Damon's recurring line "I promised you an eternity of misery" is in my opinion projection. He didn't want to be a vampire his brother betrayed him & so did Katherine. Emotions play a massive part of a Vampires make-up with Love possibly the strongest of all emotions. Damon has had immense trust issues perhaps for his entire 165 years as a Vamp. Elena showing him kindness & understanding isn't something he's used to having. At times you can see the surprise in his face when she hugs or shows him compassion. Watching along with you guys really makes you appreciate the flashbacks even more. Enjoying your discussions/reactions. I just hope I won't need to be as old as Damon before we get to the end of Season 8 😂
The Damon - Alaric bonding is the most fun in this show.

Great reaction, Dalaric is a great duo. With Damon he was 100% trying to take away some of his brothers guilt without wanting it to look like hes wanting to help thats why he says its because Katherine turned you too he was just saying that so Stefan would stop feeling so guilty for making Damon turn but thats not what Damon really feels. Damon is upset at him for being forced to turn but hes just trying to get him to stop being so hard on himself. Defan❤ The scene with Damon putting Elena's feet in his lap is one of my favoirite scenes its cute.
I fact that Damon was willing to turn for Katherine but not Stefan proves he loved Katherine more than his own brother
My view point is Damon does actually hold that hurt that Stefan forced him to turn, but said he hated it for the other reason said just so that Stefan doesn’t feel that guilt and blame himself

this is when the show started to take off, once Kathrine was introduced the TV ratings sored and TVD became the biggest show on tv. stll to this day the TVD fan base is huge

Alaric is a great character but I’ve heard troubling stuff about the actor playing him, like he’s written Elena and Alaric fan fiction plus he’s made Nina Dobrev feel uncomfortable there’s a clip on RUclips somewhere where they’re at a comic con and she clearly is uncomfortable. Hopefully he’s got help. And other actresses have said similar things who he’s worked with on other shows
