Welcome to the Arc gang :-) The arc thrower is my favorite weapon in helldivers - always was. Now it is in its best shape ever. I have never used the jump pack, though - may need to try it. I think it pairs very well with a utility primary weapon (especially eruptor).
She's got a mind of her own sometimes but when she connects!!! ⚡⚡ The best is when the chaining arcs go around corners. Also if you are at the 55 m limit it will hit the first enemy then chain BEYOND that with the additional arcs! Glorious!!! With the jump pack you can charge while airborne then hit the ground blazing. "Ghostbusters" build with shield generator to give you time to respond if they get too close, diligence counter sniper to hit the out of reach targets.
I don't know if I missed it in the video or if you didn't know, but the small terminids car now be completely destroyed with enough damage, which means less bodies on the battlefield which is an indirect buff to the Arc Thrower as the arc as less bodies to be stuck on.
@@bodkin7841after trying it out for the first time I do agree it’s on the crutch tier, but I wouldnt say it’s OP Basically I think it’s a crutch in the sense that it’s really easy to use, like, the skill ceiling is very low I guess is one way to put it, but I also don’t think is OP or anything, I think is perfectly fine balance wise, and it also has a kinda high mastery ceiling so I think is fine at it is
I love that weapon on both fronts too. When things get hairy, I can be sloppy with my aim and still melt everything. It is a little frustrating sometimes with the misfires into the weeds and dead bodies but that's the price I think for how powerful it is. The other thing too is if you hit one enemy at the very edge of its range at 55 m it will chain even FURTHER and keep going and also kill enemies around the corners that are not in line of sight. Jump pack pairs nicely as well with DCS for sniper/shock trooper loadout. Get up high and rain down terror with lead and lightning. Now that we have the PLAS 15 Loyalist, I take that for gunships which was pretty frustrating before (I'd bring an autocannon sentry for anti air).
The arc thrower pairs well with the Blitzer. Bring a statement to deal with bile Titans and you walk through the bugs. I actually had to switch load outs because it got so trivial (on difficulty 7-8)
recently got back into the game and noticed its great against illuminate as well, aiming higher up to kill the flying overseers and letting it arc down into the horde of voteless, ive gravitated towards the sickle for close up range since its a fairly high dps and i dont have to worry about ammo, as well as the senator (i need a better secondary for my build imo) and the impact grenades. as for strategems ive been using either the jump pack for distance or the guard rover for the call out ability it has, firing at enemies i may not have noticed at first (though it can be bad in condensed areas obviously) the 110 rocket pods for anything i cant kill easily, and a napalm strike to provide ground control which helps me put distance imbetween me and anything gunning towards me
I love the Arc Blitzer and with the Guard Dog Rover, I personally believe it is the best clutch loadout to have in level 10 bugs. last time I used the arc thrower, I hated it. After seeing this, I might have to try it again.
It's always a great day to see more joining the Arc diver core. Welcome brothers !!! I like running peak physique armor ( Heavy ) and jet pack with my Arc. melee the small bugs that get to close a focus the arc on the big ones
The stun is genuinely insane. The arc thrower can decimate groups of light and medium enimies and lock down heavies, lining them up for teamates to throw down a strategem or hit a weakpoint. Even in solo you can handilly defend yourself with it (unless youre doing a high difficulty dive, the arc thrower cant keep up with the sheer volume of enimies). Bottom line, it wont be making the big kills like an autocannon or mowing down fodder like a stalwart or flamethrower but it will grind any kind of push to a halt and clean up smaller groups with ease all without needing a resuply.
I disagree on the difficulty thing. All my clips are diff 10 Unless I misunderstand you. It clears chaff and mediums extremely well imo, I literally solo a max difficulty breach in the first clip after the intro, and the arcthrkwer user can just use thermite with it for heavies so he doesn't need teammate support

Yep I got over 500 kills on the bot front in a ICBM match. Stun locks multiple hulks until my OPS lands on them or strafing run is good too, thermites are great while they’re stunned as well. Pairs well with jump pack as stated, but I also like the guard dog with it too. Any of the shotguns, lib-pen, eruptor, crossbow etc works well for your primary. Senator to finish off hulks while they’re stunned is the cherry on top
imo you dont even need the senator. It 2 taps their eyeball if you know where to aim it and 6-7 their body if you don't. Which isn't that bad tbh since it chains off the hulk and keeps killing the patrol
It's fantastic now, but you gotta keep in mind and adjust for it's weirdness. Bad tracking through foliage or near some kinds of cover or through too many corpses can get you in trouble. It's a good trade-off for being able to solo a double-Hulk patrol and hold ground against a bug breach...WITH the jumppack buffs? We're backer more than we've ever been.
The arc thrower is amazing. I already loved the weapon. Even before Buffdivers. With the limited 35 M range. I still think it needs TWO more changes to make it as FUN as it can be: 1)The FIRST ARC you shoot SHOULD BE ACCURATE and not random. So you can aim down the weak points of the big/medium targets. It would add alot of skill expression to an already super fun weapon. Especially vs hulks! It is frustrating that it only randomly goes for the eye >.> 2)It should Jam the systems of the BIG boys AKA the Tanks,Chargers,Factory,Biles. After a number of shots depending on how big the unit is. It would shut them down entirely. The numbers can be tweaked imagine 1 shot to stop a charger's charge. 3 shots to stun it then 6 to kill it. (AS IT IS NOW) 2 shots to stop a behemoth's charge. 5 to stun it. 8 to kill it. 4 shots to stop a Titan for spewing. 8 shots to slow it. 12 to stun it. (Not very good but it would be Op otherwise it just offers more fun options and team work!) Play with those numbers for all units.
