Hello Andy, you mentioned on your vlog that you stay in the biggest cassette sprocket. Just a thought, I think there is an option off having a single speed set-up which would certainly reduce weight and simplify and gain alitte cockpit space. Regards Iain
Hi Iain, I mostly stay in the biggest gear yeah but I do occasionally drop down, like when I was on the long stretch in that video I may knock it down a couple to increase speed. It’s nice to have them there, what you could do is separate the cogs and have say 3 and then swap the derailleur for a tensioner and just manually move the chain if you were doing flatter downhill trails for example, you’d save space and a point of failure (derailleur banging on the floor) It is nice at the moment though knowing that if the battery runs out you can still just pedal 😯
Looks fun you must know that route! I would be too busy expecting a hole to drop my front wheel into and ping me over the handlebars. I will stick to roads ! nice tunes for this run btw

I’ve seen some of your videos I cannot remember do you have one that will take over from peddling I suffer from severe asthma and cannot ride for very long something like twist and go
Yeah it's got a thumb throttle, no need to pedal, best to pedal on take off so as not to stress the motor and battery then just use the throttle. Most people will pedal With the throttle so as to give more range and helps with balance also it looks legal.
Would be nice to see a new generation frame that can cope with a large triangle battery and compact full syspension but not as heavy as the box frames.
Kirbs, I highly doubt you’ve never heard of Maxxis and they’re tyres? Been using them since I was a kid downhill riding on a mongoose bmx frame (fucking painful by the way, 0 suspension besides whatever give you leave in the tyres) have a look at some of the “fat daddy” style treads, I have one set that I’ve had for over 6 years with some serious riding on them with over 50% tread on the rear after using the old shoe foot brake trick for 3 years (brake pads used to be more expensive than shoes in my city) still kind of are. Long story short, max is makes some seriously strong, grippy and long lasting tyres, especially in the 3” width range ;)
andy kirby not worried about legal issues, so once you get it going with the pedal you can just use the throttle to propel it just like a rear hub motor?
Can you do a budget build build guide for an off road 1000w for those who don't have thousands in the bank or having an electrical degree. There's so many products and there's no info for what kits work for what bike frames and I don't wana drop a large chunk of money into a project that may or may not work

Hey Andy, i Know this is an old Video. I was wondering about the controller you using, can you actually program the controller with a ratio to give you the ability to place a sensor on the crank drive gear and work out gear ratio 3.39:1 etc but finding out what the transmission ratio is. This might solve you problem with the sensorless mode issue. We used to do this kind of set up on High powered HRC heli (2-5KW) 12s 44v LIPO power.... on the ESC. we used to do a calibrate set up where you know how many field windings it had and you set the Phasing like that and then with the rotor blades off..... scream the motor up from idle to full throttle and it would then give a burst of high speed to tell you that the calibration was done. coupled with Soft start on or off. May work, not sure. Just an idea.
Hi Andy, what's the reference / dimensions of the 52V Shark battery you have here? I would like to buy a Vapour and fit a 52V battery but I have difficulties choosing the battery. Btw I don't get answers from cloudsto.
Hi Andy. I just checked out the bike on your website. Currently have a hard tail Kona scab. Looked at the frame with motor and battery. Hoping to use the parts from my kona. Will I need anything else other than a rear shock?? And how long is delivery normally? Thanks.
I have a bike and put a kit with a 1000W motor and a 48v and 17.5 Ah battery, and little for what I need. I need a battery life of at least 15 hours of battery. I'm going to buy a second battery, what do you suggest?
Good day Andy, quick question. The Shimano hydraulic e bike brake kit for sale on your site is for the frameset available on your site only or does it also fit standard full suspension MTBs?
Only thing stopping me do this is not have torque sensing pedal assist throttle only will make it not usable on the trails I ride want more power but also control
Would it be safe to go over 40 mph with this? Just need to stay with traffic flow safely aswell as go off-road some days…I know u said 50 is sketchy… I’m looking for a stable bike to go to work but needs to be able to atleast go 40 with no issues 😢
Like always nice video. But when explaining the difference about 72/52v it seems your words were not being understood like what does Larry mean? I guess you said you prefer 52v?
andy kirby Understandable, but that’s also how cars are measured as well. Good old “range anxiety”. Having now seen you’re selling the fully built Vapour, I’m sorely tempted.... I see you are selling it with different forks and suspension and no throttle. Is it easy to fit the throttle afterwards?
But then it is more like a motorbike and you will be stopped . Police don't mind these as long as you ride sensibly . UK law is an ass as it is . We don't want to make it worse
@@SKBKER You can purchase them road legal. Yes France has a 30,000 Euro fine for using them on roads so if we have to many people blasting past walkers or trying to outgun motorists at the lights its going to spoil it for everyone.
@@davidketley5359 I know but it means you need to get a licence, wear a full face helmet, put indicators, brake lights etc and pay tons of money to the Government . . Point is you can ride a normal Ebike (with a bit more power ) and the Police will turn a blind eye as long as you ride sensibly .
I have had quite a few befang motors of 350w and all have same problem in that the spindle inside doing the turning, are made from poor metal and shatter after a while due to heat. So unless they can put better oil insde to protect unit. Somis the m620 any better or does it use same spindle?
That's not why they break, at least on the bbshd's not sure about 350 watt models. I have a bbshd and i have worked out that the "spindle" breaks from knocking the motor on logs rocks etc. Me and my friend had same problem after he clipped a log. The more you bang the motor the more likely it is to fail. If you avoid this the bbshd is a fantastic motor and never had a problem since. I also have the m620 which avoids knocks by being built into the frame it is also a larger stronger motor core. If you BB is low then lifting it 20mm or so may help avoid motor strikes.
stop censoring me I have only ridden on flat roads, and no hitting anything, but still 4x befang motors have shattered main spindle, i took it to an engineer and he found the metal quality poor
@@martinlewis1015 Not sure if they use the same spindle as 350 watt model, probably not. I would say bbshd has a larger spindle. It's only happened to me once and it was definitely from hitting it. I do pretty hardcore mtb with it. Drops, jumps, steep hill climbs and it just keeps going. Never melted a nylon gear either. and the m620 is unstoppable. Iv'e heard laboring the motor up hills and starting from stand still in incorrect gear can cause problems. But Maybe ditch the 350 watts for 1000 watt bbshd!
I accidentally heard Rise at 1.25x speed because I forgot i had it on from another video. Actually pumping at that speed, although its good at original speed too.

What battery are you running? looking for a hardcase battery with 50a continuous BMS for my luna BBSHD
I want this bike 😁
Hey Andy. whats the specs on your rear shocks? Size?
Mint!! 👏
Diggin the tune too bud. Right on
can you review / do build with new rear bafang 1000W motor?
Hi Andy, what's the reference / dimensions of the 52V Shark battery you have here? I would like to buy a Vapour and fit a 52V battery but I have difficulties choosing the battery. Btw I don't get answers from cloudsto.
Put some of the new fox 38’s on it!
Maybe they’ll send me some 😅
I'm going to buy a second battery, what do you suggest?
whats the frame size, im tall and i really hate having bent knee at normal full pedal extention?
its an awesome bike im thinking of upgradeing myn i have sort of same frame transtion patrol ...are you tubless?
Good day Andy, quick question. The Shimano hydraulic e bike brake kit for sale on your site is for the frameset available on your site only or does it also fit standard full suspension MTBs?
Only thing stopping me do this is not have torque sensing pedal assist throttle only will make it not usable on the trails I ride want more power but also control
Have you do wheelie on throttle? I try I fall down all the time I trying to do fully wheelie
When will you try out the new cyc x1 pro? Apparently it is good for 6000w and looks so much better than the bbshd.
I'm Sub'd👍,
Loving your build's... you are also an accomplished musician👏
How much did it cost to complete that machine?
3400
How fast are you going?
Is that the 17 or 19inch frame you're riding there?
How much do sell them for i need one does about 35mph -40 coin there no were to buy one in st helens merseyside
I have BBSHD with Paseruner and CA 3 display on 52v can you share settings file for phaserunner I'll have trouble to set smooth start... 🤔
How many kg is it
Just built up the same bike but has the internal battery. It is about 30kg
People always me how far my bike will go.
I always reply it gives me 2hrs of flat out fun and I get worn out before the battery.
Yeah it’s a boring question to be asked because it depends on so many factors. It’s a bit like asking how far can you ride on a normal pushbike 😅
@@andykirby Or you could say, How long is a ball of string? Great videos keep it up
Great tune that Andy. I’ve a 60+Ah pack never fully charged and never ran out of power. :)
andy kirby Understandable, but that’s also how cars are measured as well. Good old “range anxiety”. Having now seen you’re selling the fully built Vapour, I’m sorely tempted.... I see you are selling it with different forks and suspension and no throttle. Is it easy to fit the throttle afterwards?
do you sell on Amazon japan?
got a link to the seat?
Have you thought about putting a back up camera on that? Hehe!
Just get one of these Sur-Ron is a monster ebike w/ 50 mile range & insane speed
Too heavy. Actually Sur-Ron are great but it’s a light motorcycle and I already built my own a while back. Mines road registered also.
@@andykirby Its heavy because its actually designed to take the power.
Have you got a link for the wheels/tyres mate?
Andy you didnt tell how much the vapour weights ways with the battery on
Haven’t weighed it with this battery on, probably about 25kg but remember it has about 4 horsepower!
If you BB is low then lifting it 20mm or so may help avoid motor strikes.
stop censoring me
I have only ridden on flat roads, and no hitting anything, but still 4x befang motors have shattered main spindle, i took it to an engineer and he found the metal quality poor
Andy wants to buy this frame. Tell me please, what size is it? 19 inches? This on video.
There’s a 17,19 and 21 inch frame.
@@andykirby this on youre video is 19 Andy?
What is the approx height range for 17 and 19 and 21 inch? Where is that info listed?
Have you thought about building a fat tire bike?
Is this bike still for sel ? :) I’m verry surprised by what you did
Are you still able to order from your online shop or are you closed due to coronavirus
Yep we are open and very busy.
PS I see you went stealth mode, what happened to the CA3?
This frame comes in XL
andy do you have any spare 72v packs kicking about i not to far from you
I accidentally heard Rise at 1.25x speed because I forgot i had it on from another video. Actually pumping at that speed, although its good at original speed too.
🤣 that's interesting!
@@andykirby haha thanks for the reply! Love your videos. Maybe do a 1.25 version of Rise? 🤷🏼♂️😂
Question 😅 What is the top speed?
So I have been debating for a while now buying one of the fully assembled vapours.. so my question is those bike come fully tuned and ready to go once u receive it???
No at the moment it’s part built only.
@@andykirby so just to clarify... assembling the bike itself is required but what about the electric side of it in ur vid u talk about tuning the motor, tuning the controller, tuning the display.. so the electronic aspect is mostly what I'm worried about
MackDaddyBolan the standard bike is preset, just plug and go😁, no tuning or anything it just works. what I’ve done here is modify basically everything for more power, i don’t sell this modified version yet, it’s not ready.
Hi Andy, great video as always! I have the money for one of your Vapour bike but I'm unsure if it will make it through customs, I've roughly worked out how much it will be in import duties but I cant find a commodity code for it on HMRC, I can only find one for an ebike with a 250 Watt motor, I don't want to order the Vapour and it be stuck in customs in the UK, I really want to order the complete bike but if I need to order it in kit form would that solve the problem, I tried emailing Cloudsto but it pinged back at me! Cheers Mate! Regards Leigh Lendon
Are you allowed to ride round farmers fields? is it legal?
