@@Viking_Luchador In your defense, DB sucks at doing their match ups. They just "make up math" to give the audience an "understanding" of how powerful these characters are. They're making up numbers for parody like feats for characters. I only got into JJBA (Jojo) because of the Dio fight, but when my buddy told me that Alucard can literally tear the space time continuum on will power alone, I knew the fight was lopsided and favored towards Dio because Dio is Dio. One fight that they did amazingly well on, which was pretty much only because it was lopsided and one sided, was Omniman vs Homelander. And the only reason it was properly done was because the math in their feats were easy to calculate, and even some of the information was literally pulled from the comics, meaning less BS could be pulled. Another fight done poorly was All Might vs Might Guy, which was done just because of the "Might" in their name and their personalities. All Might punched a hole through Might Guy's chest and created a vacuum in the process, which should have sent his organs, skeleton, and pretty much his entire body that wasn't ripped apart out the backside, but somehow, despite immense bloodloss in a gaping wound, he used the 8th gate, which requires him to have blood in his body, which should have been evaporated by the wind pressure alone, or just have been gone by the hole in his body that was the size of a watermelon. Not to mention, All Might's Pro Career as a Hero was the same amount of time that Guy was alive for, 32 years I believe. And Might guy literally only started at like 5, so All Might would have an additional 5 years over him.

Also, The connections between All Might and Might Guy are that they are fist-fighting anime heroes, have the word might in their names, and are mentors to an underdog who started out powerless by their canon's definition (Izuku Midoriya and Rock Lee, respectively). Both have suffered crippling injuries from major villains, causing them to retire (with All Might losing half of his digestive and respiratory system to All For One and Might Guy losing the use of his right leg after his fight with Madara Uchiha), and both use powers that can cause harm to their user's body (One For All and the Eight Gates Release Formation technique, respectively). Both were also born without the ability to use the powers of their respective universes (All Might was born Quirkless and Guy couldn't use any Elemental Releases), and both of them usually have a smile on their faces. Both of them used to have a mentor/parental figure of their own early in their lives, who later died after passing their power and legacy onto them (Nana Shimura and Might Duy, respectively).

The fact that Storm can cast elements with just a thought is a massive gap in casting time vs Korra's mandatory martial arts poses and breathing techniques to bend elements.

Even without being intimately familiar with Storm's capacities, this fight appeared pretty one-sided. Without going into the scale differences (which were rather noticeable even to a casual outsider), Storm's ability to manipulate elements with a thought on both a grand scale and precise accuracy already would put her at a big advantage even if Korra and Storm were close in scale for power level. The main two advantages Korra would have are her hand-to-hand capacity (seeing as her bending is somewhat dependent on that, I'd assume she could at least go even there), and her earth, metal, and fire bending. Those additional types of bending don't end up making a huge impact, since they either get countered by Storm's tendency to stay up in the air (making earth/metal bending unreliable for targeted attacks), or neutralized by the general torrential downpour that Storm tends to bring with her (fire doesn't tend to be as effective in a hurricane).
Or just the Marvel grip on physics 1/2 their super heroes can dodge light beams (they move as fast or faster than light in an atmosphere where each air molecule would be hitting them with an infinite amount of momentum), they therefore beat pretty much every else in fiction Unless the writers don’t want them to in which case storm can get cut up by an exploding petrol tank.

Storm is one of the best fighter in marvel. Korra just had no hope of winning. Even with a deformed body she still faster than what most people can think.

Storm is literally one with nature. She can sense any movement in the atmosphere even on the other side of the planet. She is immune to the effects of weather her body is so in tune. Her very nerves are connected with the wind, clouds and vapor. There is literally nothing that an Avatar has shown that is more impressive than that, in terms of being one with the elements. I'd love to see arguments otherwise that somehow tops that.

Thing is about Storm's claustrophobia, is how she will go berserk in order to escape. Most of the power feats mentioned in this episode, were at times when she was focused and keeping a leash on her powers. In other words, Storm is almost always holding back from using her full power.
If memory serves, that planet sized storm they mentioned was actually caused by her panicking unconsciously while trapped as a statue by Dr Doom. I think at least. I know she almost wiped out Europe that time, but I don't remember the exact details.
Found an error at 19:39. It says Storm's power is over 500 exatons of TNT, and states that's 250 more powerful than Korra. But Korra's power is in gigatons, which would make Storm over 250 BILLION times more powerful.
This has happened alot, including with genos and War machine and Multiple others like Booster gold and Cable, But Except Kakashi vs obi wan and Ben vs Green lanteren, they-re battles have always ended with better opponents

Korra was capable of certain things Storm wasn't, but Storm is on a whole level higher. I think Storm wanted to see what Korra could do and it was why she didn't end it swiftly.
Storm treatises iceman to make his powers more precise and absolute, it’s the weather phenomenon that she’s able to precisely control of whatever planet she is on or surrounding area. Meaning if she was on Jupiter, you might as call pack your bags

There are benders in Avatar shown with the ability to pull the air out of people's lungs so Korra would be capable of that too. Storm would still win though

I’m probably in the minority, but I’m one of those weird people who likes this matchup and episode. Storm is really cool, and it’s nice to see her get an episode.
Agreed, Storm is probably my favorite X-Men (either changing between her or Glob depending on what day you ask me) And though she's far from my favorite character, it's pretty cool to see more X-Men representation continued with Phoenix (who at the very least has some very interesting history to pull from)
Yeah great that storm got an episode, she's awesome, but this is like an infant vs connor macgregor. Absolutely unfair to Korra. Korra vs Jessica Jones is more fair but Marvel's power scaling just calculates totally differently.

Storm lack any kind of super human toughness, thus she is fully vulnerable to regular attacks and both earth and firebending, she also has full immunity from all forms of weather, so all forms of water, air, ice and boltbending are actually useless aginst her.
Lol, do you think this is Dragonball Z and power level is the only thing that matters? Yeah Storm can project a star's worth of energy, but she's not physically invulnerable. She can still be hurt by normal human strength punches and kicks.

I like (fill in the blank more) so they'd win!" they actually back things up with numbers. In this case, as they point out in the post-match wrap-up: Storm had 2 instant "I Win" buttons that should could bust out at any time (rip the air from Korra's lungs or fry her brain with internal electricity). So yeah, Storm had this one in the bag from the git-go. Still it was a fun animation. :D

@rayzerot You... do realize that that was necessary for the plot of Avatar: The Last Airbender, right? And it's not like Aang was a prodigy with all of the elements, either. The first time he handled fire, Aang wasn't paying attention to his surroundings and accidentally burned Katara's hands by trying to imitate a fire juggler. Second time, his fire was weak due to his personal conflicts with having injured Katara. Aang also struggled with Earth bending due to the more rigid and direct philosophy behind it as opposed to the creative freedom based philosophy of airbending (it also didn't help that Toph was being too brazen in her approach to teaching Aang). And it was revealed during the final episode of the series that Aang hadn't fully mastered Earth and Fire when he fought Ozai. So no. Contrary to this claim, Aang was no Mary Sue.

Lightning is a rare fire bending skill in Korra’s world so Storm actually has control of 3 of the 4 elements The avatar does. But Storm was gonna win either way. Shes an Omega level mutant that has displayed global power of epic proportions that even exceeds the avatar.

Metal bending is nothing to Storm, she has dealt with both magneto and Polaris (both being able to destroy sentinels and manipulate large amounts of metal) Korra can't redirect lightning either. Even if Korra could redirect lightning it wouldn't of mattered since Storm can dodge light, also no lightning bender was capable of redirecting multiple lightning strikes.

Based on their conversations, I think they’ve known each other since middle school. Though I’m not sure how much they interacted until they started hosting Death Battle together (and that the big first impression was Boomstick forgetting to put on pants on that first day)

Loved that touch, though it hurt to see Sonic there. I wouldn’t say it’s a full stomp, though. The only genuine advantage storm had was that her powers were physical instead of spiritual, so energy bending was neglected. Cora’s light spirit form, for example, could theoretically meet the physical scale of Storm’s power, but there’s still the range and pinpoint accuracy of Ororo’s abilities. It was essentially someone using CQC against a sniper.
Which is wild because Sonic beat Mario first in their first Death Battle while Mario won the rematch. Same with Link and Cloud, two battles where each won once.
The Present Storm is the most powerful version of her . She is officially classified as an Omega level .She terraformed Mars and created an entire atmosphere for the planet and renamed it to Arako and became its Ruler. She became the reagent of Sol ( our solar system ) in the S.W.O.R.D story line . Even without her powers she has proved to be fatal . Storm's precision should never be under estimated . She literally caused the electrical impulses between the nueron's in sinister's brain and fried Mr Sinister's brain just with a conscious thought . She has literally pulled the Air out of lungs several times . She can flash freeze even without water .
Let's be realistic, Storm didn't terraform Mars on her own, even though theoretically she could, but she didn't do it on-page. She only created the Atmosphere for Arrakko and "married the sea and the sky", which speaks plenty on its own. However, she didn't terraform herself on-page. And she also didn't name the planet... I believe Magneto did. Or was it the Professor? Not sure...

In scaling Korra at the power level of every past avatar made this Storm VS The Entire Avatar Legacy…and still with Storm being Omega level, this was never close.

Just because Storm had an overwhelming advantage doesn't mean Korra lacked tricks that could theoretically secure an advantage. I think they had to ignore season 2 because that's where she loses connection with the past avatars. they didn't want to nerf her so this is a version of korra that doesn't get to turn into a kaiju, but also doesn't get severed from past avatars.

I actually think this match-up makes perfect sense. This season has been all about celebrating Death Battle’s 10 year history, and with this episode they’re just trying to outdo the iconic Thor vs Raiden in the category of “Most One-Sided Match-Up Featuring a Lightning-Wielding Marvel Character”
Weird how some who showed up were ones that got either entirely erased, like Sonic (exsitance eradicated by Flash)or Lobo (soul consumed by the sugar daddy of GR)
6:23 Actually, Asami being Korra's girlfriend was something that was retconed after the fact. Also, Korra was killed in the Avatar state and lost her connection to her past lives meaning she can't use any of the feats of the previous avatars before her.
I have to say: Amon never really “dodged lightning.” It was revealed that he was always subtly editing people’s movements to beat them when it was discovered that he was a psychic blood bender. FYI, even that power would lose against Storm.
The crazier part here is that the writers were kind of justified. What would classify as the weather when it comes to her powers when it comes to a different planet? There's a planet where there's molten glass raining on it constantly; if she were to go there and use her abilities, she'd just suddenly have the power to manipulate glass.
Storm can also: Cause earth quakes, cause lava spouts, control magnetism, and control sub-atomic particles on mass. The subatomic particle control likely being her actual power. Her power to control atmosphere scales of matter with nano-scale levels of precision and having total awareness of it all is how she makes her 'weather control powers'. The fact it's weather was likely sub-conscious, as she grows, her limitation drop away. Crazy that she isn't even near the power ceiling of the Marvel Universe.
Storm's control over the weather is so powerful and precise that she could create a force field to protect herself and could even counter blood bending. All while simultaneously throwing lighting, ice and or tornadoes individually or all at once at Korra. Giving her no chance

As they have characters capable of manipulating reality, cosmic forces, traveling at the speed of light and etc, and these characters end up interacting in a shared universe, the screenwriters are forced to find a way to level up the capabilities of the other characters. Logically and coherently speaking, Storm shouldn't have any physical power, but since you have people like Thor, Hulk and many others in their world, all heroes automatically are physically powerful to some degree, so when they receive a powerful blow, they don't die and will not be inconsistent. The same goes for reflexes, reaction time and etc, they are required to put the characters at that level, so when rolling a fight with an enemy that is millions of times faster than light against a person who only has the power to manipulating the weather, you can tell that even if she doesn't move at such speed, her reaction time mixed with her level of control over her power, makes her able to face such an opponent. Deathstroke did just that against The Flash, because he is some kind of super soldier, he rationalized super fast and was able to predict where the Flash would be and them was able to hit him, even though the guy move faster than light. The funny thing is that these super capabilities are only used for script convenience, because they soon forget that the character can do this and he ends up being defeated or having difficulty in a fight later, which by what he demonstrated in other stories, it should not happen.
Not just that, but a lot of their physical feats would literally build up so much energy that simply doing them would destroy the city/continent/planet/solar system they were currently on or in.
@@cibervader I think its time we make the arena (aka the earth and solar system) stronger, it would be better to make them tied to add a variable which makes each molecule locked in place with each other and become indestructible by non conventional means, aka anything like superpowers, magic and absurd technology that doesn't abide with what we look at as normal in our world would fail to even move a single water molecule. Also, have these characters begin to lose mass when they accelerate until they become basically massless when they approach light speed and disappear and get sent to somewhere like TOBA's domain in marvel or stuff when they exceed it, so they al get nerfed.

The thing for me is that the use of lightning is a BIG deal in the Avatar world. Lighting is literally Storms element of choice in most situations and I'm talking rip everything in half even the earth type lightning

If they have an entire factory dedicated to using Fire benders lightning, then it can be reasonably assumed there is a great deal of a market for those that can shoot lightning. And if there's one factory, chances are it would just be a single time thing. There would doubtlessly be more. But I guess that's both of us making assumptions since the show never explored this topic of multiple regular benders learning what was previously regarded as a legendary skill. -_-
Honestly, I didn't have the highest hopes when I saw this matchup. However, I was pretty impressed and satisfied by the battle, especially how they portrayed Korra and Storm. Well played, guys. Let's see how well Madara vs. Aizen will be.
I know. Their whitewashing of Korra to pretend she's a good character was funny as could be. You could tell they had a hard time not breaking out into laughter recording that because Korra is such a hard character to be a real hypwman for. XD
Storm is easily one of, if not THE, most powerful X-Men of all time. The focused control of elements already present doesn't compare to being able to manipulate weather, lightning, etc. on a whim.
I knew they were going to use the feats of other Avatars as examples of Korra's ability. There's no way a young Korra would even compare to Kiyoshi IMO.
It's also kinda hilarious considering that she permanently lost her connection to the previous Avatars. Like they gave her lightning bending but I've never seen her do it on the show even before she lost her connection to previous Avatars and nobody taught to her after.

I know right 😂 and she doesn’t even have connection to them anymore, so going into the avatar state doesn’t even give her their experience and power… all it does is slightly boost her strength, speed and control over the bending… that’s it. So using that as an excuse doesn’t even make sense. Korra has no feats that come close to kyoshi’s yet and so using her as an example was STUPID.
Its how you actually make her an interesting character. If you're a living goddess with limitless powers and no conceivable weaknesst, you're freaking boring
I feel like everyone saw this coming. I mean, Storm can end fights as soon as they start, it's just not in her nature to do so. So as soon as you put "no holds barred" into the mix, the fight ends immediately.
That's the problem with using these comic book superheroes, I think. Their entire point is that they're unstoppable apart from their sense of morality. Once they stop holding back, they have no other limit.

There are atleast two anime characters that are strong enough to beat most Marvel and DC characters. Naofumi from Shield Hero and Simon from Gurren Lagan. Simon being the stronger of the two. I doubt we will see Naofumi fight until the series catches up with the books but Im expecting Simon might be in the season finale.
I feel like that's because they've been around so much longer and had more stories told about them. I didn't know speedsters were so strong especially to match someone like goku black I had no idea iron man had god buster armor and a damn kill sat ether.
I was reading a manga where the main character's power is instant death at least you thought it was at first. You later find out that his power is essentially being the literal "Omega" of all things. Nothing in this world, the next, or the multiverse has any chance against his power. A being that could be placed above Marvel's celestials with ease was instakilled by him for trying to devour the multiverse the boy was in from outside of it. The power also activates automatically towards anything that shows hostility or is a threat to him.

It’s funny how they gave Korra every buff they could, even lightning redirection (which she never learned as far as I remember, and no she can’t use past avatar knowledge to do it since she’s separated from her past lives), she still got sooo overpowered. Though let’s be honest, we all knew it’d end this way.
Well, it does make things more clear-cut. High-balling Korra as much as possible while low-balling Storm, makes it painfully clear who would win. As everyone's pointed out this was an incredibly obvious outcome for a Death Battle.
As far as lightning redirection, they always use characters at their peak. So this would be Korra with access to all prior avatar abilities through the avatar state. Even so it's not nearly enough to match Storm. Still, it's nice to see a fully powered Korra going all out.
Isn't the redirect something Iroh invented some time in the last 20 or so years of his life? He was only shown to have taught it to Zuko. If the fire lord didn't personally teach her she would not know how to do it.

@@aeso3555 Dracula's transformations are not his ultimate feat, just some of his fancier tricks; he only got serious when he dropped Demonic Megiddo in Ganon's face. Meanwhile Ganondorf had to tap in the Triforce of Power just to free himself from Dracula's grasp, and aside from transforming into Ganon that's pretty much his ultimate technique.

My main issue with DB is always the fact that you basically can only put Marvel characters against DC or Dragon Ball to get a decently fair fight. Grab a random Marvel Hero, throw them against Korra, they win. With how old some hero's are, they have years of stories with ridiculous feats lol. Animation is always a blessing though

Logically the avatar should win since she can control all elements as easily as breathing. But since its Korra we are talking about - there is no way she could win against someone as experienced as Storm :)

Rule of thumb: If they're omega level, and they're not going up against something of an equal general threat level it higher, then the marvel character's gonna win 9 times out of 10
Honestly despite their speed and power stats being one sided for storm, this was still an interesting matchup. Both had incredible abilities to bend the elements and that alone actually made this fight pretty tricky to some extent. Korra definitely had better training as far as i knew (correct me if am wrong) and had a somewhat bigger arsenal to throw at Storm, not to mention with both being able to bend the elements and fly, it would seem like a stalemate, where either of them could finish it with a lethal hit. Both could in theory at least counter, stop and maybe redirect their attacks at each other especially if korra is at her avatar state. But that is also where we draw the line. Over all while they seemingly had the same abilities but storm were way more powerful to boot. Not mention Storm has shown superior control over her abilities. While Storm technically had a more dangerous weakness to explore, Korra was just nowhere near strong enough to capitalize on it. Korra`s arsenal didn't really give that much of a difference either considering energi and spirit bending was completely useless against storm and Fire was an element that could be stopped pretty easily with just proper wind and water control which Storm was good at. The only useful element that Storm couldn`t stop was metal, but unless Korra became even better at manipulating metals around than magneto then it wouldn't be much of a problem either i think. And of course since Storm and the x-men has battled Magneto multiple times, she probably has experience enough to know how to counter it to some extent. The Avatar state gives incredible powers to the wielder but it unfortunately lacks in the power department even if we played ignorant and said it gave 100 times power boost and control and multiplying that with kyoshis continent splitting feat it would still fall short in the long run. So while korra seemingly had better training from birth and a bigger arsenal to hold on to. Storm was just too powerful, much faster and more skilled as an elemental user.

A better match up would’ve been Crystal from the Inhumans since her power set is closer to that of an Avatar. But I feel like Korra would still lose due to Crystal’s power flexibility and Inhuman stats.
Korra is just bigger, she is much more important to world harmony and her access to avatar state give her upper hand in experience, speed and fire power. Maybe Storm can change entire world weather... Korra can open the spirit portal, turn into Kaiju and trap spirit of darkness and chaos into tree. The death of avatar can lead to a hundres years of chaos, death of Storm can resulte in grief of world mutants population that's all

She lived in the era of rapid industrialization that severed the connection between humans and spirits. As for importance... hardly. Avatar is important (which is also, debatable),korra not so much. If korra dies, another Avatar is gonna show up at other place, that's it.

This is the second fight that has the combatants go to the spirit world. Also, I like that they showed the silhouettes of past DB losers. That was a nice touch.
Storm could literally solo the entire Avatar world/planet by herself with low difficulty. like she could kill the avatar, the STRONGEST fighter in the avatar verse in their strongest state, with minimal effort and while ALSO could kill billions by destroying and wiping out the entire surface area of the avatar planet with casual effort. This fight was so unfair it’s not even funny, bruh. Not sure if she can take on the spirit world at all since there’s some intangible spiritual beings there that I don’t think storm can even touch at all but everything else in the avatar world, she could wipe out easily including the entire planet with everyone in it in one go so this fight was BEYOND unfair for korra to be involved and more of an excuse just to show how strong storm is than being an even match between fighters.
On the "not sure if she can take on the spirit world" part, Storm has magical powers and is elevated to being a literal goddess in the comics on several occasons. She's opened up a portal between realities just using her mutant powers not the goddess-level ability she's capable of.

Same thing with Kratos where he killed his “gods” easily. A title alone isn’t impressive at all, You should just ONLY care about feats and what they can do.

LIke, for example, the Marvel multiverse, in which one universe has Storm as Sorceror Supreme. Similarly, in the Marvel universe, being a god-level power is a big deal and one which comes with a lot of specific powers, and being an actual god or goddess, which is explicitly stated in Storm's case, is even more specific a powerset. And even among gods, she's stated to be sufficiently powerful to kill another god, and is demonstrated on page to have done so. With that god she killed having demonstrated power feats of his own that easily outclass the strongest feats shown of any spirit in Avatar.

I just need to know if storm can alter her powers or have spiritual abilities that can face off against the spirit world and that’s it. And everything you said in the 2nd paragraph is meaningless because I’m not talking about “god level power”, I’m talking about just having the title of “god/goddess” doesn’t mean anything as it’s just a title and nothing more. It’s just a word, I don’t care about words, I just care about the feats in which these characters can do and that’s it. And no simply being called a god doesn’t give you baggage on what that cares because storm is a “goddess” in the perspective of the earth but she’s nowhere galactus, thanos, the presence, the eternals level at all and they are classified as different “gods” all together. I feel like this fight and Goku Black vs Reverse Flash are the modern examples of why stomp fights can still be enjoyable despite having an obvious winner Even other stomp fights like Goro vs Machamp, Miles vs Static, Ultron vs Sigma, Dragonzord vs Mechagodzilla, etc fall into this category too. I just hope people, despite the huge gap in power, speed, durability, and all that jazz, can just enjoy the concept of certain matchups and the animation (when it's good) without always going into "why was this matchup a thing, ___ stood no chance." I find it more fun to just look at it for what it is, a fun idea for fights that can be good if done well. You can still have your doubts on certain stats given to some characters but don't always let the actual vs debating aspect take away from enjoying the fight and the analysis (unless you have some genuine criticism like a joke not landing well, the fight not looking extremely polished, or a big oversight / miscalculation present in the analysis then that's understandable)

@@Igna-hp8xx I was in Middle-School when Airbender aired, but I never gave it much though or ever watch it. I had just finished my Bionicle phase from Elementary school and I saw Airbender as a poor man's Bionicle, or a cheaper version that had none of the drama or stakes of Bionicle. I kept thinking "People who wield only fire, are no match for someone who can wield all 4. By all accounts, Aang should have won in five episodes." Also during my Bionicle phase, (which helped mold me into the adult I am today) I modeled myself after the Toa, and thus told myself that there would be plenty of time for fun once my duty and destiny are accomplished. It taught me the value of hard work and staying focused. And I've carried that into adulthood, and I thank Lego for all that. It was only years later when I was in High School and College when I learned that my Bionicle phase was just one step into a larger world. I learned that there is a reason why we still write Heroe's Journey stories today, and it's not that their fun adventures. Their still written today because they are metaphors for growing up and the challenges we face everyday in our lives. This gave me a new appreciation for fantasy and science fiction I never had before, and still have to this day, and I took those lessons into Skyrim with me. It was also during High School that my father enrolled me in an Ikito class, much to my frustation as I was a huge fan of action films back then, and thought Ikito was weak. For those who don't know, Ikito is a Japanese martial art that is 100% defense focused. It's about defending yourself from attackers without harming your attacker. Despite this, I kept taking these classes, but though I never went past white, and had to quit because of my beginning searches for college, I learned something different in that dojo. Martial arts is not cool stunts, it's about discipline, hard work, and focus. Those were other lessons that have served me well in life. Years later, I'm working my first job in the GAP store in the Mall of America, and it's been month's since the airing of the Nostalgia Critic review of "The Last Airbender", and I'm hurt. Because everything that's happened, I still adore the horror movies of M.Night Shymalan, and decide to finally take a look at the show, and ponder why so many people like it. When I put it on, I expected and wanted to enjoy it. Instead I found not one of the worst cartoons ever made. I found THE worst cartoon ever made.
@@Igna-hp8xx Plus, he is unwilling to make the sacrifices and difficult choices that come with being a hero. Everyone told me I’d love Aang when I saw “The Storm”, instead, I hated him. Because he ditches his responsibility as the Avatar to waste time with fun and games, and all his people, and everyone who died in the war or on screen is dead because of him. What gives him the right to save the world, when he doomed it? You know who’d make a really bad firemen? An arsonist. He dodges responsibility again for his own selfish desires again and again throughout the show, just for fun and games. Why would anyone trust a clown like Aang to save the world? Imagine you’re very sick and only a very delicate operation can save your life. As you like on the operating table, the surgeon arrives… doing a tap dance and playing paddleball. Would I laugh at that? No, I would not. In fact I’d be terrified. This person is my only chance to save my life and he walks in like this is a talent show. I’d yell “Guards! Take him away! Find a different surgeon!” But the worst slap in the face to me involving Aang’s refusal to make hard choices was when he refused to give up his feelings for Katara and open his final chakra. Instead, he refuses and once again the world pays for his stupidity. And he has to rely on a deus ex machine to get his chakra open and get the girl. What message does this give? It says you don’t need to make difficult choices or sacrifices, you take take a short cut and never learn anything. And this leads to a problem I have with not just Aang, but all the characters. Aang never changes, he never learns anything, never grows up. Instead he remains the same stupid kid he was at the start. And him giving up his feelings for Katara would have been the chance for him to do so. Imagine this, in the final battle against Ozai, Aang realizes that as long as he holds onto his feelings for Katara, he will never win. So he gives up his feelings for her, opens his final chakra in the right way, saves the world, but now he and Katara can’t be with each other. BOOM! That is drama, that is character development, that is sacrifice, that is growing up. How do I know this could work? Because I’ve seen it before. In the fantasy book “The Last Unicorn”, the titular character is turned into a human to hide from an evil king’s pet demon. But this makes her vulnerable to human emotion, since Unicorns have a very different sense of morality than humans. As a result, she falls in love with a human prince, and the two have a shot at happiness with each other, but the cost is that the rest of the unicorn population will remain the king’s prisoners forever, which will cause great harm to the world as enchanted forests will no longer be protected, and are in danger of being destroyed. She gives up her happiness and humanity, turns back into a unicorn, saves her people from a fate worse than death, but now she and the prince can’t be with each other. Or in “The Inheritance Cycle”. In book 2 of this 4 part fantasy series, the main character falls in love with an Elven princess. But she can’t return the feelings. Because A. Elves don’t marry. And B. If she returned the feelings, the evil king the two are fighting will know that he or she is the others weakness and will use it to undo everything they’ve worked to achieve. She rejects him, and he learns to cope with it, and this develops him even more. Hell, in the final book, in order to unlock the final power he needs to defeat the king, the main character goes through something similar to Aang. He has to accept that when this is all over, life won’t go back to normal, too much has changed. He is not the young, naive, innocent human farm boy who left his village to seek revenge on his uncle’s killers back in book 1. He’s now a older, wiser, grown-up, half-elven dragon rider who’s about to decide the fate of the world. In those stories I’ve mentioned, both heroes made hard and difficult choices. They chose what was best for those they loved and not themselves. And one of them even came to terms with the fact that life will never go back to normal, because he’s a completely different person by the end of the series. But Aang chose what was best for him, and never changed at all. Is this something we want to teach kids? OK, enough of Aang. Time for the others.
@@Igna-hp8xx Initially I did like Zuko, until I realized he is a complete rip-off of Theon Greyjoy from “Game of Thrones”, which actually came first because the book the show is based on was released in 1999. Exiled Prince of a maritime kingdom? Check Jerkass father who wants world domination? Check Badass sister who has more of daddy's "love"? Check Lives with a spiritual father figure? Check Is willing to betray siritual father figure in order to get daddy's respect? Check Treachery turns around and bites them in the ass? Check Learns the hard way that daddy doesn't love him or anyone else? Check Soon regrets his actions? Check Moopy? Check I did kind of like Iroh, but Mako didn’t deserve to star in crap like this, especially given that this was his last job. And Ozai isn't really so much of a character, rather he is a some cliches poorly put together hoping to make a good villain. He's s social darwinist, abusive father, bad brother, tyrannical dictator, and he has a god complex, and that's about it. There's nothing complex or interesting about him. Other villains with those traits have shown to be complex and interesting, but not this waste of Mark Hamill's talent. Balon Greyjoy from Game of Thrones is in my opinion, Ozai written right. He also is a social darwinist, bad father, bad brother, and he also wants world domination. But unlike Ozai, he actually has a understandable motive. He believes in Paying the Iron Price, which despite being a cruel way of life, has provided his people with riches and wealth. But once the Iron Islands were forced to bend the knee, that way of life was taken away, and Balon now thinks the Islanders have grown soft a weak. He thinks that by bringing back the Iron Price, and conquoring Westeros, his people will grow stronger. It's an evil motive for sure, but it's much more understandable than just "I'm evil”. Another problem with Ozai is how they presented him. I think they tried to paint him as a generic doomsday villain. Now sometimes a generic doomsday villain can work, take for example Amon, from StarCraft. Amon is a pretty flat and boring character, but that's not why he's a good villain. Amon is portrayed more as a unseen force or presence. This is justifiable as Amon is neither human, Zerg, Protoss, or even a mortal. Amon is lovecraftian alien god. Sauron is also a good example of this, as he is a fallen Miar, and thus is immortal and more powerful than any mortal or elf. But Ozai is a human, and humans are complex beings, even the worst of them. Azula was not very interesting, and her mental instability was little more then a bad plot twist that I never saw any indication of. And the scene where her friends quit because they were scared of her was such a huge ass-pull I wanted to punch the screen. When we meet them, they already act like the closest friends, and now it;’s revealed that the whole time they were scared of her? BS. The Fire Nation is also the worst evil faction I’ve ever seen. They’ve conquered much of the world, yet can’t defeat pre puberty kids. They also are more interested in exercising power than killing, and this sends a dangerous message to children, that invaders will act like the fire nation and be little more than schoolyard bullies instead of the Nazi’s they probably are. We must show kids then villains don’t play around and will kill you if they get the chance. As for Korra, I never have seen it and I don't give a rats ass about it. As far as I'm concerned, Storm killed Aang and all those worthless past heroes and that worthless reincarnation of his, then destroyed that worthless and annoying world. And I hope the franchises worthless and annoying fans hurt from this. Because the show hurt me. And now I've finally gotten my justice.
I really loved the ending where Korra redirected Storm’s lightning back at her only for Storm to redirect it back to Korra. There were so many good back and forths here that there were actually times where I thought Korra could win
What happened is that Storm short circuited Korra on the mind. It was all over from there on because not only did Korra temporarily lost access to the Avatar state, she placed Korra in a Trance and influence Korra to use a technique that she should not have used on Storm, and Storm gladfully returned it with TWICE the voltage.
The biggest lies Wiz and Boomstick tell us BS like "This battle wasn't so cut and dry." Seriously? Out of 99 battles, Korra may take 2. Maybe. And you wanna pretend this wasn't a stomp? Why? Just admit that a character was completely outclassed.
Storm has been around for over 45 years, she's had more writers writing stories on her than Korra, that means more crazy back stories and powers. Whenever I see a video like this with a very old comic book character or a long running manga character, I generally assume the fight is tipped in their favour.
I guess is too much to ask, but in order to avoid those one sided matches and even the odds, they should try with just one version of the character and not their complete stories, like in street fighter 4 where you choose a character and the version you wanted to play... I know is too much but its just a thought
I love the part where Storm fell into the Fog of Lost Souls, where we see every Character that lost their fights in Death Battle! I guess this is where the losers go?
Honestly, despite this having one of the most obvious winners in any Deathbattle, I genuinely enjoyed the fight and death way more then I did with Shao Kahn vs Akuma; and despite it being a one sided fight, it was still a lot more entertaining then I expected.
I love that this implies that the cabbage merchant literally fled to another dimension just to make sure his cabbages don’t get destroyed.
Or that was his spirit. Either way it's hilarious because that poor bastard can't catch a break in life or death.

The most brutal part is that Korra was in avatar state when she died. That means that storm killed Raava as well ending the cycle of avatars

@@Viking_Luchador In your defense, DB sucks at doing their match ups. They just "make up math" to give the audience an "understanding" of how powerful these characters are. They're making up numbers for parody like feats for characters. I only got into JJBA (Jojo) because of the Dio fight, but when my buddy told me that Alucard can literally tear the space time continuum on will power alone, I knew the fight was lopsided and favored towards Dio because Dio is Dio.
One fight that they did amazingly well on, which was pretty much only because it was lopsided and one sided, was Omniman vs Homelander. And the only reason it was properly done was because the math in their feats were easy to calculate, and even some of the information was literally pulled from the comics, meaning less BS could be pulled.
Another fight done poorly was All Might vs Might Guy, which was done just because of the "Might" in their name and their personalities. All Might punched a hole through Might Guy's chest and created a vacuum in the process, which should have sent his organs, skeleton, and pretty much his entire body that wasn't ripped apart out the backside, but somehow, despite immense bloodloss in a gaping wound, he used the 8th gate, which requires him to have blood in his body, which should have been evaporated by the wind pressure alone, or just have been gone by the hole in his body that was the size of a watermelon. Not to mention, All Might's Pro Career as a Hero was the same amount of time that Guy was alive for, 32 years I believe. And Might guy literally only started at like 5, so All Might would have an additional 5 years over him.

Also, The connections between All Might and Might Guy are that they are fist-fighting anime heroes, have the word might in their names, and are mentors to an underdog who started out powerless by their canon's definition (Izuku Midoriya and Rock Lee, respectively). Both have suffered crippling injuries from major villains, causing them to retire (with All Might losing half of his digestive and respiratory system to All For One and Might Guy losing the use of his right leg after his fight with Madara Uchiha), and both use powers that can cause harm to their user's body (One For All and the Eight Gates Release Formation technique, respectively). Both were also born without the ability to use the powers of their respective universes (All Might was born Quirkless and Guy couldn't use any Elemental Releases), and both of them usually have a smile on their faces. Both of them used to have a mentor/parental figure of their own early in their lives, who later died after passing their power and legacy onto them (Nana Shimura and Might Duy, respectively).

The fact that Storm can cast elements with just a thought is a massive gap in casting time vs Korra's mandatory martial arts poses and breathing techniques to bend elements.

Even without being intimately familiar with Storm's capacities, this fight appeared pretty one-sided. Without going into the scale differences (which were rather noticeable even to a casual outsider), Storm's ability to manipulate elements with a thought on both a grand scale and precise accuracy already would put her at a big advantage even if Korra and Storm were close in scale for power level. The main two advantages Korra would have are her hand-to-hand capacity (seeing as her bending is somewhat dependent on that, I'd assume she could at least go even there), and her earth, metal, and fire bending. Those additional types of bending don't end up making a huge impact, since they either get countered by Storm's tendency to stay up in the air (making earth/metal bending unreliable for targeted attacks), or neutralized by the general torrential downpour that Storm tends to bring with her (fire doesn't tend to be as effective in a hurricane).
Or just the Marvel grip on physics 1/2 their super heroes can dodge light beams (they move as fast or faster than light in an atmosphere where each air molecule would be hitting them with an infinite amount of momentum), they therefore beat pretty much every else in fiction
Unless the writers don’t want them to in which case storm can get cut up by an exploding petrol tank.

Storm is literally one with nature. She can sense any movement in the atmosphere even on the other side of the planet. She is immune to the effects of weather her body is so in tune. Her very nerves are connected with the wind, clouds and vapor.
There is literally nothing that an Avatar has shown that is more impressive than that, in terms of being one with the elements. I'd love to see arguments otherwise that somehow tops that.

Thing is about Storm's claustrophobia, is how she will go berserk in order to escape.
Most of the power feats mentioned in this episode, were at times when she was focused and keeping a leash on her powers. In other words, Storm is almost always holding back from using her full power.
If memory serves, that planet sized storm they mentioned was actually caused by her panicking unconsciously while trapped as a statue by Dr Doom.
I think at least. I know she almost wiped out Europe that time, but I don't remember the exact details.

Found an error at 19:39. It says Storm's power is over 500 exatons of TNT, and states that's 250 more powerful than Korra. But Korra's power is in gigatons, which would make Storm over 250 BILLION times more powerful.
This has happened alot, including with genos and War machine and Multiple others like Booster gold and Cable, But Except Kakashi vs obi wan and Ben vs Green lanteren, they-re battles have always ended with better opponents

I’m probably in the minority, but I’m one of those weird people who likes this matchup and episode. Storm is really cool, and it’s nice to see her get an episode.
Agreed, Storm is probably my favorite X-Men (either changing between her or Glob depending on what day you ask me)
And though she's far from my favorite character, it's pretty cool to see more X-Men representation continued with Phoenix (who at the very least has some very interesting history to pull from)

Storm lack any kind of super human toughness, thus she is fully vulnerable to regular attacks and both earth and firebending, she also has full immunity from all forms of weather, so all forms of water, air, ice and boltbending are actually useless aginst her.

@@samuelsoliday4381 Yeah, it's about watching fun animations of fictional characters beating each other up, but instead of just saying "Nuh-uh! I like (fill in the blank more) so they'd win!" they actually back things up with numbers. In this case, as they point out in the post-match wrap-up: Storm had 2 instant "I Win" buttons that should could bust out at any time (rip the air from Korra's lungs or fry her brain with internal electricity). So yeah, Storm had this one in the bag from the git-go. Still it was a fun animation. :D

@rayzerot You... do realize that that was necessary for the plot of Avatar: The Last Airbender, right? And it's not like Aang was a prodigy with all of the elements, either. The first time he handled fire, Aang wasn't paying attention to his surroundings and accidentally burned Katara's hands by trying to imitate a fire juggler. Second time, his fire was weak due to his personal conflicts with having injured Katara. Aang also struggled with Earth bending due to the more rigid and direct philosophy behind it as opposed to the creative freedom based philosophy of airbending (it also didn't help that Toph was being too brazen in her approach to teaching Aang). And it was revealed during the final episode of the series that Aang hadn't fully mastered Earth and Fire when he fought Ozai. So no. Contrary to this claim, Aang was no Mary Sue.

Lightning is a rare fire bending skill in Korra’s world so Storm actually has control of 3 of the 4 elements The avatar does.

Metal bending is nothing to Storm, she has dealt with both magneto and Polaris (both being able to destroy sentinels and manipulate large amounts of metal) Korra can't redirect lightning either. Even if Korra could redirect lightning it wouldn't of mattered since Storm can dodge light, also no lightning bender was capable of redirecting multiple lightning strikes.

Based on their conversations, I think they’ve known each other since middle school. Though I’m not sure how much they interacted until they started hosting Death Battle together (and that the big first impression was Boomstick forgetting to put on pants on that first day)

Jokes aside, despite the battle being a stomp, this was a pretty enjoyable episode! The silhouettes of past Death Battle losers in the spirit world was a really nice touch!
Loved that touch, though it hurt to see Sonic there. I wouldn’t say it’s a full stomp, though. The only genuine advantage storm had was that her powers were physical instead of spiritual, so energy bending was neglected. Cora’s light spirit form, for example, could theoretically meet the physical scale of Storm’s power, but there’s still the range and pinpoint accuracy of Ororo’s abilities. It was essentially someone using CQC against a sniper.

Let's be realistic, Storm didn't terraform Mars on her own, even though theoretically she could, but she didn't do it on-page. She only created the Atmosphere for Arrakko and "married the sea and the sky", which speaks plenty on its own. However, she didn't terraform herself on-page. And she also didn't name the planet... I believe Magneto did. Or was it the Professor? Not sure...

I actually think this match-up makes perfect sense. This season has been all about celebrating Death Battle’s 10 year history, and with this episode they’re just trying to outdo the iconic Thor vs Raiden in the category of “Most One-Sided Match-Up Featuring a Lightning-Wielding Marvel Character”

The crazier part here is that the writers were kind of justified. What would classify as the weather when it comes to her powers when it comes to a different planet? There's a planet where there's molten glass raining on it constantly; if she were to go there and use her abilities, she'd just suddenly have the power to manipulate glass.

Storm can also: Cause earth quakes, cause lava spouts, control magnetism, and control sub-atomic particles on mass. The subatomic particle control likely being her actual power. Her power to control atmosphere scales of matter with nano-scale levels of precision and having total awareness of it all is how she makes her 'weather control powers'. The fact it's weather was likely sub-conscious, as she grows, her limitation drop away. Crazy that she isn't even near the power ceiling of the Marvel Universe.

I love how in comics, the characters are so overpowered, that it ends up creating a domino effect. As they have characters capable of manipulating reality, cosmic forces, traveling at the speed of light and etc, and these characters end up interacting in a shared universe, the screenwriters are forced to find a way to level up the capabilities of the other characters.
Logically and coherently speaking, Storm shouldn't have any physical power, but since you have people like Thor, Hulk and many others in their world, all heroes automatically are physically powerful to some degree, so when they receive a powerful blow, they don't die and will not be inconsistent.
The same goes for reflexes, reaction time and etc, they are required to put the characters at that level, so when rolling a fight with an enemy that is millions of times faster than light against a person who only has the power to manipulating the weather, you can tell that even if she doesn't move at such speed, her reaction time mixed with her level of control over her power, makes her able to face such an opponent.
Deathstroke did just that against The Flash, because he is some kind of super soldier, he rationalized super fast and was able to predict where the Flash would be and them was able to hit him, even though the guy move faster than light.
The funny thing is that these super capabilities are only used for script convenience, because they soon forget that the character can do this and he ends up being defeated or having difficulty in a fight later, which by what he demonstrated in other stories, it should not happen.
Seeing characters with inconsistent power is kinda frustrating but ironic. How would you implement it?

Not just that, but a lot of their physical feats would literally build up so much energy that simply doing them would destroy the city/continent/planet/solar system they were currently on or in.
@@cibervader I think its time we make the arena (aka the earth and solar system) stronger, it would be better to make them tied to add a variable which makes each molecule locked in place with each other and become indestructible by non conventional means, aka anything like superpowers, magic and absurd technology that doesn't abide with what we look at as normal in our world would fail to even move a single water molecule.
Also, have these characters begin to lose mass when they accelerate until they become basically massless when they approach light speed and disappear and get sent to somewhere like TOBA's domain in marvel or stuff when they exceed it, so they al get nerfed.
If anyone wants to know exactly how over powered storm is I recommend reading her wiki, she can turn invisible, breathe underwater, etc. Or if you don't have time to read check out fact fiend's video on storm

There are atleast two anime characters that are strong enough to beat most Marvel and DC characters.
Naofumi from Shield Hero and Simon from Gurren Lagan. Simon being the stronger of the two. I doubt we will see Naofumi fight until the series catches up with the books but Im expecting Simon might be in the season finale.

I was reading a manga where the main character's power is instant death at least you thought it was at first. You later find out that his power is essentially being the literal "Omega" of all things. Nothing in this world, the next, or the multiverse has any chance against his power. A being that could be placed above Marvel's celestials with ease was instakilled by him for trying to devour the multiverse the boy was in from outside of it. The power also activates automatically towards anything that shows hostility or is a threat to him.

As far as lightning redirection, they always use characters at their peak. So this would be Korra with access to all prior avatar abilities through the avatar state. Even so it's not nearly enough to match Storm. Still, it's nice to see a fully powered Korra going all out.

I think deathbattle learned to stop using the "ultimate form" techniques so early. Before it just meant they lost for sure. This time I honestly couldnt tell.
Gonna disagree, having korra drop storm in the spirit world served as a setup for the "ultimate form" indicating storm will win.
If I recall, Dracula transformed first and still won.

Meanwhile Ganondorf had to tap in the Triforce of Power just to free himself from Dracula's grasp, and aside from transforming into Ganon that's pretty much his ultimate technique.

My main issue with DB is always the fact that you basically can only put Marvel characters against DC or Dragon Ball to get a decently fair fight. Grab a random Marvel Hero, throw them against Korra, they win. With how old some hero's are, they have years of stories with ridiculous feats lol. Animation is always a blessing though

Honestly despite their speed and power stats being one sided for storm, this was still an interesting matchup. Both had incredible abilities to bend the elements and that alone actually made this fight pretty tricky to some extent. Korra definitely had better training as far as i knew
(correct me if am wrong) and had a somewhat bigger arsenal to throw at Storm, not to mention with both being able to bend the elements and fly, it would seem like a stalemate, where either of them could finish it with a lethal hit. Both could in theory at least counter, stop and maybe redirect their attacks at each other especially if korra is at her avatar state. But that is also where we draw the line. Over all while they seemingly had the same abilities but storm were way more powerful to boot. Not mention Storm has shown superior control over her abilities. While Storm technically had a more dangerous weakness to explore, Korra was just nowhere near strong enough to capitalize on it. Korra`s arsenal didn't really give that much of a difference either considering energi and spirit bending was completely useless against storm and Fire was an element that could be stopped pretty easily with just proper wind and water control which Storm was good at. The only useful element that Storm couldn`t stop was metal, but unless Korra became even better at manipulating metals around than magneto then it wouldn't be much of a problem either i think. And of course since Storm and the x-men has battled Magneto multiple times, she probably has experience enough to know how to counter it to some extent. The Avatar state gives incredible powers to the wielder but it unfortunately lacks in the power department even if we played ignorant and said it gave 100 times power boost and control and multiplying that with kyoshis continent splitting feat it would still fall short in the long run.
So while korra seemingly had better training from birth and a bigger arsenal to hold on to. Storm was just too powerful, much faster and more skilled as an elemental user.
Anybody that thought Korra even remotely stood a chance against one of the most powerful mutants in all of Marvel is just high lmao They even downplayed Storm's power and left alot of her absurd feats out

A better match up would’ve been Crystal from the Inhumans since her power set is closer to that of an Avatar. But I feel like Korra would still lose due to Crystal’s power flexibility and Inhuman stats.
Korra is just bigger, she is much more important to world harmony and her access to avatar state give her upper hand in experience, speed and fire power. Maybe Storm can change entire world weather... Korra can open the spirit portal, turn into Kaiju and trap spirit of darkness and chaos into tree. The death of avatar can lead to a hundres years of chaos, death of Storm can resulte in grief of world mutants population that's all
@@ra01szt storm is wayyyy more proficient in the matters of magic and spirits than korra ever was. Korra is literally the worst when it comes to spirits, second only to Avatar yangchen. She lived in the era of rapid industrialization that severed the connection between humans and spirits.
As for importance... hardly. Avatar is important (which is also, debatable),korra not so much. If korra dies, another Avatar is gonna show up at other place, that's it.

Storm could literally solo the entire Avatar world/planet by herself with low difficulty.
like she could kill the avatar, the STRONGEST fighter in the avatar verse in their strongest state, with minimal effort and while ALSO could kill billions by destroying and wiping out the entire surface area of the avatar planet with casual effort. This fight was so unfair it’s not even funny, bruh.
Not sure if she can take on the spirit world at all since there’s some intangible spiritual beings there that I don’t think storm can even touch at all but everything else in the avatar world, she could wipe out easily including the entire planet with everyone in it in one go so this fight was BEYOND unfair for korra to be involved and more of an excuse just to show how strong storm is than being an even match between fighters.

On the "not sure if she can take on the spirit world" part, Storm has magical powers and is elevated to being a literal goddess in the comics on several occasons. She's opened up a portal between realities just using her mutant powers not the goddess-level ability she's capable of.
@@a-blivvy-yus having magical powers doesn’t mean that automatically qualifies as taking out an entire realm of intangible spiritual beings by herself. That’s not how that works at all.
And being a “goddess” is just some title which doesn’t mean anything. Anime villains call themselves gods or goddesses all the time and lose to some shonen main character. Same thing with Kratos where he killed his “gods” easily.
A title alone isn’t impressive at all, You should just ONLY care about feats and what they can do.
@@OttoWatt9000 Having magical powers doesn't automatically convey ability to interact with spirits, unless you have such powers in a setting where those magical powers explicitly come with awareness and ability to interact with spirits. LIke, for example, the Marvel multiverse, in which one universe has Storm as Sorceror Supreme.
Similarly, in the Marvel universe, being a god-level power is a big deal and one which comes with a lot of specific powers, and being an actual god or goddess, which is explicitly stated in Storm's case, is even more specific a powerset. And even among gods, she's stated to be sufficiently powerful to kill another god, and is demonstrated on page to have done so. With that god she killed having demonstrated power feats of his own that easily outclass the strongest feats shown of any spirit in Avatar.

And everything you said in the 2nd paragraph is meaningless because I’m not talking about “god level power”, I’m talking about just having the title of “god/goddess” doesn’t mean anything as it’s just a title and nothing more. It’s just a word, I don’t care about words, I just care about the feats in which these characters can do and that’s it.
And no simply being called a god doesn’t give you baggage on what that cares because storm is a “goddess” in the perspective of the earth but she’s nowhere galactus, thanos, the presence, the eternals level at all and they are classified as different “gods” all together. Especially the presence whose basically omnipotent.
Every piece of fiction has certain baggage on what a god can do and can’t do but it’s clear for storm’s case she not on their level on what they classify as “god”.
And besides I don’t doubt that she can’t power out the avatar spirit world, I’m saying she probably can’t touch them since their intangible and storm doesn’t have any spiritual abilities as far as I can tell.

Even other stomp fights like Goro vs Machamp, Miles vs Static, Ultron vs Sigma, Dragonzord vs Mechagodzilla, etc fall into this category too. I just hope people, despite the huge gap in power, speed, durability, and all that jazz, can just enjoy the concept of certain matchups and the animation (when it's good) without always going into "why was this matchup a thing, ___ stood no chance." I find it more fun to just look at it for what it is, a fun idea for fights that can be good if done well. You can still have your doubts on certain stats given to some characters but don't always let the actual vs debating aspect take away from enjoying the fight and the analysis (unless you have some genuine criticism like a joke not landing well, the fight not looking extremely polished, or a big oversight / miscalculation present in the analysis then that's understandable)

@@Igna-hp8xx I was in Middle-School when Airbender aired, but I never gave it much though or ever watch it. I had just finished my Bionicle phase from Elementary school and I saw Airbender as a poor man's Bionicle, or a cheaper version that had none of the drama or stakes of Bionicle. I kept thinking "People who wield only fire, are no match for someone who can wield all 4. By all accounts, Aang should have won in five episodes." Also during my Bionicle phase, (which helped mold me into the adult I am today) I modeled myself after the Toa, and thus told myself that there would be plenty of time for fun once my duty and destiny are accomplished. It taught me the value of hard work and staying focused. And I've carried that into adulthood, and I thank Lego for all that.
It was only years later when I was in High School and College when I learned that my Bionicle phase was just one step into a larger world. I learned that there is a reason why we still write Heroe's Journey stories today, and it's not that their fun adventures. Their still written today because they are metaphors for growing up and the challenges we face everyday in our lives. This gave me a new appreciation for fantasy and science fiction I never had before, and still have to this day, and I took those lessons into Skyrim with me.
It was also during High School that my father enrolled me in an Ikito class, much to my frustation as I was a huge fan of action films back then, and thought Ikito was weak. For those who don't know, Ikito is a Japanese martial art that is 100% defense focused. It's about defending yourself from attackers without harming your attacker. Despite this, I kept taking these classes, but though I never went past white, and had to quit because of my beginning searches for college, I learned something different in that dojo. Martial arts is not cool stunts, it's about discipline, hard work, and focus. Those were other lessons that have served me well in life. Years later, I'm working my first job in the GAP store in the Mall of America, and it's been month's since the airing of the Nostalgia Critic review of "The Last Airbender", and I'm hurt. Because everything that's happened, I still adore the horror movies of M.Night Shymalan, and decide to finally take a look at the show, and ponder why so many people like it. When I put it on, I expected and wanted to enjoy it. Instead I found not one of the worst cartoons ever made. I found THE worst cartoon ever made.

Because he ditches his responsibility as the Avatar to waste time with fun and games, and all his people, and everyone who died in the war or on screen is dead because of him. What gives him the right to save the world, when he doomed it? You know who’d make a really bad firemen? An arsonist. He dodges responsibility again for his own selfish desires again and again throughout the show, just for fun and games. Why would anyone trust a clown like Aang to save the world? Imagine you’re very sick and only a very delicate operation can save your life. As you like on the operating table, the surgeon arrives… doing a tap dance and playing paddleball. Would I laugh at that? No, I would not. In fact I’d be terrified. This person is my only chance to save my life and he walks in like this is a talent show. I’d yell “Guards! Take him away! Find a different surgeon!” But the worst slap in the face to me involving Aang’s refusal to make hard choices was when he refused to give up his feelings for Katara and open his final chakra. Instead, he refuses and once again the world pays for his stupidity. And he has to rely on a deus ex machine to get his chakra open and get the girl. What message does this give? It says you don’t need to make difficult choices or sacrifices, you take take a short cut and never learn anything. And this leads to a problem I have with not just Aang, but all the characters. Aang never changes, he never learns anything, never grows up. Instead he remains the same stupid kid he was at the start. And him giving up his feelings for Katara would have been the chance for him to do so. Imagine this, in the final battle against Ozai, Aang realizes that as long as he holds onto his feelings for Katara, he will never win. So he gives up his feelings for her, opens his final chakra in the right way, saves the world, but now he and Katara can’t be with each other. BOOM! That is drama, that is character development, that is sacrifice, that is growing up.
How do I know this could work? Because I’ve seen it before. In the fantasy book “The Last Unicorn”, the titular character is turned into a human to hide from an evil king’s pet demon. But this makes her vulnerable to human emotion, since Unicorns have a very different sense of morality than humans. As a result, she falls in love with a human prince, and the two have a shot at happiness with each other, but the cost is that the rest of the unicorn population will remain the king’s prisoners forever, which will cause great harm to the world as enchanted forests will no longer be protected, and are in danger of being destroyed. She gives up her happiness and humanity, turns back into a unicorn, saves her people from a fate worse than death, but now she and the prince can’t be with each other.
Or in “The Inheritance Cycle”. In book 2 of this 4 part fantasy series, the main character falls in love with an Elven princess. But she can’t return the feelings. Because A. Elves don’t marry. And B. If she returned the feelings, the evil king the two are fighting will know that he or she is the others weakness and will use it to undo everything they’ve worked to achieve. She rejects him, and he learns to cope with it, and this develops him even more. Hell, in the final book, in order to unlock the final power he needs to defeat the king, the main character goes through something similar to Aang. He has to accept that when this is all over, life won’t go back to normal, too much has changed. He is not the young, naive, innocent human farm boy who left his village to seek revenge on his uncle’s killers back in book 1. He’s now a older, wiser, grown-up, half-elven dragon rider who’s about to decide the fate of the world.
In those stories I’ve mentioned, both heroes made hard and difficult choices. They chose what was best for those they loved and not themselves. And one of them even came to terms with the fact that life will never go back to normal, because he’s a completely different person by the end of the series. But Aang chose what was best for him, and never changed at all. Is this something we want to teach kids?

I did kind of like Iroh, but Mako didn’t deserve to star in crap like this, especially given that this was his last job. And Ozai isn't really so much of a character, rather he is a some cliches poorly put together hoping to make a good villain. He's s social darwinist, abusive father, bad brother, tyrannical dictator, and he has a god complex, and that's about it. There's nothing complex or interesting about him. Other villains with those traits have shown to be complex and interesting, but not this waste of Mark Hamill's talent.
Balon Greyjoy from Game of Thrones is in my opinion, Ozai written right. He also is a social darwinist, bad father, bad brother, and he also wants world domination. But unlike Ozai, he actually has a understandable motive. He believes in Paying the Iron Price, which despite being a cruel way of life, has provided his people with riches and wealth. But once the Iron Islands were forced to bend the knee, that way of life was taken away, and Balon now thinks the Islanders have grown soft a weak. He thinks that by bringing back the Iron Price, and conquoring Westeros, his people will grow stronger. It's an evil motive for sure, but it's much more understandable than just "I'm evil”.
Another problem with Ozai is how they presented him. I think they tried to paint him as a generic doomsday villain. Now sometimes a generic doomsday villain can work, take for example Amon, from StarCraft. Amon is a pretty flat and boring character, but that's not why he's a good villain. Amon is portrayed more as a unseen force or presence. This is justifiable as Amon is neither human, Zerg, Protoss, or even a mortal. Amon is lovecraftian alien god. Sauron is also a good example of this, as he is a fallen Miar, and thus is immortal and more powerful than any mortal or elf. But Ozai is a human, and humans are complex beings, even the worst of them.
Azula was not very interesting, and her mental instability was little more then a bad plot twist that I never saw any indication of. And the scene where her friends quit because they were scared of her was such a huge ass-pull I wanted to punch the screen. When we meet them, they already act like the closest friends, and now it;’s revealed that the whole time they were scared of her? BS.
The Fire Nation is also the worst evil faction I’ve ever seen. They’ve conquered much of the world, yet can’t defeat pre puberty kids. They also are more interested in exercising power than killing, and this sends a dangerous message to children, that invaders will act like the fire nation and be little more than schoolyard bullies instead of the Nazi’s they probably are. We must show kids then villains don’t play around and will kill you if they get the chance.
As for Korra, I never have seen it and I don't give a rats ass about it. As far as I'm concerned, Storm killed Aang and all those worthless past heroes and that worthless reincarnation of his, then destroyed that worthless and annoying world. And I hope the franchises worthless and annoying fans hurt from this. Because the show hurt me. And now I've finally gotten my justice.

I really loved the ending where Korra redirected Storm’s lightning back at her only for Storm to redirect it back to Korra. There were so many good back and forths here that there were actually times where I thought Korra could win
What happened is that Storm short circuited Korra on the mind. It was all over from there on because not only did Korra temporarily lost access to the Avatar state, she placed Korra in a Trance and influence Korra to use a technique that she should not have used on Storm, and Storm gladfully returned it with TWICE the voltage.
The biggest lies Wiz and Boomstick tell us BS like "This battle wasn't so cut and dry."

Storm has been around for over 45 years, she's had more writers writing stories on her than Korra, that means more crazy back stories and powers.

I guess is too much to ask, but in order to avoid those one sided matches and even the odds, they should try with just one version of the character and not their complete stories, like in street fighter 4 where you choose a character and the version you wanted to play... I know is too much but its just a thought

Honestly, despite this having one of the most obvious winners in any Deathbattle, I genuinely enjoyed the fight and death way more then I did with Shao Kahn vs Akuma; and despite it being a one sided fight, it was still a lot more entertaining then I expected.
