  • Hello everyone In the previous video, there was a general overview of the purchased goodies. Now let's start using them for their intended purpose.
    I will immediately make the mileage mark at which I started the installation - 127,000 km
    Drains.

    During rain or just when actively using the windshield cleaning system, some of the water begins to fall on the side windows. And that's not a good thing. To eliminate this problem, drains were invented. They prevent accumulated water from breaking through to the sides of the body and divert all moisture to the roof. Looking ahead a little, I had a chance to test them right away thanks to a sudden cloud. But that's a little later. In the meantime, we clean the surface of the glass, degrease it with a degreaser. I decided not to remove the stickers on the glass, I will try with them and see how it will hold. The drains turned out to be larger, so it is necessary to make a trim. The problem is easily solved with a stationery knife.
    Dampers.

    I will try to refine the sound of closing doors and prevent vertical vibrations in order to avoid unnecessary squeaks. The instructions are quite detailed, the installation is simple - lubricated and put on the damper as indicated in the manual.
    To understand what changed after installation, I recorded the sound of the doors closing. Back and front. Let's compare it. Are there any changes? It seemed to me that yes. Write in the comments whether the sound has changed. The installation instructions came to me - they are written in a simple, understandable and accessible language. It would always be like this!
    I applied the remaining lubricant to the door opening limiters of the car.

    To be honest, I was pleased! I specifically decided to test it on dusty windows after the rain. As you can see, such pollution significantly interferes with the view in the sun.
    There is also a plaque on the windshield from the inside, which also begins to glare in the sun.
    The test required very little water from the bottle. As you can see, the rag quickly and efficiently coped with the task. I didn't really try - I drove back and forth several times and was pleased with the result!
    Such an item will be an excellent cleaning assistant at home. Windows, mirrors, etc. - definitely useful. So you need to have a pair in the car, one for the windows and interior, the second for the body. And it makes sense to have a home one too.

    Now it's just a replacement. But with the update of the lubrication of the guide calipers from the kit. I remove the old one, apply the new one. Before installing the new pads, I measured their thickness - 16.6 cm
    They look beautiful, it's a pity that no one will see this, but very soon all the beauty will disappear from the operational effects. I decided not to change the plates, mine are in excellent condition. And I decided not to throw away the old pads - they can still be rolled up. Yes, that's how economical I am.
    The installation is completed, we pump the pedal. We check in motion. In principle, nothing unexpected - if we press the brake pedal, then we stop. That's how it should be.
    And how timely was the replacement of the pads! It started raining! But now you can check them and the drains. The brakes are working normally.
    And the side steles are now without excess water. The drains are coping!
    I'll add a few more shots of DRL lamps - at night. That's how they shine in the dark.
    After walking about 3000 km, I share the intermediate result. The lamps are shining as expected, the dampers on all the doors are without visible signs of wear, the drains are in place and busy with their business, as is the autopilot. The pads are not visible, but they are there and also work.
