Job well done congratulations on your Pleco breeding and you’re right that mustache does not belong in the fish room..lol
Hahahahaha
I find when breeding Plecos the Dad’s typically do a good job raising the fry. Not always, but most of the time. It makes it easier for you also. Congrats 🎉
Thank you!
I agree, leaving the eggs with the dads usually gives the best results. I've got my fingers crossed I have similar succes with my L397 group here in the UK.
They also have to learn how to be good parents. Sometimes it takes a few spawns, but their fry will actually know how to care for their offspring. Maybe you want a monopoly though haha 🤔
@@boddiesbuddy1380 My 8 397's are about 14 months in age.. I've had them now for 10 months... any advice on foods? I have many many wood options, they do semolina and algae tabs, come out for flakes, but I don't know if there is a best combination to make them 'ready.' Back when I did Bosmani Rainbow fish, simple frozen brine shrimp once a week and a water change 8 days later made them 'ready' but I've got no clue on these L397s. Bristlenoses were easy and often, so waiting to see but want to help them along so any words you might have are appreciated.
I agree 😉
Wow, congratulations on a great week! Write it all down so you can look back not only for a repeat but also for a smile!
I recon as soon as you shaved the stash they didn't see you as a male bristlenose anymore and thought it was safe to breed hahahah JK.
Good job bud going awesome, going to prob order some peppermints soon so hopefully you will have some availabile. Keep on keeping on
Babahahahahahhahaha
ADd to the tumblers some small catappa leaves. Boil them and let them cool discard the boiling water and ad the leaves to the tumbler. These leaves have amazing antifunga; properties, plus they make the water soft and slightly acidic, plus they promote aufwuchs growth great for otocinclus and plecoes.
Omg so exciting. Congrats. Maybe u could do a vid on what u feed all ur fish. Almost reaching a big milestone. Keep it up Nick, ur an inspiration.
Thank you bro
@@KeepingFishSimple almost 100k!

You’ve doubled in subs since I started watching you, congrats man
Camera quality also looks great 🙌🏻🔥
Thank you so much!
Well done mate. Exciting times.
Congrats mate! Been waiting for that moment ever since! 👌🏻👌🏻
I love the quality of your videos. You’re one of my favorite fish pages. Good luck on the breeding!
Thank you!
Great blog episode. Loads to be excited about there. Well done mate.
Great video, I’ve learnt so much, particularly about the plecos👍
Good video, with good content 👌 I'm a fan of plecos.
You're right, the drop in temperature associated with the proximity of rain and storms helps to trigger spawns. It's like a simulation of the rainy season with a reduction in atmospheric pressure.
Thanks for sharing 😄
Thank you!
I keep an app on my phone that watches the kili barometric pressure. Where I live 1014 is 'medium' and usually find it at 1020, but when a storm/rain comes thru it drops to 1008 and lower, making all my fish more active.
Congrats on the fish room firsts.
Great Job, Nick...greets from Germany 🤗
Thank you!
Wow dude congrats on your new spawns!!! Can't wait to see them hatched :D
So awesome! I bet you were run off your feet! The whiptail fry are amazing!
Names for your new betta: 1.Amaranth for the male, and Hyacinth for the female...
Thanks again for taking the time! 😁
Thank you !!!
I like this song that was playing 😍 I love all this footage thank you
Congratz on the breedings! I have breed my Royal twiggs/whip tails multiple times. I leave the fry with the parents and have lots of anubias or Java Fern in the tank. For the fry to graze off of. I feed the tank new life spectrum grow and various types of algea wafers. The fry can't be moved around like plecos as they are quite fragile. I don't move them from the tank until they are atleast 5 cm. Good luck!
Thanks!!!
Another great video really enjoyed this one so much content and information keep up the good work buddy looking forward to the bettas
Awesome video. Congratulations on the great pleco success.
Thanks Darryl!
Dude no way your channel grew so much, I had been following since around 4,000subs on my previous account just recently have I found my way back to this channel and you’re almost at 100k 🤝
Great video. Alot of fun to see whats happening in your fish room.

Fascinating never new you could do this. I’m after koi fish in Australia 🇦🇺.
Wow nice video can't wait until my l333s start to breed

@@youraveragefishkeeper wow nice yeah got my first ever l number plecos yesterday 😆

Methylene blue will fix the fungus problems. Just subscribed hopefully by the next video you hit 100.000.
Egg-cellent video as usual!
Exactly the same week my L201s spawned for the first time! Congrats!
Congrats!
SO EXCITING! Lil zebby bois gonna be taking over the fish room!

Excellent video. No moustache 👍
Thank you!
Great video
Love your videos bro.
🤑 hope they sell well for you!!! Also you're sooo close to 100k!!! 💚🎊
Great!!!! It look like my fish room 😉 : I have spawned L393, L201, L066, L340, Sturisomatichthys Panamense, Bettas, Pterophillum Scalare and Cory's (Venezuela Black, Orange, Panda, Adolfoi, Trilineatus)... And handmade pleco tubes 😊
Nick, it’s definitely worth setting up a 20l tank that’s dedicated for egg tumblers. I have one and I keep it with the meth blue running and it makes a huge difference.
Thanks!!
Great video. Love seeing these updates and the progress. Have you considered putting all the egg tumblers in 1 tank so you can treat them all with anti-fungal in one go?
I have yes
Keep it up dude I’m in the uk 🇬🇧 I love your videos currently breeding wild Oscar’s and black lines pike cichlids you look better without the tash btw happy breeding
Thank you!!
*100K next! keep grinding. Great video as always!!*

Ok I was one that commented on the mustach. But now you have to bring it back, I already miss it.
0:09 dude!!!!! He moustache looked good👌🏻
Hahahahaha
I would love for you to do a video on blue phantom plecos, care guide, sexing male from female, and breeding :0
Might have to try cooling the tank for my L471’s
Very good video bro
Awesome!
Thanks!
Just picking up some lda074 bristlenoses. They're blue medusa. Hoping to get them breeding in the next few months.
Thanks for always being so generous with the info that you share mate, it's fantastic.
Thanks!
I love the peppermint bristlenose good luck
Thanks 🙏
I like the mustache, but I think a goatee would be even better 😁❤️
That's not what I'm here today, I enjoy your incredible videos!! Congratulations on all your breeding projects!! It has been great following your journey !! Thank you so much for sharing!! I hope you're having a great day!!🙏❤️🌿🐟🌿💚
Thanks so much! Idk if the goatee would suit but hahaha
@@KeepingFishSimple 🤣❤️🥰
He's back.
Hahaha!
Wellllll doneeeeeeee!
Thank you!
@@KeepingFishSimple can you please start replying to dms when you have time or are there to many?
Liked the mustache
Can you make a video of egg tumblers how do you use it and cleaning it and some tips and tricks
Cool set up mate. If you're in WA I might be keen to buy a few fish off you.
Thanks!
Great video mate. What size tanks for the grow out tank?
Great job super happy for you. I'm a new to all this breading. I saw a video you done on neon Terra are you gonna try a bread them again?
Yes I will
L397 all day!
I remember when my L397 first bred, eggs basically twice the size of peppermint eggs, but half as many.
I also found it a little harder to feed L397s, they seem a lot more picky/finicky than pepps.
My L397s also seem picky. They don’t eat zucchini, or the algae wafers. What worked for you?
@@thetwowheeledintrovert3367 occasionally cucumber, and watermelon. If they're big enough, some sinking protein pellets are good too, especially if they're breeding.
@@thetwowheeledintrovert3367 I sometimes sink cucumber with a fork, other times I'll boil it for a little while, then allow it to cool. It'll go soft and sink by itself, and seems to be easier for fry to eat then
Another awesome video! What do you feed your peppermint bristle nose ?
I’ll say in next video. Most veg matter but some protein when breeding
hey i just want you to know that breeding dumbos is much more harder since of his long fins that will be harder to wrap thats why they usually breed a halfmoon female cross a dumbo hmpk male betta and you will get the babys you want but u can try just a heads up and keep his tank very pristene because they are so prone to fin ripping and they are very prone to fungus but other wise they look good
Good advice
Nice Video bro
I would really appreciate a koi hand breeding and rasing the fry
As my koi are spawning on hardwood and the other Koi are eating the eggs ❤️
100K SUBS!
Sorry for off topic question. How big does the Peruvian Altums that you have grow up to be? Would you be able to make a video on them? Very keen to buy some from your website. Thanks in advance!
Peppermint Plecos are cool, im getting some
Nice!
Pinky and the brain. 😁
Maybeeee
I accidentally bread my atto catfish the other day,
I was doing all my usual rounds on my tanks, and I found a lot of catfish eggs everywhere.
Great video once again also guys let subscribe to this man he’s nearly at 100k! He truly deserves this!
Edit: Video request! 100k Brand new is room tour in ur fish room and i n your friends rooms (can’t recal the name like Jason or something?) and a viewer gets to choose some kind of fish for you to try to breed and sell on you’re sight.
Thanks 🙏 will do the tour soon
You look better without the mustache. Fresh!
For US viewers, aircon is AC.
It's summer now there down under, right?
Yes that’s right!
Under appreciated channel. Hope the best for you and your fish room!
Thank you!
Great vid. Thanks!
Note at 6:50 your greater than signs (>) are not in agreement with your statement "less than". Can you clarify which one is correct?
I screwed up! Less than 50ppm. Been out of school too long and it shows.
No more sanchezzz lol 😂
Lol
Bring the MO back 💪
Any thoughts about breeding L190's?
What size are your pleco breeding tanks? Greetings from Hawaii🤙🏽
good job on getting that gone, save some ladies for the rest of us.
I’m going to build a fish rack, not sure what filtration to use, do you know what would be the best
I leave all my pleco fry in the caves with the dad and only remove them when I see them on the glass.
You should tell people who have a different metric system I keep my tanks at 78 degrees
Hey man, just made a new acc with idea on sharing my knowledge on breeding tetras and other sort of egg scattering fish. Gonna be honest, i love what you do. Charismatic enough to where people like you, but not over the top like most youtubers.
With pleasantries out the way, i would like to ask a serious question about conditioning fish, which i dont see a lot of people, or actually any place on the internet talking about.
Live foods are the way to go, frozen are a good alternative, but what about places that are not in the US/canada that are harder to get their hands on live food? With corona stuff going on, here in serbia we only got access to grindal worms and micro worms from local hobbyist that kept their cultures going. So i started my research of alternative methods to conditioning, since getting some live / frozen food is ridiculously overpriced. Didnt find much, i'll tell you that... Any ides? Maybe even do a video on how you condition your fish since you have a decent size fish room, and those prices must stack up.
Why conditioning is important? Well, for someone looking to make a few extra bucks on the side, you cant get far with selling 10-20 fish comparing to 200-500 per spawn. And wasting all the food, electricity and time on 10-20 fish is less than ideal. So if you could spend few hours daily raising fry, you would much rather want to get as much out of that as you possibly can, hence the conditioning part.
Thanks for taking your time to read this long post, wish you all the best mate!
I heard in Australia the price is overly high. Here in China L201 L270 L397 fries are about 3-4$ each about 5-6cm. I breed about 26 species and I really really wished I was staying in Australia. Will make lots of profit there
Are peppermint bristlenoses harder to breed than common bristlenose? Whats the differences between the kinds.
More air flow will help with fungus
im watching your vedio more now bro im not a breeder but i want to do it for hobby and i did't understand the equipment your using what is the egg hatching jar and how do you change temprature by individually or full room temprature
May I know what was the rough size of ur L333s and L397s during spawning? Thanks!
With your peppermint colonies what size tank do you have them in and in what ratio of males to females and how many do you have in a colony. I have peppermints myself but have only had 1 spawn from them awhile ago and thinking i may need to change something up. With your bredding tanks are they the standard 2 foot tanks or are the custom sized and are they custom lids or home made ones?
At the 6:40 mark approx, you mention the GH and KH being less than. 50ppm but on screen you have written the and KH GREATER then 50ppm...
