HI John, I have listen to a number of your RUclips presentations. I am not a Baptist but have been in a number of denominations currently in Missouri Synod Lutheran church. Many years ago I was rescued by the Lord out of both marxism and the occult. It’s a long story but I wanted you to have a little of my background. I went to a seminary in Pennsylvania that was connected to the Anglican renewal and had a lot of similar problems to what you are experiencing in the Southern Baptist convention. Some of the professors were wonderful others however were a combination of liberal and charismatic. This is just to say that I’ve had a lot of experience with church craziness as well as worldly craziness. When I discovered Al Mohler through one of his daily programs I was impressed with his learning and his caring about me inerrancy of scripture. At the seminary that I went to I specialized in church history and ended up doing a thesis on the inerrancy debate that was going on at the time. I became convinced. That that was the position of the historical church. So I’ve been very sympathetic in Ways with Al Mohler and also with the Southern Baptist convention in their battle to remain orthodoxOn the authority of scripture for the church as well as our personal lives. It surprised me to learn how quickly this cultural Marxism(Which I was raised in) Has been flooding into the church, but in another way I was not surprised because all this reminded me of what happened in the fundamentalist modernist controversy that took place at the beginning of the 20th century and gave birth to. liberalism in all the main line evangelical churches and they became liberal bastions. Truly critical race theory is Marxism in the Disguise. This reminds me of the the saying of Lenin’s “that liberals were useful idiots”. In other words they were idealistic and thought they were doing good but they ended up serving they are Marxist masters. I don’t know Albert Mohler well enough to decide whether he is idealistic and deceived or power seeking , cooperating with the ones who want to change both the church and the culture into the Marxist model. Historically Marxist have tried to take over by presenting the oppressor and the oppressed model. In the United States they have used racism but basically they don’t care about race at all they care about getting power for themselves over a church and a country that is however imperfectly trying to follow Christ. Basically Marxist hate Christ, And I know this from history and also from personal experience.
@@leedezern6862 @Richard Nathan So if I may politely ask please, do you worship the sacraments and/or rest upon them as fundamental grounds of your salvation?

Calling us racist is actually racism. We are being condemned as subhuman for nothing more than existing in a specific state of being. These 'sermons' are just clan rallies with a few words swapped. One note that I doubt most people would even consider. Find condemnation of racism in the Bible. Jesus calls us to be one body with one race and one identity. God knows what he is doing so, instead of telling us to deny our tribalist instincts, we are to become a single tribe set apart from the rest of the world.
Such behavior is counterfeit Holy Spirit. No one knows our hearts but God. The devil is the accuser of the brethren. What he does is shames and blames us. By contrast the Holy Spirit and the Word of God convict us if we are guilty of something and help us to repent then we are encouraged to move on without guilt and shame. The Devil is the Accuser of the Brethren. There is therefore now NO condemnation for those who are are in Christ Jesus. That's the Gospel and I'm sticking to it. Leaving people perpetually in guilt and shame for ambiguous somethings is the voice of Satan, not God.
I live in Louisville KY and SBTS is walking distance from my house. I also attend Al Mohler's church that Russell Moore used to be the pastor of before going to lead ERLC. The direction of the SBC doesn't seem to be a concern by our church. Our church doesn't embrace CRT etc. My question is how long do conservative Bible believing churches continue to be affiliated with the SBC seeing these changes spreading through the SBC? And how do individual church members consider whether or not to continue in a SBC church?
There is a difference between teaching something as acceptable doctrine and equipping future pastor's enabling them to spot these things in their and other's teachings. Example: teaching what Gnosticism is and its tenets not teaching Gnosticism as acceptable. I believe that spotting the tenets of CRT is important in resisting deconstruction of the gospel.
This explains the use of psychology (the secular way to explain behavior without sin) in Christian schools. The issue in the sufficiency of scripture is eroded in using the cultures methods. Even in the video you provided yesterday about Liberty (which I am a graduate) there was a claim of belief in scripture but not the sufficiency.

That's hard to say, exactly, but I'l just take a stab based on how I feel. More and more of late, however, this issue of SJ seems to be challenging his biblical integrity to a greater degree than I've ever seen. This past history of good work for the church and at least a public display of great integrity makes it hard to hear criticism of him from many. I've been seeing him more and more clearly - both through some in person observations and that of friends who have been in positions to watch how he interacts with non-academics/non-inner circle, average folks, and this along with the testimony of Russell Fuller and Mr Rush seem to be forming a coherent picture of a man who is a bit too out of touch, but who is a very skilled rhetorician. To put it bluntly, he is a man who is accustomed to being listened to, to holding an audience. In my opinion, and that of some trusted friends, listening is not his strength.
I think it is in large part to 1: many folks are being kept like mushrooms in the dark with crap heaped upon them 2: as long as the cooperative program is tied to SBC pastors retirement plans, they’ll be in too much fear to do anything.
@@TheSMEAC not sure that you correctly understand the CP and pastor’s retirement plans. The CP does not support retirement for pastors. GuideStone is an SBC entity but the connection should not prevent pastors from addressing corruption.

What has been ignored by many in this whole ordeal is that the drivers of the "Woke" trend in the Southern Baptist Convention have been almost entirely Reformed: Greear, Moore, Akin, Deever, etc. These are people that actively imbibed the New Calvinism and promoted it. These are the people that have appropriated the word "Gospel" until it doesn't mean anything anymore. Because the New Calvinism was built on trends, are we surprised when these seem people jump on other trends like CRT? Even so, CRT can fit within Calvinism. Hall's "Pauline view of sin" is well in line with total depravity and total inability. The same tactics of faking a financial crisis to fire dissidents were used at SWBTS after Mohler acolyte Greenway fired all of Patterson's followers. I don't think the issue of "wokeness" in the SBC can really be dealt with without also addressing the soteriological debate, because they seem to go hand in hand in this situation.
@@angramp3430 Saying that these men are not Reformed is like the Tankie saying that Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot aren’t “real” Communists. Not all Calvinists are woke, but you can’t pretend that these men did not get into power by espousing TULIP and promoting Reformed theology.
That's SO 2 faced!! I can't believe this Garbage! This is why I can only listen to videos of John Mac, James White, and old ones of RC... and the sad reality is even dear RC was not a pre-supper nor a young earther, although thank GOD he wasn't a theistic evolutionist! I used to LOVE Al so much when I listened to his sermons and podcast! He even had a truly epic sermon which I believe is still on YT about young-earth - so this video really comes as a surprise!! I'm very dissapointed, but I can see how $$$ and students' personal leanings eventually can erode away a man who is a "politician" .... anyways thanks for the video! I will subscribe now I think. As long as you also stay true conservative, true Christian, and truly Bible believing!!
Hope you don't mind me commenting this - but just came to mind.. James White once exposed Ravi Zacharias in a Q&A where he was asked the DIFFERENCE between Roman Catholics & Protestants... and Nabeel was on stage with him at the time. I cannot believe this and it BROKE MY FREAKIN HEART: Ravi actually smeared the differences and said, "Well - you can be a good Catholic and a bad Protestant .. so at the end of the day.. well let me tell you a story." I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EARS OR EYES. WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU DO THIS??? UNLESS YOU WERE GETTING HEAVY $$$ FROM CATHOLICS??!! That day I will never forget because I had admired him for so long until White finally exposed this despicable pandering and capitulation to Rome (James said it was possibly ignorance). I expected that from "CEOs" like Rick Warren or others, but never Ravi. Anyways I look forward to watching more of your videos now because I want to know who is "playing both sides" - like many "republican" leaders - and who actually has INTEGRITY that they will die for!!
So any objective debate about appropriate/inappropriate is now dividing? The Apostle Paul seemed to tell the churches what they were doing wrong just a little. This is not a unity debate - this is biblical/unbiblical church leadership.
@conversationsthatmatter I am an academic at a liberal arts university, and I'm a reformed Christian. I believe you're right that Al Mohler is an academic too that in some sense has to be careful what he says and endorses as a president of a SBC university. I just wonder if you are labeling all Christians who bring up the fact that we have systemic racism in this country still today as critical race theorists? If you are, then I suggest you consider that identifying all with the CRT label creates a false dichotomy. Some have spoken out against racism because it's unbiblical and some have labeled them as CRT adherents and have attacked other brothers in the faith unjustly. There is a difference in teaching a subject with the intent to provide knowledge on an opposing Biblical view and one that advocates it's premise. I hope you are discerning the difference.
Good comment, John. It appears that there is a knee jerk reaction in the evangelical world (and I am a Southern Baptist, myself) that assumes flaming liberalism from anyone who so much as thinks black Americans might be pulled over by police at a disproportionate rate. One local, conservative pastor said, "we can disagree with CRT and the BLM movement while at the same time saying black lives matter." He was raked over the coals for it. Would we use the same arguments toward 19th century abolitionists or the precious few evangelicals who spoke up for black brothers and sisters in the 1960s? May God have mercy on us.
The problem is you laid out a faulty view of Biblical discipline of a sinning brother. Scripture tells us to go the individual and tell them of their sin and if they don't listen and repent you go to the elders... wait that's the problem! The SBC does not have Biblical discipline as outlined in Scripture. You don't bypass the elders and go to the congregation as suggested!
A lot of nasty accusations, based on almost nothing. You should be ashamed of promoting the unproven claims of one man and drawing conclusions from those vague comments. You are a gossip.
@@TheJpep2424 Well he didn't produce any, hearsay and maybe was what he produced. So and so says. What happened to the biblical standard of evidence and dealing with issues? And, of course, he spoke with Al Mohler, with his witnesses, first?
Respectfully, I know folks like yourself and AJ Robles believe all this "insider info" on work church, politically-correct, liberal thinking and practices in the Christian realm are necessary for believers to know, but it's starting very much to look like ladies congregating to discuss storylines of a TV soap opera. It smacks of a prideful and condescending spirit: "I'm a real Christian, others are less so, or not". Well, that's been true for all time, but were it not for the power of social media, channels like this one wouldn't have an audience outside of what one would be able to publish via podcast or the written word. The hypocrisy that exists is that folks like yourself would be the first to confess that God is sovereign, His providence is at work in the world, etc...but yet all the commentary suggests that what you really believe is that all the most-recent surge in PC, CRT, racial commentary in organized / institutional church circles is entirely outside of God's purview. Lines in the sand are being drawn worldwide, and it seems to me your time and those of others like you who profess saving faith in Christ would be better invested in sharing the Word with others who don't know Christ. All this other stuff is just secular-sounding Christian Cancel Culture.
I watched it & I pray God will use it to shine truth into the SBC. Keep pushing forward 🙏🏻

@@TheSMEAC I don't like "liking" your comment, but yeah...
@@TheSMEAC not sure that you correctly understand the CP and pastor’s retirement plans. The CP does not support retirement for pastors. GuideStone is an SBC entity but the connection should not prevent pastors from addressing corruption.
May question is why is he giving one group of students 5 million dollars and not all the other students. This is a racist movement toward one group over the others. This not Christian actions at all in my mind!
Calvinism: Where God sends those to hell for not believing in something He never did for them.
The Calvinists do have a history of going off the rails beginning with Calvin’s Geneva, the Salem witch trials, the land theft in Ireland etc.
@@johntrevett2944 Hey John, that is GOOD stuff! Did you write it, or has it been around awhile?..because I never saw it before today.
These men you cited are not Reformed. The vast number of actually Reformed folks are 100% against this woke stuff.
Amen

Can anyone say "Imperial Cult"?
Jon, can we meet in the middle?
How about more content, AND longer?
Lol
Not sure if you could do a book review on The Hedonism and Homosexuality of John Piper and Sam Allberry: The Truth of Scripture (by Enoch Burke
Perhaps you have more to say, but it looks like nit picking to me.
Why spew info that divides the convention (the church) instead spreading the Gospel?
So any objective debate about appropriate/inappropriate is now dividing? The Apostle Paul seemed to tell the churches what they were doing wrong just a little. This is not a unity debate - this is biblical/unbiblical church leadership.
Anthony, I'm not sure how this potentially divisive comments helps spread the Gospel?
Shorter is better.
@@JamesWilliams-he4lb absolutely right brother and thanks, I was beginning to think I was the only one who is seeing the imbalance here.
He's been documenting facts for a long time now. You're ignorant and bearing false witness.
@@TheJpep2424 Well he didn't produce any, hearsay and maybe was what he produced. So and so says. What happened to the biblical standard of evidence and dealing with issues? And, of course, he spoke with Al Mohler, with his witnesses, first?
You teach "about" critical race theory all the time. A lot more that the word of God from what I've seen.
If God is sovereign, why write this reply? You're not even following your own logic.
