- Make sure to adjust quality to 1080p60 before watching What a cool adventure in LA! I had heard about the abandoned zoo in Griffith Park but finally decided to go check it out for myself. It's a little tricky to find but in this video I provide simple instructions for you to follow. It was a fun little escape and cool to see this part of LA history. The old animal holdings have been left as ruins and there is a ton of cool graffiti to check out. This is a great little day trip idea with friends or even a date idea. You can bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the surrounding park. More interesting facts in the video :) Take a look for yourself! All footage shot on my GoPro HERO 8

I was there a few weeks ago. Really cool spot to visit.
Awesome! So glad you enjoyed it too 😊
It was a great zoo in its time. I would go with the cubscouts all the time.
From my research it looked like it was thriving and awesome! Thank you for sharing 😊 I’m glad you got to enjoy it then
Looks like a good day to hike
Always a good day to hike!
@@EJAdventures Doing my first 14er white mountain in March. Have you done that hike ??
@@javiervera7025 amazing!!!!! You’re gonna crush it! I haven’t. You’ll have to let me know how it goes
How long is the actual walk to get there. Would younger kids 8-10 make it?
If you park in the carousel parking lot it’s a short walk! Honestly not sure the distance exactly but definitely doable for 8-10 year olds. Shouldn’t take you longer than 10-15 mins walking from that lot
Can’t wait to go on more adventures with you which I mean watching more vids
🤗🤗🤗
Yeeeeeah let's get this bread!
You know itttttt! We got this
@@EJAdventures don't forget me when you've become an influencer.
Hahaha! Could never forget you
Wow that’s super cool EJ! I live relatively close in Glendale. Gotta check it out!!
Thank you! Always appreciate your feedback :) It means so much. It's definitely a cool spot to explore.. let me know if/when you do! Want to hear your thoughts
EJ that was awesome!!! Have to go check out that gem 💎 you found for us. As always looks like you had a blast ☺️
Thank you! It was a great adventure day! You would love it. Griffith has so many amazing offerings 😊
@@EJAdventures I love the trails there, can't believe I've never heard or seen this old zoo. I will go there and check it out. Thanks to you!!
I had no idea of this place. Is it open to visitors?
Yes it is! Super cool little adventure 😊
I like how you dressed for the occasion! I see that animal print top! ;-) Did the enclosures still have the plaques that state what they were once used for?
Hahah.. like that!? I figured I might as well :) And I didn't see any details posted anywhere but that would've been really cool! There's a chance that they've just worn down over time since it's been so long since they shut down. Great question! Thanks for watching!
That place is supposedly haunted AF, but I’m now realizing how much context and background tracks make a difference cuz it’s no nearly as creepy in huge video😅👏🏼 Still wouldn’t go near dark! Lol
Ahhh Emma so sorry I missed your comment until now. Haha I am totally with you there I wouldn’t want to visit any time other than broad daylight! Creepy vibes for sure
Griffith Park is very dangerous. Alot of homeless and nut jobs there now. Night time is no time to be there. In junior high (middle school), a girl that I went to elementary school and jr. high with was was murdered in the park. Back in 1970. Sad.
I've heard all the stories. My older sister's friend worked at the ranger station by the Merry Go Round there. It is an old adobe house. I can't remember the name it. But he and his coworkers used to hear odd noises there at night. A few yards away is the merry go round that gave Walt Disney the inspiration for creating the one at Disneyland.
Any Teen Wolf fans? Theo and Liam anyone?
Did they film here? Sadly I can’t say I’ve watched it 🙈🙈
I went to the old zoo as a very young child. The new Griffith Park Zoo was built and ready by ~1966. I lived close by and jumped the old zoo fence in 1969 with a friend to see the place. It was very creepy. A lion had killed someone who had gone into his den. Yeah, a stupid human who should've won a Darwin Award. Obviously, the lion was then euthanized later. But his den looked very spooky. To be in his home where he killed someone. The story was reported in the local newspapers. Now, only a remaining part of the old zoo remains. It is very ugly and tagged by cholos.
