Good tips. I've been watching people play lvl 9 missions as if it was a walk in the park but every time I've tried to reproduce it in my games I end up struggling dealing comfortably with any missions above lvl 5... The first reason might obviously be a skill issue, as I seem to be bringing all the adequate weapons and stratagems yet most often than not end up being caught in freaking unwinnable reinforcement loops. The second issue I have though - which relates directly to the tips in this video - is the fact that most anti-heavy unit weapons are incompatible with backpack assets. If you take a shield (or a drone for trashmob clearing) you have to give up on the autocannon, the recoiless rifle and the Spear, which only leaves you with the EAT (hard to cast when swarmed + requires cooldown), the flamethrower (aka the (self-)friendly-fire weapon of choice), the grenade launcher (useless against armor), the Quasar (great but hard to use when swarmed), or minor options like the (inefficient) arc thrower or the defunct railgun... As a result, I either have to sacrifice being able to deal fast with chargers or accept the risk of being 2-tapped by Hunters or Stalkers, hence my exponential difficulty scaling past lvl 6 for which I haven't found a parade yet.
I'm in the same exact boat. It's definitely skill (I'm not great) but also just luck when it comes to what spawns on the map too. I really don't see another viable choice besides Quasar if you want a guard dog or a shield backpack and I find it really hard (skill again) to make enough space to hardly ever use it without getting swarmed before the thing fires.

10:10 a common misconception that playing solo spawns less bugs, when in actuality it spawns the same amount of bugs as it would with 4 players, *so long as those four players are all with 100 meter radius of each other*. When players get outside that 100 meter radius, that is what generates extra enemy spawns. The takeaway from this is: to play as a group, and you will find missions on 8 and 9 to be a lot less chaotic, and groups of enemies a lot more manageable.
But spawning mostly happens as part of bug breaches and some objectives excepted there can only be one active bug breach at the time. What am I missing here?
This is not true. Both the Frequency and Composition of Patrols gets more severe with each player. When players are split up and in their own player group, each Player Group will receive a Patrol Template for the difficulty/Number of players. The composition is not affected by being split.

What i used to understand after many dive on terminids planets is that the best way to kill them is to shoot and strike until they're nothing left than weird pulp and sand .
Forgot to mention how the stun grenade is the best grenade for them. An absolute game changer for stopping charger or creating distance when you are about to get overwhelmed
Why werent stalkers/shreikers even MENTIONED in this video??? Also, stealth is just as usable on bugs as bots, just give them a wider range. If you kill all the bugs in a small group at around the same time (strategems, grenades, rapid fire/teamwork) they will NOT be able to call for reinforcing. The SMALLEST bugs are the ones calling for more bug breaches, there is a spottable thorax movement before they do it, much like the bot flare launch.
I pushed up to hazard 6 on solo play by myself using all these same concepts (pushed to being creative as i had no gear yet) and then dropped off them when i started playing with my friends. i was onto something.
Have you done a video on movement? How to dive and sprint effectively, how to get out of being perma slowed by hunters, just overall getting out of tough situations
Love the video! I’d love to see you add more of the helldivers flair to your explanations. You said “lose” instead of fail the mission for example. I love getting immersed into the game, as you said “terminate the bugs, do it for democracy” I got instantly motivated to hop into the game. Love your content, been watching every helldivers vid so far
200+ hours fighting terminids and so far this loadout has given me no problems while fighting them: Primary: Dominator - for stagger and armor pen Secondary: Redeemer - for clearing out small enemies quickly Grenade: Impact - for instakilling bile spewers Support weapons: EAT/Quasar - for handling chargers and titans Backpack: Laser rover - for passively keeping smaller enemies at bay and saving ammo (take shield charger if you have problems with dodging/kiting enemies) 1st Stratagem: Eagle airstrike - perfect for clearing out bug holes and deleting whatever is in its path 2nd Stratagem: This could be whatever you want, I personally use cluster to clear out fodder so you can focus on the bigger enemies Armor: I’ve found medium medic armor works the best in any given situation, longer lasting stim effects and higher stim count essentially make you invincible since you’re constantly on regen
Personally I rather use light armor with the shield generator backpack, then you almost never need stims in the first place. I also actually really like using the Sickle, if you are accurate with it you can kill any of the non-heavy targets (for example, Hive Guards, just spray down the gaps between armor) - its especially good at just sweeping down all the lighter enemies - and since it doesnt run out of ammo, it lets you save your resupplies for when you need grenades or supportweapon ammo (if applicable).
Honestly Rover > Shield for hunters. Shield just drops off too fast and then you get swarmed. Rover will both shoot down hunters mid pounce while you are dealing with the ones still taking their position and he will constantly protect your back while repositioning. As a result you will consistently have to deal with much less hunters actively. if you pair it with Arc thrower and focus on bigger threats, most hunters will get zapped as a collateral damage, further pacifying them passively before they become a problem.
Shield makes it so I'm never slowed, which means I never die. Without shield one errant pouncer that you didn't see, or one of those tiny green bastards that shoot slowing acid at you, can spell your end. I think rover, shield, jetpack and supply pack are all pretty damn useful, but if I'm going solo it's gonna be shield or jet
Any tips or videos to recommend, on how exactly bug breaches actually work? I can't figure out when exactly I'm in danger of being tattled on during any given fight. I usually just kill as quick as I can, and hope I spot the bug who's stopped and reared up to call one in.
I HATE TERMINIDS. As someone fairly new who finally decided hop onto Suicide/Impossible level because I needed Super Samples- it's not the big guys like Chargers/Bile Titans that kill me. It's the DAMN HUNTERS. I never knew how dangerous they were. If you ignore them, they will easily swarm you and kill you. Plus the little spit they do that slows you down. I would rather deal with any other bugs than a pack of Hunters!
I don't think most/all players looking for a meta loadout aren't enjoying themselves. For a lot of people, minmaxing IS the fun part of a game. And aside from that, you do have to actually bring a strong loadout for Helldive, if you just don't have coverage for something its trouble. Sure you can bring the LMG if you want, but you better overcompensate with stratagems for heavy targets then.
@@theSato Exactely. Playing the most difficult level is not about trolling the build, there are mandatory combos that a player must do to even have a chance to do everything and extract. The fun part is to complete missions and extract, is not it? Or do people have fun being murdered and depleted of reinforcements then failing the mission?
Absolutely. Until you stop having fun because your loadout sucks and you're not doing much but dying all day or getting your whole team killed and pissed at you (if you're not playing solo).
You should make a solo helldive video using all fire, breaker incendiary, incendiary grenades, napalm, 500kg and flame thrower/quasar. It trivializes helldive. Throw a napalm on the 3 bug breaches and net like 50-60 kills
2 more tips number 1 Do not I repeat DO NOT Engage every single fight or enemy your just gonna have a shit load of problems for absolutely no reason (I think he brought this up toward the end number 2 when on an objective do not bring your swarm of bugs to the objective that is clear when someone is on it also if a lot of bugs on it one person hide the rest draw the enemies away from the objective the one hiding and has no bugs aggrod go do the objective quietly and quickly quill save alot of time rather then drying 10 times to clear the objective only to give it up in the end and rotate back!!
Nothing mentioned about making sure their breach point or nest is taken care of so there wont be more responding. It will be a longgggg repetitive battle if the nest isn't completely destroyed.
Okay great tips but just one question. For the play aggressively tip, isn’t it better to avoid patrols for example if possible than to attack them and risk a bug breach?
Legend, what do you think about the Punisher shotgun? After the Breaker nerf i consider Punisher as better option, since it does more damage, have wider spread so less shots are being missed, and 0 problems with not finishing reload animation due to explosion or anything else. Also it hardly gets out of ammo.
I know this is a different video but, I tried the tesla thrower and I don't think I enjoy it anymore. I really liked that it sort of warmed up after the first shot, and could be consistently fired early if you chained them. It made sense and felt good and was risk/reward because you're liable to straight up insta a fellow helldiver if it chains badly or you aim wrong. Now it's full charge or nothing, anytime. I guess with the staggers they want it to feel like a special weapon, and not like an electric primary weapon.
The full charge time is reduced compared to what it was before, so the speed nerf isn't as bad as it seems at first. It still has enough dps to effectively clear hordes, and the stagger vastly improves its ability to deal with chargers, brood commanders, devastators, and even hulks. I think overall it's in a more healthy spot now, it just still has targeting problems to do with corpses and mines blocking despite clear line of sight. It was fun to half-charge, but it was pretty awkward that the moment you stopped shooting once (for instance after switching weapons to deal with close range bugs), you needed 2s before the next shot.
I'd take consistency over unintented power any time. Doing the quick charge with it made it awkward (and painful) with longer use, and sometimes it just won't do it when you really need it to. Plus Takibo has done a video on it after the patch and it still does really well (stagger was actually great against chargers and such). The DPS is longer but it's still powerful. You just have to work harder with it.
I used the Arc Thrower a lot prior to the patch (I'm a sucker for ways I can both carry my friends and kill them all at the same time!) and have to say that I actually like it better now. It felt nigh unusable for bots before, but now with such a large knockback, it can really help tame Hulks and other bots, helping your teammates take them down without injury. This is a big deal when you're trying to defend a chokepoint and stick together as a group. So yes, while the charge speed is slightly slower compared to the half-charge, it's less annoying, more balanced, and yet even more of a "support" wep. The only "downside" is that it tends to kill my friends less often. :(
As someone who from release date has been playing exclusively with medium armor I CANNOT play with light armor to save my life. Maybe with the shield generator is different but without it and with light armor you get dropped by anything. I tried it and did not have the bubble shield and I think I died 5 times in the first 5 minutes and just quit that mission and changed loadouts
Just play bots for a week straight and then when you jump over to bug missions they'll be a joke in comparison. I can wipe bugs on difficulty 9 all day.
Yeah to me in order to play bugs at higher levels, you have to constantly be on the run, and prioritize the smaller bugs esp the hunter. But I hate playing them in general anyway

@@MDestron2282 yeah 😥 I was playing with a friend yesterday at lvl 7 and we had at some point up to 4 active bug breaches at evac (constantly reinforced by roaming patrols) despite throwing in stratagem after stratagem... We arrived at evac 10 min before the end of the mission timer and actually had to run around in circles till the end not to be slaughtered. My friend died and I narrowly managed to escape. I had the shield (which saved my life more often than I could count) and the Quasar which I barely managed to shoot a dozen times during that whole heartbreaking ridiculous circus. This is what my SUCCESSFUL high-level games look like... and I can count those on my fingers.
Meanwhile, a whole armada of RUclipsrs makes you feel like shit as their level 9 missions look easier than the game's own tutorial.
@@lhynn51 It's the extract that always gets me on solo or even with other divers (never mind when some shit like diving _under_ the pelican instead of _into_ it AFTER it's landed somehow happens). Especially given the "keep moving" tip. Sure, you can run down the timer for a mandatory 42-minute mission, play the high-stakes 2-minute window of stratagem-less-insta-fail, and time the exfil for a literal last second exit... but a another option would be nice. I guess cheesing with the jump pack is viable. Completing the mission is one thing, but making it out with precious samples is another.
And I kinda miss the autobots. At least they could be very effectively dealt with at range. 2-shotting a hulk with the anti-mat and even the satisfaction of nailing the basic bots one-hit with a DMR while no other automaton notices is undoubtedly satisfying. Oh well maybe the Illuminate will be... _fun_ 🥹
@@vituperation Check the starmap, the bots are already back!
@lhynn51 from the way you describe the weapons it seems you get swarmed i and maybe you used drones a few to many times and lost the ability to do crowd control so unlike the lower difficulties crowds are much more dangerous then the odd charger so try focusing on solely crowd control when in any fight and kill the big things when its over
10:10 a common misconception that playing solo spawns less bugs, when in actuality it spawns the same amount of bugs as it would with 4 players, *so long as those four players are all with 100 meter radius of each other*.
That would still mean less bugs so.....
@@MDestron2282 no, same amount of *enemies* (both bugs and bots) when you play as a group as there are playing solo. *Potential* for more spawns *if* everyone does not play tight or players are going rogue to do side obj
@@Gerginationwrong lol. Everything you’ve just said is factually incorrect

How are you running so fast? I use the same light armor and I can’t outrun anything lmao even tho I’m holding the sprint hitton
For bugs my favorite load out rn is breaker shotgun, 6 shooter, incendiary.
Quasar cannon, orbital railgun, 110mm rocketpods and gatling sentry
I pushed up to hazard 6 on solo play by myself using all these same concepts (pushed to being creative as i had no gear yet) and then dropped off them when i started playing with my friends. i was onto something.
Chargers ankles got sent to the shadow realm @ 1:03 😵💫
Good Timing Diver! about to report to the bug front after my time against the automatons. For Super Earth!
Have you done a video on movement? How to dive and sprint effectively, how to get out of being perma slowed by hunters, just overall getting out of tough situations
They do despawn as well but you gotta be a ways away. It’s why I like light armor cuz I can become the running man.
200+ hours fighting terminids and so far this loadout has given me no problems while fighting them:
Primary: Dominator - for stagger and armor pen
Secondary: Redeemer - for clearing out small enemies quickly
Grenade: Impact - for instakilling bile spewers
Support weapons: EAT/Quasar - for handling chargers and titans
Backpack: Laser rover - for passively keeping smaller enemies at bay and saving ammo (take shield charger if you have problems with dodging/kiting enemies)
1st Stratagem: Eagle airstrike - perfect for clearing out bug holes and deleting whatever is in its path
2nd Stratagem: This could be whatever you want, I personally use cluster to clear out fodder so you can focus on the bigger enemies
Armor: I’ve found medium medic armor works the best in any given situation, longer lasting stim effects and higher stim count essentially make you invincible since you’re constantly on regen
Great job! Great videos
Most importantly: Play what you think is fun! I see so many people trying to find the meta loadout, they forget to just enjoy themselves.
@@theSato Never thought about it like that, I guess Min-Max can be fun. I guess I personally just prefer trying new things.
Thought burning/gas damage was still bugged unless you're host, did they fix that?
If you're solo you're the ho... you know what, never mind.
whats your fav loadout that can work on both solo and teams?

Blitzer q cannon. Sheild gaurd.
Orbital gattling airburst.
Fire grenades

Try it.
Nice tips, can you make another for the Automatons. Thank you!
I feel like the small obes are the more dangerous cause they come in hordes, theyre fast af, they got unlimitet attacks
what primary weapon are you using in the video?
I just wish you could recolour the circle. It's barely visible in hectic fights.
Bro, I'm waiting for your new videos!!
The devs need to introduce ways to get samples without being in lvl 7. This is way too hard to beat.
i wonder amout smoke grenades, i used them from time to time, and bugs behind them just completely stop and just stay in place whole duration
You forgot to mention one thing you need on your side sometimes.... Luck
I am waiting for the full gameplay
10:38 "Don't call me Shirley!"
It takes only one second to fully charge now, so it's not a big deal
are you using a Breaker shotgun or something else?

As someone who from release date has been playing exclusively with medium armor I CANNOT play with light armor to save my life. Maybe with the shield generator is different but without it and with light armor you get dropped by anything. I tried it and did not have the bubble shield and I think I died 5 times in the first 5 minutes and just quit that mission and changed loadouts
I have no idea why in my level 9 mission I have like 3 time more bugs than takibo in his videos.
Advice for automaton?

What's up you legend.
9:49 "Bugs are like cockroaches." Yes, yes they are 🤣
Great job Lenda
Meanwhile here I am level 74, playing on level 2 easy 😅....and I still die some way
Just play bots for a week straight and then when you jump over to bug missions they'll be a joke in comparison. I can wipe bugs on difficulty 9 all day.
Strange. I find the bots alot easier than the bugs.
Bots are far easier
Bots are a lot easier if you know how to fight them. Stealth makes the bots a lot easier
Bugs are harder in my opinion.

Yeah to me in order to play bugs at higher levels, you have to constantly be on the run, and prioritize the smaller bugs esp the hunter. But I hate playing them in general anyway
I just can't justify the arc thrower, if you have access to the fire shot gun. I loved the arc thrower til it took an arrow to the knee.
Between that and fire nades? Breaches chafe gets pretty shredded.
What primary gun was that?
Takibo is a breaker enjoyer
This game pisses me off so much. It's so fun but my entire squad keeps disconnecting every single time I've played this game. No fun at all.
I hear ya. I’m not having a great time with the bugs fwiw, I’m shelving the game until they introduce another faction. They have a lot to work on with the game, besides creating new content
Git gud
dont sleep on the ballistic shield, after the update it does pretty good at stopping hunters from hitting you from behind
I always bring one Turret - usually the Gatling. First it creates detraction as Bugs start to prioritise it and it kills fast and many. I usually get 30 - 40 kills easily.
Can you make the same video for the automatons ?
oh wait...
Edit : this message is outdated, they are back, let's defend democracy comrades
When playing in a group focus on closing all holes or factories before doing the main objective.
It'll make evac a million times easier.
clearing bug holes and fabricators will make the mission harder because destroying them increases enemy spawn rates
@@NeulooI hope they change this, makes no sense closing holes/factories spawns MORE enemies
Unfortunately it makes sense GAME logic wise because of how it deals with spawn/population lag
@@NeulooI'm saying this out of experience not logic even tho it makes total sense logically as well.
How can they spawn MORE when their homes are closed?
Close the holes and you just need to be worried about patrols. Extraction is smooth af.
It's been well known that focusing on the MO is what spawns the most enemies.
@@Neuloo not for extraction, holes and outposts send extra patrols once you start extracting...try destroying all of them and sometimes you will have crickets while waiting for pelican one
Best advanced tip, don't create or follow a meta, use what you want to use, RUclipsrs are always saying something is overpowered.
you're clearly using a macro for the railgun
just a side thing: dont solo objectives. seen too many players think they can solo a heavy nest just to die, drop 20+ samples and then quit out of frustration. Just stick with the group pls
i solo
It’s definitely doable but attempting to solo nests, shrieker nests, stalker nest, and the geological survey guaranteed spawns will very likely result in death
The only tip you need is to pray and hope you dont crash after 20m in the game
I should have prayed more just crashed just when the extract landed
Just fix your system, mine hardly ever crashes
Possibly 2 to 3 crashes in 90 hours game play. You’re just sour milk
@Isok115 like the other two commenters pointed out, you just gotta fix your dogsh*t system because my game crashed only 2 to 3 times in over 60 hours of playtime.
It feels like yall are playing a different game altogether. You say "Make space on helldive difficulty" but even on level 7 difficulty I have - at all times - about 25 jumping bugs (hunters?) on me. They jump faster than I can run and I might, if im lucky, ahve time to turn and shoot a single one before the other 20 nuke me.
Then theres the invisible shits and the 4 chargers and 2 bile titans behind those. Forget a quasar, you cant sit still for even 2 seconds before youre dead. Dont even bother thinking about the objectives; you spend 45 minutes just running in a straight line accomplishing nothing but death. Youre in luck now: No support weapons anymore!
Am I missing something? Not a single jumping bug in your video here successfully hits you. I have 17+ of them at all times.... on difficulty 7
Im only level 17, i take breaker, flamethrower, guard dog rover, 500kg and eagle cluster, get like 500 kills a game and we do all the objectives
pistol only challenge when
ya know what also dove to hell ...the performance
iuno about everyone else but i started keeping track of how much time went down the drain due to the game crashing and I'm currently at 410minutes. Arrowhead needs to fucking figure it out or give us some free stratagems or special content cause its fucking pissing me off
lol same.
