    Since people have been commenting on this since the last video: The "racist samples" folder is an in-joke between me and a friend where we shared folders with exotic / ethnic / world music / tribal kind of samples that are usually hard to find. The stuff in there is actually awesome!

    The stuff you're able to do creatively in ableton is absolutely insane to me. I've never seen anyone get as in-depth with custom creations like this! Thanks for the tutorials

      Check out Nasko, he also makes some crazy post processing chains like these. His vids are really good if you want to learn Kilohearts related stuff aswell.

    I would absolutely love to see VR play with BitWig. The process for making these randomized stacks can be done in seconds in BitWig using two modulators.

      I had a go at that this morning (just started trialing Bitwig) but ended up with far more modulators. Which two allow different random control across all these targets?

      @@oikosounds If you use the stack spread modulator and one of the random modulators you can use the different stack spread modes to evenly spread the random signals. It’s basically unison but for any signal.

      I tried this but I don't really understand how to achieve it. If I create and EQ+ the stack spread module is not allowed on here because there's only one voice in the EQ, so this is pretty much only achievable if you already are using a synth with like 16 voices right?@@FixxedMiXX

    m4l expression control -> random on each midi in -> map to whatever parameter; gets you randomised settings per note w/smoothing control, log/lin response curves, saves you the processing of however many random LFOs

      (you can also just turn the expression control device off if you find a setting you like, the values will stick until you turn the device back on)

    I have about 13hrs total experience with a DAW, I just got recommended this for no reason. Watched it all the way through. What the f*** is even going on ? I bet experienced producers also have trouble understanding what sorcery just happened here. Sick vid ❤️

      the entire culture is marketed bs. the cepstrum is derived fft(log10(fft())) but instead of making that easy to understand and use, everybody just sells you garbage and talks about how great garbage is. but you know how many passionate audio developers have been booted from the field by being made "unpopular". i'm xoxos, i won the second kvr DC, i should have won the first one because the guy that made it (tolga) made it for me to win, to promote my "liberation of technologies". guess what the guys making money and controlling you like to stay that way they wear aprons it's obvious guess but you can't you'll just blow it off like everyone else does.

    These effect chains are nuts! I tried making the CHAOS EQ myself in FL Studio using Patcher! I made an entire video about it which is up on my channel now! And for those interested, the preset is free to download!

    This is super fun, thanks! Tip to save CPU so many LFO instances: open the LFO m4l device in Max and remove the "multi-map" functionality connected to the menu icon, then re-save as "LFOSingle" or similar.

      im curious when you guys do this where do you save the new LFO to? i wanted it to be under initial Audio Effects rather than User Library Max Audio Effects, it there a way to put it there so it's easier to access?

      @@HateSupreme User Library. Alternatives: a) name it something memorable and use search (cmd-f, ctrl-f) to find it. b) use color tags for you most used devices, c) (most work) save all your devices/plugs as presets, put those in folders to group related tools, and color tag the folder..

      I think theres a lot of people who dont actually listen to the music of virtual riot or au5, but watch their tutorials anyway. It's a lesson in that you can always learn smth even from music you dont necessarily like

    coming from my shitty little version of ableton lite that came with my midi controller I dream of being able to make the things you do. Had Idols on loop for way too much of my childhood. I intend to save up for a suite version of Ableton 12 asap and im def using your videos to try and come up with some crazy shit. After refining what i knew about music theory and sound design the randomness and experimentation that comes down to making truly interesting sounds is really catching my attention. i have a lot to learn from these vids!

    My computer is not having fun running this effect chain lol. But I'm using it in a solo project with just whatever sound I'm designing then resampling that and dropping it into my actual project where I want it. Easy workaround for any other 8 gig ram macbook pro users lol

    Watching this just makes me wonder, why the hell isn't virtual riot using bitwig? Crazy modulations like this are such a pain in ableton. Bitwig has so many powerful modulation features for creative stuff like this. It's a sound designers dream

    With ableton 12 when you map a lfo to a function you keep the ability to modify the parameter by hand :)

    Incredible, i love this !
    I found out recently that you can edit a copy of the LFO Max patch to remove he additional mapping target window (located top right of the effect), it makes the LFO less CPU intensive and ease the stacking of multiple ones.

    Kind of simplistic but I was wondering if you can cover something that has been stumping me for a long time. The DnB Reese bass example at 12:07 has that chugging 8th note attack feel before you apply the EQ8. Very familiar in the genre but I can’t suss it out. What is the concept behind programming that aspect of the sound? Thanks again for all you share.

    Instead of using abletons LFO I use a max4live device that randomises all parameters you set it to I use (randomizer). Fantastic video as always! Loving the content you're putting out ❤

    This is why Bitwig is superior imo, it's like the whole DAW is like Serum but it's very obvious to be used that way.

      Ive been thinking in the same vein, what he could do in bitwig. But also since I quit Ableton last, I think they added a decent amount of modulation devices, like env follower and lfo so I wonder what the difference in capabilities is now.

    max for live has a "device randomizer" that can map and randomize an entire plugin with one instance if you're curious about saving time

    If you wanna make a synth patch like this then PhasePlant is really good at this kind of stuff. I made some cool neuro sounds, growls, complex melodic synths using this method. I do however sometimes miss the in depth control over your sound
