Holy shit I always thought destroying the nests/fabricators would decrease the enemy resistance, so I made it my sole mission most of the times. Duck's back at it again saving my bacon.
I thought so too until recently!
I mean, you still want to destroy all of them to maximize your experience yield. *and planet damage contribution.
I love the cape physics in HD, they’re so satisfying.
All heroes wear capes.
A positive, game play focused Helldiver 2 video is a very refreshing change amide the glut of helldivers 2 controversy and patch speculation videos. Thanks!
Appreciate it!
I learned a lot. The most interesting was the red tracer rounds and the spore tower with samples under.
Happy to help!
aaaah yes, knowledge and especially knowledge that helps me stay efficient when dispensing democracy! you have my approval good sir
I really wasn’t sure id learn anything new after playing 100+ hrs and being on the subreddit fairly often…..BUT I learned several useful things. Great video, thanks for putting this together.
The reason why retrieve essential personnel and other defense type missions can be so hard is because they are basically DPS checks. You need to destroy the targets as fast as they filter in. What makes this hard is that people have a bad habit of waiting until after the enemy is ready and using the wrong tool for the job. If you see a breach or a drop, a support weapon or grenade is going to clear it faster than your primary. Even if your weapon can not shoot down a drop ship the enemies on board are vulnerable until several seconds after they hit the ground. People tend to avoid air strikes and orbitals because of the collateral damage. while a valid point you should still bring them. Civilians do not enter enemy drop zones. Because of this the big guns should be trained on those locations. Any orbital that lingers such as, gatling, gas, airburst or ems as well as eagle napalm are highly effective tools for shutting down a drop zone. The drop/ breach locations are the same on each time on their respective maps. Tagging a drop/breach is good form and leads into my next topic. Focus fire! You should always be in the habit of focus firing larger enemies. The damage output of an entire squad is staggering and being able to knock down Titans, Striders, and other heavies quickly is a very important skill on any mission. Even more so while on the defense. I know not everyone has a mic and being able to fully coordinate with your team is difficult, but knowing about the tag system and using it better than hoping your squad is psychic. If some one tags a heavy and your clear you should focus your fire on it if able. Every bullet no matter how small counts. Lastly I want to address mortars. Dont use the standard mortar. There are a few reasons. First is its Dps is terrible as it only fires in a three round burst and takes forever to change targets. Second is the high change of friendly fire. Losing a squad member means you lose their dps until they are back on the ground with their weapons in hand. That could take well over a minute. Over the course of a full mission that could add up to several minutes of lost dps. You already have no shortage of things trying to kill you why add another? Lastly the mortar is not suited for defense. The mortar is best when used to siege bases and harass enemies near its maximum range or when there is an obstacle preventing the enemy from getting on top of you. The EMS mortar is a good pick so long as the rest of your kit has the DPS to kill the enemy. I hope this helps some one. I have seen those missions go excellently and poorly and the ones that succeed are the ones that focus on fire power. I know people might roll their eyes because blah blah balance or team work is hard, but its better than nothing right? We should always endeavor to find better strategies for difficult missions.
I love to see that you are still making videos like these, I remember a few years ago YOU were the reason I kept playing Project Zomboid and its one of my favourite games of all time now
thank you
1) always have a battle buddy. Whether that's a pocket sentry or another player; get one.
2) learn one weapon at a time paired with one airstrike or orbital strike until their combined usage is second nature. The flexibility will help later.
3) set your guns that have a flashlight to the Lazer pointer function so it's not your fault when someone walks in front of your line of sight.
4) paint/ping problem targets. If you're not on comms, I don't know what you mean or want by spazing out in my general direction.
5) it's not shameful to ask for help with a hardened target
6) shoot the glowy bits on bots, it's the designated weak spot
7) if you can't see it, odds are a sentry can see it
8) send friend requests to people that prove competence at their task.
9) communication with your team is necessary for a smooth operation
10) you will get better with practice
Laser pointer function can be toggled? I thought it was solely the flashlight but I guess I never questioned why the laser would be on and then off. How do you keep it on?
I knew something was backwards with patrol frequency becoming higher the more outposts/bugholes you took out, but just thought I was imagining it. Glad to see I'm not going crazy...yet.
Good video, never noticed the red tracer rounds!
Me neither until recently!
I appreciate tremendously that these 1st tips you mentioned the most mind-blowing thing ever... Teamwork. By no mean this is a joke. This game needs more content creators who talk about the main thing this game is advertised as... a team oriented game. We have enough lone runners who run off alone, die 10 times, and leave games.... then call game sucks cus they lose. Great video! Look forward to seeing more! 😊
Solid video!
Thank you!
Actually helpful tips
Glad to be of service!
I have always found if you get rid of nest you definitely have less resistance at extraction.
Bots - Extra Padding/Democracy Protects
Bugs- Fortified
Most explosive like attacks deal most of their damage as direct damage not explosive so extra padding does a lot more.
Bug spit counts as explosive damage so Fortified is actually usefull against them.
Democracy Protects can save u from Rocket Headshot oneshots because only the 200 armor + vitality booster will save u in that case.
Vitality Booster is a must have no matter what its extremely strong and makes u more tanky than any armor could.
It makes a 50 armor as tanky as a 150 armor.
to be honest, having a Solo doing objectives is actually pretty decent all around because while the rest of the team is drawing the entire map towards them, Solo's can run up on objectives completely unoccupied, I've literally done this with big bug nest where the team is drawing so much heat the Heavy Bug nest pits are totally empty and can be easily dispatched
Man that spawn timer thing is rough because I've always preferred to do the primary relatively fast so in the event we perish its still a victory
For the retrieve personnel mission I recommend using this strategy against the bots more than the bugs. The bugs are much easier to deal with in this mission even on level 9. Now this strategy must be used against the bots
Rodger that! Good intel.
Light padding armor actually works better overall for damage reduction than Fortified. I've been using it or the Democracy armor as they work better than Fortified. Great video btw
I’ve been having so much fun punching things before they can punch me first! Flying hunter? No problem! Warrior? No problem! Punch and weave 🤣
7:00 There are no other Starship Troopers movies. Just the first. NOTHING else exists.
I respect this 😂
The outside drop tactic for Emergency Evacuations IS a good tactic...IF you have a bunch of friends or even Discord buddies along.
But most players play with randoms, and that kind of coordination can be fraught at best. Most players don't use voice, and many don't respond to text. For that matter, I've seen plenty of players with Cyrillic or Japanese names, we may not share a language, much less be able to cooirdinate like that.
Unless you're going in with a pre-made team, and if you are you're so far ahead of the game you probably don't need much advice to begin with, this is a great plan if you can get it to work, but you often won't be able to because of communication issues.
I'd love to see you check out Abiotic Factor, it's sort of like Project Zomboid, Half Life, and Lethal Company smashed together with a setting inspred by the SCP Archives. Very fun game
I've been playing! Great fun.
I never noticed the red tracer rounds lul. Played for like 150 hours.
I saw the name of your channel & thought, "what are the chances of 2 people finding a genie that's hard of hearing?" I did not wish for a 13-inch pianist.
Starship Troopers should just give helldivers the license already
Sending in a Ducky 🦆
Sure the Spear can save you time on killing Bot Fabs....IF the damn thing actually locks on, which it often won't, even if you ID the target for it. Don't go encouraging people to use a defective weapon without warning them that it may not work at all!
i think its stupid that more partols spawn when you destroy they nests. should it not be the other way around?
I know for sure that Sony doesn't want me or any other player from my country to play this game.

If Helldivers 2 is so good, why isn't there a Helldivers 2 2?
There is... have to win at this first.
