days!
Deep Purple one of the UK bands that started heavy metal . The fathers of METAL
I was seven years old when this came out .....now that is what you call TIGHT the sudden stop wow
Purple were one of the best bands ever, and Suzie is 🔥 too.
this is one of the most epic live performances ever.
Magnific
Oh I love this! One of the best performances ever. We're lucky this was filmed❤️love Deep Purple 💜😃🌏🪐🙏🌕🌸🇦🇺🐦🏡🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹💜💜💜💜
One of the best song ever made.
My favorite deep purple album is "Live in Japan". When I hear this I get homesick for the 70s. But luckily there is the fantastic band Nightwish that makes me forget these years very quickly.
The album is called Made in Japan :)
@@neverlandxx73 You're right, it's my age, a little bit demented. As long as I don't confuse the Doors and Deep purple, it's not too bad.
@@humannature9713 lol true that :) i have the same problems at my age too :) stay safe and healthy
What a legendary line-up Deep Purple II was - Ian Gillan (vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (lead guitar), Jon Lord (keyboard), Roger Glover (bass) and Ian Paice (drums). The really scary thing is that all of them are still actively performing, aside from Jon Lord who has sadly passed away, of course.
I saw this line up in Torino, Italy during the Nobody's Perfect Tour.....IT WAS JUST LIKE PARANORMAL EXPERIENCE!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Most definitely the best Purple lineup, and the most enduring and appreciated, as time has shown.
When I first listened to Gov't Mule's "The Deepest End" live CD, a ways into disc 2, Warren introduces Our new friend Roger Glover!! And I was like, wait- excuse me, what?!?! He killed it, too. ALL of them did- there were a bunch of bassists that came to jam with them that night. (they were still looking for a replacement for Allen Woody then) Even more remarkable, each player only got a very short time to rehearse with the band, and some were only able to make it after the show began.
Yes, I love Richie's Blackmore's Night also.
The best deep purple formation by far. I listen made in japan when i was five , my mother is a big Deep purple fan , im 54 and shes 85 now and still rockin . Thanks mom.
Just magnificent. One of rocks greatest ever bands.
HERMOSA melodia GRAN voz de una de las mejores bandas del rock DEEP PURPLE LEYENDA VIVIENTE
Masterpiece, one of the best rock songs ever.
Love this song, I'm so glad you chose to react to it. Purple were the band that got me into heavy rock when I was a kid, and I still love them to this day. I saw them a few times live, and they must be one of the best live bands I've seen.
Saludos desde Chile, hermosa pareja de amor
Your Expressions was priceless!!!!!
This is a Masterpiece GuyZ . This is how Bruce Dickinson became a singer ! Ian Gillan is a "Magician" 💥 This Boys are LEGEND . Ian Paice on Drums , John Lord on Keybord a True Genious , Ritchie Blackmore , David Coverdale , Roger Glover , Glen Hughes ...with some changes they have had Part of the Modern History of Music . Fun Fact : Bruce Dickinson initially was interested in Drums . Maiden i discovered thanks to a II grade cousin (if it's correct) older than me (i have circa 5 years more than Sir Jon) . Ian Paice very active and jouthfull nowadayZ is a friend of Nicko drummer Maiden . 12'52"-12'53" 😛🤙 . Ian Gillan is singing the Baby . I was hoping for this song . This is seminal
Im reading Bruce's book and be talks about the first time he heard Deep Purple. And I just seen a video of Bruce singjng Smoke on the water with an all star line up
DEEP PURPLE 💪👍
With that video, you're witnessing the beginnings of an entire genre of music...heavy metal.
Imagine witnessing Deep Purple live in a studio... and you have to sit there quietly to not disturb the recording.
You would be deaf before you attempted to do it
I saw Deep Purple live in concert in Vancouver, Canada, in the early 70s, about the same time I saw Pink Floyd in 1973 in the same building. Loudest band I've ever heard and one of the best I've ever seen.
Same for The Old Grey Whistle Test- except they play whole sets! I nearly fell out of my chair seeing the crowd just sit there and applaud politely- with the original Lynyrd Skynyrd rocking hard on stage... What the... How...?
I think they must of handed out Quaaludes or something
This song is even better on "live in Tokyo" record
The greatest keyboard player of all time Mr John fucking lord and I'm a Zeppelin fan
Deep Purple were ground breaking! They were such a tight band in concert. They put out so many great songs. One of my favorites!
Yes, he had such an amazing rock n roll voice at a time when rock was coming on strong and so much fun.
Nice reaction - I saw them live at least six times in the early 1970s - superb band and very loud.
Deep Purple had a major influence on many musicians back then and after. RIP John Lord. Another great track from the Purple is perfect Strangers....
Perfect Stranger's is my second favourite song by Deep Purple. I love the offical video(1984) that goes with it, they all turn up @ some mansion-sized house, that they've turned it onto a make shift temp studio,
From one of the best live albums of all time “Deep Purple - Made in Japan”, you can hear the singer Ian Gillan tell one of the roadies “Can we have everything louder than everything else.” 🤣🤣
Ritchie shouts it in the background and Ian Gillan repeats it to the sound desk. It's the end of 'Smoke', beginning of 'The Mule'.
@@Dibbdroid Referring to the drums, as the Mule was a drum solo in the middle of the song.
@@johncapell6057 not true, it's nothing to do with The Mule song.
"Ken Flegg, a former Marshall engineer, who accompanied the band on the trip to Japan in August 1972:
The third gig at the Budokan in Tokyo on the 17th August went well with no significant problems, other than the acoustics of the hall could have been better. Possible because of this the subject of the monitors came up again and Ian Gillan asked over the mic before Strange Kind of Woman: “Yeah everything up here please. A bit more monitor if you’ve got it.” Then Ritchie asks “Can I have everything louder than everything else?” which Ian Gillan repeats “Yeah, can he have everything louder than everything else.” This remained on the final master."
Hey Wolves!!! Greettings from Argentina!!! You are awesome!! Loved the way you change the visuals. Love how you enjoy the reactions. Please keep on. Deep Purple is amazing!! Thanks!! Sorry for my english!!!
As powerfull today, 50 yes FIFTY years after it was recorded... Listened a lot to the "Made in Japan" Album. So damn Good
Played live. By an incredible band.
That crowd wasn't ready for all of that goodness!
RIP LORD
I was 17. Deep Purple blew my head away.....45 years ago........
look at the crowd just mesmerized by this performance
Fun Fact Since 2018 Deep Purple has put out 2 new studio albums
The Black Wizard Ritchie "Rainbow" Blackmore......
Bloody Wicked Indeed...Especially The Organ..
I grew up jamming on Deep Purple! As a musician myself, I always had the greatest respect for bands like this with super stacked talent level! Rush, Maiden, Jethro, AC DC, Van Halen, Priest, etc.......All were stacked! I almost feel sorry for young people for not getting to experience the 70's-80's era! The quality of life was so much better then!
My top 3 songs of all time: child in time, bohemian rapsody and master of puppets!
Don't forget "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies.
Yessah this the song here
A must hear by Deep Purple is Highway Star as good as Child In Time (R.I.P. My Idol Jon Lord)
As a teenager in the 70’s I’m going to give you a little insight. This song was about the Vietnam war. It was a war nobody understood and nobody wanted to go. None of us talked about it. We all seen it and knew all the guys were taken as soon as they were 18 and out of school. Many friends, boyfriends, cousins, brothers, and sons lost. Deep purple summed it up. A young guy being thrown into the middle of a war and on foreign soil, different language, and just wanting to go home. They just wanted to stay alive with bullets flying all around them. Everyone dreaded the “letter” but when they went nobody said a thing. It was avoided and life went on. I lost an uncle and cousin but both died after the war but caused by the war. They couldn’t just come home and forget it so they drank hard, drove fast, with what seemed like a death wish. As Ian Gillian speaks at the end, he tried to fit back in, he tried to talk about it but nobody wanted to talk about it, so he blew his mind out! This was the bad part we all lived through in the 70’s. We grew up fast and experienced the best music there ever was. They all had meaning and helped comfort our hearts because there was no answers as to why they were taking all these boys. My husband (boyfriend then) missed the draft by 2 months! A lot of lives, our children and grandchildren would never have been born if he was 2 months older. Sobering thought of all the families that never had a chance to start.. That being said, the first time I head deep purple on record I rushed to the store and bought it! keep in mind we knew we had awesome music and no expense was spared for the best Pioneer or JVC stereo systems! Muscle cars and the best stereos! The walls in the whole house shook when we played our music. Enjoy our memories;)
This was a good Time for music. Purple, Zeppelin, Genesis and many more amazing Bands.
Золотое музыкальное наследие человечества!!!!!!!
True greatness, they was metal before there was a genre lol so many great people influenced by this band including myself. Lars from Metallica said this was his fav drummer and he is mine as well. So many other great songs to delve in to. May I suggest Highway star live next 👍🏻
On "Machine Head", you won't find a bad song, Highway Star is a must, metal legend.
Bands didn't really start using in-ear monitors until around the mid 1980s. These guys stopped at exactly the same time because ... practice
"How did in-ear monitors work in the 70s?". There weren't any, and there were no floor monitors here, which is why Ian Gillan is pushing one of his ears in, to hear what he's singing.
❤❤❤
I was only 7 when this track came out. My mother was not impressed but I still rate the track as one of the all time greats.
Ian Gillan's mum was an opera singer, he obviously inherited her vocal cords! His voice really Is an instrument. He only very recently has stopped singing this song. What a band : Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath - the Unholy Trinity!
The begginings of real Hard Rock !!!!
No click track in those days. Such a great band.
At last, have been waiting for you to react to this song, what a voice, what a band, great job guys thank you.
If you'd like more Deep Purple, you should give "Lazy" a try. (Machine Head album.)
In ear?! We had in foot monitoring or as Mr. Gillian demonstrated, finger in ear monitoring. Anything else was si-fi.
Read your comment just as she said that. I was bustin' a gut.
Milestone of Rock history.
That's incredible it was made on 72's! Man, 1972 and so modern. Such epic song from fab musicians. Rip Jon Lord, best keyboard player in Rock. Blackmore is a legend 🎸 forever purple💜
Actually it was written in 1969
I can remember when I was 16 as if it was yesterday seeing Ian paice and Jon lord way back In March 1977 at Newcastle city hall, i still have the concert ticket at home. My favourite American singer with amazing high vocals and still going strong today at 62 is MARK BOALS. He sings everything from opera to metal. 2 great examples from about 20 years ago, FAIRYTALES WON'T DIE, and KEEPER OF THE FLAME, mark boals ring of fire BURNING LIVE IN TOKYO video. Best wishes from the north east coast of England.
This one is doing the rounds
Best Rock Song of all times.
I think she was enjoying this vocal performance a but too much. 🤣🤣
Wish people would stop slamming them because they don’t know who they are, it’s not there fault is it? Let them enjoy the music
“That” guitar player is Ritchie Blackmore, a guitar GOD who still rocks his own band, Blackmore’s Night, to this day. Check them out, you’ll like!
I am not sure why so many people are upset at Ritchie about Blackmore's Night... some of his best work if you really take the time to listen. It is just different and he is enjoying himself.
I do love Blackmore's Night, but I'm a fan of renaissance music all the way up to modern day classical, prog and metal. And jazz. And folk . And electronica. So Blackmore's Night is a perfect fit for me. It's just good music.
This is what us old timers (I'm 60) call REAL MUSIC 🎵🎶.
This is the shizzle....
...and it's like hasn't been seen since it's passing. Thank God above for The Warning bringing back the old sound. Maybe it will start a trend.
Opposite of Deep Purple is Mellow Yellow 💜💜💜💜
Ritchie Blackmore always improvises a LOT in his live solos. You listen to the studio version, it's always different than the live versions...
A COOL REACTION,,,,,ROCK ON
Purple Passages was one of the first albums that I ever purchased ,1972 I was 13 years old. They have been one of my favorite bands ever since. Jon lord on keys took the band to new heights, RIP.
