I have a zero tolerance for wokeness. I have no problem ditching Getty for the old hymns. Not a bit.
The more the culturally relevant the church becomes, the less relevant the church becomes for making true disciples.
This wokeness is unfortunately growing like a cancer
This is more great work, Jon. Thank you for your continued diligence and skillful prowess at your craft, your discernment, your drive to protect the true church from pagan philosophies and ideologies, and inform us of the errors and deceptions being shuffled into the churches and peddled to us regularly, as of late. "Most heretics try to mask their heresy by using orthodox language to convey it." - R.C. Sproul
I miss that man.
Years ago when I learned they were coming to live and work in Nashville, I felt deep concerns in my soul for them. My concerns have been coming to pass, little by little. I'm deeply saddened that the writers of such meaningful songs may be going down the slippery slope.
“Black Lives Matter” is the 22nd Century version of 1st Century “Caesar is Lord.”
It 's a little more deceptive though. Now if it read "only minority lives matter" then it would fit with Caesar is Lord better.
Thanks for battling for God’s Truth.
I suppose it will end as it all began, with believers meeting in each other's homes.
That has been my thought for some time now...I actually thought we may have more time; but things have happened so quickly, maybe we should be cleaning our familyrooms and lining up chairs.
Watch free on Amazon Prime "How Should We Then Live" Episode 10 for Francis Schaeffer's amazing prediction from the 1970s that describes so well these times. I especially liked the news skit that show how easy it is influence viewers. It's less than a half hour. Forgive the 1970s video quality, but it is worth watching it.
This is my new favorite channel, thank you for speaking the truth.
BH Carroll’s statement about leading Southwestern Seminary. Great wisdom.
BH Carroll’s death bed charge to his successor, Lee Scarborough-
“In fact, Carroll’s resolve for the seminary to be accountable to the churches is most vividly captured in his deathbed injunction to Lee Scarborough, his successor as president of Southwestern Seminary. Carroll instructed Scarborough, “Lee, keep the Seminary lashed to the cross. If heresy ever comes in the teaching, take it to the faculty. If they will not hear you and take prompt action, take it to the trustees of the Seminary. If they will not hear you, take it to the Convention that appoints the Board of Trustees, and if they will not hear you, take it to the great common people of our churches. You will not fail to get a hearing then.””
I was disturbed about the Getty’s watching them going woke. So incredible....
It is terribly unsettling to learn that a man whom I have thought was faithful to the Lord in his walk and his talk had seemingly succumbed to the wisdom of the world rather than standing on the Truth, and in doing that denied the truth of the Holy Bible. I have not expected perfection in any person because we are all sinnets. Yet I do hold those who preach and teach the Word of God to a higher standard because of their calling. And when one of them fails through a sin of the flesh, we are shaken. But when one of them speaks or acts in ways that, after years of preaching/teaching, now contradicts their own previous ministry and more seriously of God's direct Word, we wonder how we can ever put any confidence in the words of those who claim to speak as God's men. They have mocked the Word of God! Any institution which has such on their faculty should dismiss them immediately, and not to do so and publicly refute them is to be a part of their error. I am glad that Southern Baptist churches are autonomous. An on the day mine is required to have a formal binding association with the SB Convention will be the day I will began to search for a church which stands on The Word alone. SB churches will have to take a stand for - or against God's Word.
They headed into the woke world awhile back, and I was saddened, as I enjoyed some of their music, but think that we are better to fix our eyes on God, err on the side of caution, Scripture says singing in psalms and hymns... it is not wrong to ask the questions, Scripture reminds us to discern.
Whether some are born with a sexual orientation that is contrary to God’s original design does not negate the fact that that orientation is sinful.
We are all born sinners yet we don’t condone sin in ourselves or others.
I am simply saying that their argument for “gay” orientation is bogus on its face.
I really appreciate your endeavors !
Thanks again for the invaluable information.
Mankind is born "oriented" to sin, hence as Jesus answered Nicodemus “...Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” ~ John 3:3 (ESV)
Amen, I wouldn't use any modern versions of God's Word...stick with the KJV or earlier versions instead. God bless!
It is way past time to fight. A time to war and a time for peace. Cultural Christians flock after motivational "spiritual" speakers!
If the person is telling the truth then I don't have a problem with names "being named". Funny how liberals believe they have all the answers but are scared to be associated with their beliefs.
Excellent
Thank you and greetings from Australia
Thank you!
I just discovered your channel very recently. I love your content.
Given the Reformed to Woke pipeline, it’s only a matter of time before the Getty’s jump on that train as well.
With regard to the Getty's In Aug 30, Phil Visher was on their facebook fro Sing. That really saddened me. It was already after his major BLM stuff came out.
They are inviting him to their 2021 Sing Confrence too too. He will be a speaker.
Kristyn was at Capernwray Bible School in Carnforth, England when I was there in 98/99...we weren't close, so it's not like I have a REAL connection...but this surprised me when I saw this the other day... disappointing.
Class of 01-02!
@@Charles.Wright Very cool!!😁
Love the conversation, come to Chattanooga, TN and let’s go on a hike!
REF NET took "The Briefing" off of their Podcast last year Hmmm
I emailed them
They also removed “The World and Everything In It” as well as any news blurbs
The news was starting to heat up with COVID and BLM
They were trying to avoid the controversies
Just recently, though, Piper’s stuff is no longer aired on REF NET
That’s a HMMMMM!
I have been to 3 SING conferences and they are a balm for my soul compared to the contemporary theological shallow songs that are popular. But I am praying for them as they appear to be leaning woke and I'm concerned for them.
I know Nate personally, went to school with him, was at Boyce and at SBTS with Nate and while his Dad Chip was on staff at SBTS, I would say that Nate was not deceptive about his same sex attraction even while being faithfully married to Sarah, but i think its a bit of an overstatement to say that he would "introduce himself as a gay christian"....i knew/know him very closely and it didn't come out for quite some time.
please also understand, my explanation is not to justify anything he wrote in his dissertation or his current position on gender etc.
@@DustinBenton iI just don't understand guys like Nate. I know plainly what the Scriptures teach on these matters and if we deviate everything is lost. The only answer is that he in the least stay married and keep his feelings to himself. How do you deal with it DB?
Proverbs 29:7 ESV - A righteous man knows the rights of the poor; a wicked man does not understand such knowledge.
Anyone that wants to team up with the wicked on providing justice to the poor and oppressed is deceived.
Exactly! As if the wicked have anything akin to a Biblical understanding of justice!
Excellent verse, stick with the KJV Bible though... modern versions are corrupt and wicked. Psalm 12:7 and 1 John 5:7 are just a couple verses you can compare the KJV with different modern versions and see what I mean.
Stay strong in the Lord, brother!
These people he quotes are wolves in sheep's clothing. Well trained and experienced at hiding their true natures.
I find it hard to believe that the Getty's want those beautiful Christian, Irish daughters to grow up hating the color of their skin, well any more than any fair skinned person does in the summertime. I have been blessed by their worship songs, and I love that VOM's movie about Richard Wurmbrand used the song, "In Christ Alone". Near the beginning of 2020 I was blessed by their weekly family sing and recommended it to other people. I was, however, also concerned by some of who I saw on the "Sing" program. I had actually considered attending, but that changed my mind.
That said, it is ours to pray for discernment for ourselves and our brothers and sisters discernment. God alone knows motives and is able to use even such as this for His glory. Pray for those who may be mislead from the true word of God!
Who is Dr. LITTLE is he a Church Historian? DOES this Seminary have tenured track?

Jon,
I don't see how to get the two books?
I am at the checkout on the website and see one book for $15, how do I add the second one?

Ron thanks again for your work. Is Professor Fuller doing ok financially? has he found employment?
Switches to non political talk on the craziest political day ever 😅
A nice break!
This was a scheduled upload in advance while he is in DC.
@Hamie 1808 Agree. Though admittedly I'm very interested in what's going on in DC today.
hey Jon-as a member of St. Andrews Chapel (the church on the same campus of RBC) and knowing how most of us members approach Biblical justice correctly, I'd encourage you to write to Stephen Nichols and ask him directly about those statements. I'd venture that he'd respond to you graciously and openly. As far as teaching at an event that platforms some who you may not agree with, isn't it better to go and preach truth? It isn't like it's a Hillsong or Bethel event or some crazy thing like that. Just my initial thoughts.
Check out the Getty's Sing!Global website (www.singglobal.com). Disturbing promotion there of J H Perry and other questionable "Deep Theology" teachers and "Timeless Artistry" artists.
I stopped listening and following the Getty’s when I saw them talking about & inviting John Piper.
Jon, isn't Nate Collins married? What is going on?
I'm friends with Stephen Nichols' Father. That is concerning.
Does he do 5 min in church history?
@@iloveamerica64 stephen speaks a lot about church history. I'm not a huge follower of his but I've gotten to hear him preach a few times in person. His dad was one of my mentors and I bumb into him now and then. But I've only been in the same room with Stephen on a hand full of occasions when he was a guest speaker
I will be looking for corroboration. Not because he's not trustworthy, but because the Bible commands us to not accept charges against Elders (which a Seminary President doesn't rightly qualify as, but....) accept with more than one witness. In no way disagreeing with what Russell Fuller is claiming. If it's true, may God expose the false teachers.
Hey Alan. Best friends with your brother who turned me on to this podcast.
@@rmccully11 Nice!
@@rmccully11 As I always tell my brother (who is ten years younger than me): Remember. I was here before PG.
Why does he say several times "I knew this a year ago" regarding the "inside" "breaking" information? This adds nothing to the conversation and seems very egotistical, like "see how in-the-know I am". Just wondering...
Who did the Getty's invite? I'm not watching the whole video.
It's towards the latter part of the video. You need to watch it instead of asking for names.
