Unquestionably a magnificent film, superb actors, David Lean an excellent director.
I happen to live near the place where it was actually filmed. There is a placard in that very place showing how it was in the early 1960´s with some photos of the film set, the actors and the scenery which was built at thatb time. Nowadays there are lots of new buildings. However, I really enjoy visiting the area trying to identify the exact sites of every part of the set ( Zhivago´s house, the Kremlin walls, the tram route, etc.).

He also was in three more Lean films, but those three named epics were my favorites. On the RUclips list of options to choose from, there are two photos of Julie Christie, supposedly "Then" and "Now" photos. Next to the "Now" photo of Ms. Christie is a photo of an elderly woman, in a what looks like a wheelchair. Having been teenager in 1965, and a huge fan of Ms. Christie and Mr. Sharif, I would have clicked on and watched the video anyway. It has both gladden and sadden me to have read on find out how well some of the actors are still doing, and how the lives of some of them came to an end as a result of illness. What is a pitiful, is the cheap tactic of the "Now" photo of Ms. Christie, which is not accurate, in order to attract a viewer to your video. So, your website is now added to my list of cheap, pitiful and pathetic websites to avoid in the future. Nice going!

I wish you had have used the theme music from Doctor Zhivago for this. It’s called Lara’s Theme. . It’s iconic. And when this movie came out people bought the record, the movie theme albums and/or at least albums that certain composers/orchestras did a version of Lara’s Theme. Back then and in the 60’s/70’s orchestral music of popular music was big. I’m also including Ferrante And Teicher, Mantovani, Paul Mauriat. Or Burt Bacharach. Or even Ray Coniff.

The cast all worked so well together. Rod Steiger as Komarovsky made such a believable villain and the perfect counterbalance to Omar Sharif as Yuri. The movie inspired a roller coaster of emotions. In the closing scenes, where Rita Tushingham as Yuri and Lara''s love child is explaining to Alec Guiness how she came to be lost under Komarovsky's care, I can remember my wife sobbing, jumping up from her seat, and shouting at the screen, "You b*stard!, You b*stard!"

Julie Christie is still amazingly beautiful for her age. Aged 56 I still think she is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, on the TV or in real life. Steiger had the looks of a thug but he was a brilliant actor, very underrated. Sharif was a bad tempered SOB in real life, but an absolute legend as a film star (and as a Bridge player).

So grateful for these past/present pictures. They remind us that pretty or not so much, all of us show the years and lose the bloom of youth. Many have passed away, and those of us in our 80’s are fortunate to still be with our families. Each of those in the cast of Doctor Zhivago gave us great pleasure with excellent performances many years ago. Life is a wonderful circle.

In Tito’s Yugoslavia Boris Pasternak was forbidden…..Lara’s song come first, than the movie and the novel….
In the beginning of the 90. I was visiting some relatives in London ….
Luckily me ,I nearly bumped to Julie Christie… even more beautiful in the real life , you can see the real lady regardless of the outfit
Her eyes, simple style, the way she was walking …
I was literally staring at her, she gave me a warm smile 💐
