Looking through your old vids, its already sick that you made tutorials for your sound design. But that you offer all your stuff for free is amazing. Be amazing if you made new ones with all the new daws and vsts
One thing I already love about this guy is that he interacts with his fans and listeners by making tutorials of such. It's really amazing and he's now my new favourite artist. Good job man c:
This was so useful. Just seeing you randomly select and modulate things without even really 'measuring' it and still coming out with an amazing sound is awesome.
Why does your cover off 'You've gotta go' in your first studio time sound so much better than seven lions? And can i just say you really are the best producer i've ever heard. I think you and tristam have the perfect idea of how dubstep should be
Man, you are amazing. No joke. An inspiration to all. Only you can select random Bend -/+ and make it sound good. I salute you, and all your dubsteppery godliness.
Very cool with the sub bass playing with the higher frequency noises. I was wondering why you were calling them "bass" noises when there wasn't any low frequency. But it all came together in the end, and now I'm definitely gonna use that technique.
You are amazing! That was an awesome tutorial and good enthusiastic personality. Also Congrats on your monstercat release on the 21st! Cannot wait for it!!!! :)
Oh my god, thank you very much for this! I learned a lot from this video and I'm really happy that you decided to make a tutorial. I won't download the presets, as that is against my ethical principals, but thank you very much for this 8D
Dope video! Thanks for sharing your workflow, and even more for showing how you get the tone of your sounds! I find lots of videos showing you how to get the basic sound, but then a lack of the distortion, compression, and EQ settings to get the final tone.
This is definitely the most helpful tutorial I've found, too. Please keep them coming we need more of this. I also have a little request: What about showing us how to put the basses on an arrangement? I mean okay, let's assume I can make awesome basses but when I need to put it all together...game over. Just sayin, a tutorial of how to construct a dubstep drop musical-wise would be cool too (: Thanks you for this, seriously
Hey Bro i just wanna thank you for these tutorials and stuff .. For showing us of your ways to making cool music, for helping us (the beginners) to develop fast and properly.. You are 1of the best EDM producers and keep going.. So thank you very much.. God bless U ! :)
You know what, can you just do everything you havent done so far in the next episode including the intro melody synth, one shot drums and everything inbetween and anything extra you wanna add :D every little helps man, I love seeing how you do your awesome tracks! I wanna know everything there is to know, give us your knowledge :D this is my last comment ( i promise) ;)
Hi VR, Once you've taken us through the different sounds can you talk us through how you put the bars together. Such as any automation youve added. Plus explain if you have layered any other sounds on top of the main bass sounds as it looks/sounds like you have some syths over the top for texture. Really appreciate you doing this as I listen to your tunes all the time and I'm still learning :-)
keep making sound design tutorials please. I really appreciate it, and they help me alot. The Massive ones are great, as are the Serum ones. I would appreciate it if you would make some on Harmor and Sytrus. I know you use both of them, and I would linke to be as efficient and skilled with these vsts as you are. Thank you sir!
SOOO SICKKKKK! Pleaseeee do a tutorial on the mix and master!!!! So clean abd bright. Punchy and Dynamic!! Straight Brilliance. #4 PPPPPPPLLLLLEEEEEAAASSSEEEEEE!!!!!!
wow ich hätte nicht gedacht dass du aus deutschland bist, hab bei deinem englisch gemerkt dass du kein muttersprachler bist ;) wikipedia und bamm deine musik ist echt gut thumbs up und weiter so
thank you very much! reall! Your video helped me a lot, especially on the part of the production, please continue to update as much as possible, if I finished the English course, I really hope to pay tuition to learn with you. Anyway, thank you very much, although the video has been a long time.
im so glad i learned a lot of sound design/production before youtube was around. i learned so much in those days on my own through trial an error. tutorials have been extremely helpful since then but for people beginning use these tips and make an original sound, dont just replicate tracks exactly like tutorials. it kills your flavor. been hearing it for the past 10 years it shits me a bit
I would love a deeper explanation on how to make solid kick and snares. it seems pretty simple but i have trouble with it. please!! thank you. Also keep it up with the epic tracks man!!
x3D FluXx How in the fuck did you come up with that? There's NO way it's Evil Gameboy, there are just the visuals from Evil Gameboy in the end, it does not mean it actually is it.
Somebody please make a remix of 12:54 🎵 Studio time, away with the frowns🎵 🎵 We're gonna make super awesome sounds🎵 🎵 Na na na... mumble... mumble grumble...🎵 🎵 studio TIIIIMMMEEE! 🎵
I really wanna see how you put your sounds together. They always sound like so much is going on I wanna see how you layer the sounds after the drop and put them in order
Be careful with the pan position in massive. Turning it all the way to either side with every synth in your project will give you phasing problems in the final product. And phasing issues can ruin an otherwise great mix. I'd rather use the dimenson expander, turning the Size all the way down and turning the Wet to 10, 11 or 12 o'clock. When adding distortion after the synth, you'll have to turn the Wet down a little, since the dirtortion with amplify the Dimension Expander.
Hi, Great work and so nice to share some advice ! The track is good. Has it been released yet ? By the way, any idea how to make the FM8 bass growl or similar using only NI Massive ?
fuckin love this guy, this is why:
1)He knows what he is doing
2)He is amazing at what he does
3)And he's a lad!
I agree. He's good at this stuff, and he's just a good dude.
And because hesVirtual Riot;)
I made the loop myself from single hit samples from the "Dubstep Monster Bass Vol. 2" pack from Loopmasters ^^
If someone makes good music with my sounds I don't mind. *cheesy mode activated* The secret weapon is the creativity ^^
You're awesome, man. These are so helpful. I truly appreciate you sharing how to sound design purely to help others create music.
Looking through your old vids, its already sick that you made tutorials for your sound design. But that you offer all your stuff for free is amazing. Be amazing if you made new ones with all the new daws and vsts

I couldn't have said it any better myself
I am allergic to cats so i chose to get an iguana :D
Crazy Redd not just that
dubstep, computers, cats, DAWS, Massive, FM8 Camstudio, equalizers, Nexus, and virtual riot
+AZKILLER01 I love iguanas!!!
Just curious, but who are the 9 people who disliked this, and why? This is helpful stuff from somebody who CLEARLY knows what he's doing.
Maybe the don't like dubstep :/
+X-Ploit Gaming ok..... then they dont watch it
+FingerBlaster must have been skrillex
it doesnt say its for dubstep. you could dislike that you get distracted because of the cat. its completely ok to dislike sth.
TVD- The Remedy I agree, this is a professional music producer and he's showing everyone how to be one thanks to this guy
Will talk about this in the next episode :)
One thing I already love about this guy is that he interacts with his fans and listeners by making tutorials of such. It's really amazing and he's now my new favourite artist. Good job man c:
the fact that the outro is the intro for studio time season 2 is actually crazy, i love this guy

I didn't think you'd be able to show all the stuff in that amount of time, but you did, and in great detail. Great video!

I learned so much in just this short video. Please do more of these! You're so full of knowledge and explain very well.
Hands down the best tutorial in this area of sound design I've seen. I can only but hope to see more!
VR is the best think that has ever happened to amateur producers starting out. your tuts are so informative and easy to follow bro
Thats the small clip I'm talking about in this episode haha ;D It's not a full track.
Very cool with the sub bass playing with the higher frequency noises. I was wondering why you were calling them "bass" noises when there wasn't any low frequency. But it all came together in the end, and now I'm definitely gonna use that technique.
Ableton : ok, FL studio : ok, Reason : fucking alien language too me :D

Isn't NMSV the latest format? ^^ I was using version 1.3.1 here.
You are amazing! That was an awesome tutorial and good enthusiastic personality. Also Congrats on your monstercat release on the 21st! Cannot wait for it!!!! :)
Cubase 5. It is a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and is much like Ableton Live or Fl Studio. Massive is the plugin he uses to make his bass growls.
