Congratz. I would have to agree with Kustom Addictionz. My first brood of super reds I had pulled them out of the cave and put them in a breeder box. it was not instant, but they all did perish. Can't say if it was due to my pulling them or if it was the pairs first spawn. I have had three more since then and have had great success with just letting them grow and swim from the cave on their own. So, with the zebra, which I very much cherish and wish I had some of my own, I would let dad do his thing and let them grow and be free upon their own.
Congrats! I cant wait to get some in my room too! I believe the eggs get fanned which turns the eggs, that may have caused the casualties once they were no longer receiving flow. ( maybe you could try a fish egg tumbler if you wanted to try again in the future ) I believe that's why they like the flow near the entrance of cave as well. Anyways Great Job!!!
Currently feeding a mix of Hikari carnivore wafers, Ebo mussel granules, New Life Spectrum Thera+A, Plecoceramics wafers, an occasional Indian almond leave, and a few others
Water temperature is 83F to 84F and I believe the PH is 6.8 to 7. I use tap water run through one of those 3 stage filters and change 50% to 70% of the water weekly on an auto drip system
Coooool! Congratulations! I love that fact that your L046 chosen our caves among many others
Way to go my friend! This is huge! I’ll be waiting 😁
Thanks Joe! We'll have a full-blown zebra pleco farm in Massachusetts in no time!
Congratulations. Thanks for the information.
Thanks!!
