Very good video and music. When I saw that polar bear in LA how hot he must have been. When I was very young I remember walking down a line of cages (cells) with different cats bears, and gorillas etc. We didn't know any better as kids but I'm glad most places have improved now!
This made me a little sad, thinking about all those 'wild' animals forced to live out their lives in the strange faux rockery and fenced cages. I'm kinda liking your videos. Great job again!
Oh gosh. You got me scared near the end! Anyway, those cages... like the other commenter said, they look like prison cells to me. I don't wanna go there, even as a spectator. Cool vid:)
So Sad to See these Cages & how the Poor Animals were kept in such Cramped conditions, A Sad but Good Explore, im glad the Zoo has moved 2miles up the road & the Animals now have bigger cages to freely move around.
This is pretty cool! But it’s sad to see how limited space these animals had. I’m not anti zoo or anything but it’s good to see it from a different perspective.
I know this was 3 years ago and I started watching this and all the rest, you're just living the life I've dreamt of since I was 16 to travel and see as much as I can see.. great job, I hope to run into some day, you're a very interesting person.. from Wisconsin ❤️
I explored that bear exhibit years ago before the pit got filled in, I came as a child, and many years later stumbled onto that place by accident as an adult while exploring around, totally blew my mind, I did not know it was there. The choice for back round music was dead on
When I think of this zoo, I'm reminded of Police Academy and the scene where Steve Guttenberg is undercover and he tries to tell Tackleberry where he is through his hidden microphone; "Not the new zoo, it's the old zoo!".
It's great to know they are most likely kept in more normal environments now. The Living Desert in Palm Desert, CA (think Palm Springs area) is amazing! J
I just discovered this place about a year-and-a-half ago after watching an AdamtheWoo vlog. This is one of my favorite areas to visit and picnic in front of the old bear exhibit. I've done a couple vlogs myself here but I really like your version. Where did you find all the old pictures? I couldn't find those off the internet. Good work once again.
I discovered the old LA zoo quite by accident when I was a kid in 1969. They used to keep sick and malnourished animals in those cages, with no one in attendance except for some stray coyotes passing through. It was a death camp then, and a disgrace even now. Ugh!
@Frost Rusher That is so sad. This is one of the reasons I do not support zoos. I live close to Sea World in Florida and that's another place that I will not visit. It's one thing to have these animals that can't go back into the wild for a real reason, but to keep these animals and breed them over and over is a so sad. I also understand that some animals are going extinct but the zoo only breeds them for financial gain.
@@sunshineuponme2333 I have no photos. But the images are engraved in my mind forever! Visualize one of those tragic ASPCA commercials...only with bears, monkeys, and large cats abandoned in small cages to die in their own waste. It was gruesome, not glamorous.
I despise Zoo's. I really believe if people would respect the earth, respect animals and respect each other there would be no need for them. While I entirely understand the basis behind them at this point in our world history I know if people really cared we could reverse all of this. This made me very, very sad...but it was still well done. Thank you.
My dad helped build the L.A zoo and the family did alot of family visits at the zoo alot of times and I went on alot of my school fieldtrips to the zoo it was a great looking zoo I forgot why it was abandoned for what reasons??? I would like to know.
What a sad existence for those poor animals. 😥. They are made to roam free and instead they were brought to that prison just for people to go and stare at them. I hope each of those animals that lived their life there, had a second chance in another life and got to live free.
More like a prison for the innocent animals. Zoos are so sad for animals. I cannot stand to see any birds in cages either...no matter what~ *BIRDS SHOULD NEVER BE IN CAGES!!!*
I have 8mm real to real home movies of our family visiting the L.A.zoo back in the 60s and 70s maybe even as late as the 80s my mom still today has our family home movies on 8mm real to real home movies if you want to watch them with our family and your family you must bring your own popcorn lol
I totally against with the concept of zoos It's an imprisonment for animals... Especially nowadays because TVs and the internet are enough to educate people about animals so no need to give them this tormenting life time punishment keeping them as objects on display.

That was cool, at the same time depressing...
Love how you let the pictures do the talking and the music goes perfect and just the right volume. Great job. Safe travels. 😎
+Patricia Herman Thank you!
I can't believe the size and environment the animals lived in... amazing video again!
I noticed almost ALL of the cages were floored with concrete, NO grass or dirt! How did the animals even survive their existence in that place?
Their poor little paws would have been burning on that hot cement. :(
Sure...We all know dirt doesn't get hot....lol

Ow. Thanks for that stupid jump at the end.
Minalkra thanks for the warning. ⚠️

Those cages were way too small for any of those animals

Inhumane Treatment. I can't imagine the Anxiety that they suffered !! Poor things, you could tell how Stressed they were. Absolutely, Heartbreaking

I think the Dan Ackroyd/Tom Hanks “Dragnet” also filmed here
Animal Prison.....committed no crime. Sad, but I'm guilty too.....took my kids.
I remember this zoo. Was a pretty cool place in the late fifties.
It's great to know they are most likely kept in more normal environments now. The Living Desert in Palm Desert, CA (think Palm Springs area) is amazing! J

The sad music though!!!
the fish eye was so annoying. I like to watch videos that give a true perspective of the environment, and the fish eye made everything looked warped.
0:40 for fucks' sake i thought my house was falling down. easy on the bass, chief.

Oh yes I remember the Los Angeles abandoned haunted zoo very haunted indeed
That’s ending scared me so bad
Watched all your videos please do more
Thanks Ron! More on the way!
I would go here as a child. Wow, memories.
They should make this into a pedifile prison ,let everyone throw shit at them! I'd pay $50 to do that!
That jump scare me off the bed
5:19 i was not prepared for 😂
Doesn't look as old as I thought it would. I'm surprised it's not completely overgrown with plants and trees and weeds
So sad how small those cages were!!!! Pat

polar bear in the middle of los angeles. smart idea.
What is the name of this song? Beautiful!
I am so glad that standards have changed since this zoo was populated. This place makes my heart cry at the suffering the animals faced.
That polar bear broke my heart. That place was awful. Poor animals. Well the San Diego Zoo is Ike night and day to this place.
This is an ideal setting for the next SOTU. Also, US Congress would make much better rational decisions here than where they're at now.
Great editing
Zed's hideout in Police Academy 2! "My mother's name was Jughead!"

sad ... I wonder what ever became of the animals once the zoo decided to shut down...if any of them still existed. Depressing to live in a cage 😢
They sold them to McDonalds and they started the dollar menu with them.
lol...bear patties...
Remarkably untagged!
Id love to go ghost hunting there, i bet you'd get some unique EVPs
I just went here today, this is how it looks like, i went inside.
Your face looked kinda sad as you walked around. Did you feel sad at all?
More like a prison for the innocent animals. Zoos are so sad for animals. I cannot stand to see any birds in cages either...no matter what~ *BIRDS SHOULD NEVER BE IN CAGES!!!*
Imagine getting locked in a cage there
Today I went there and all the water was gone and I walked throw some cages but they demolished the little house that was there
I am glad that animal welfare in zoos have changed.

Sad how those poor animals have to live n those cages.

Makes me sad
What happened? How did it shut down?
Animals joined the demonic rat party and voted to build themselves a new zoo...
thanks
That's so sad.
Where is that located at ?
How do I get to were the cages are?
The only animal that belongs in a zoo is the zookeeper. #EmptyTheCages
👍
Thanks for the scare
Because of the stupid hurricane in 1963
I didn't see a jump.
i hope willow bank is not doing this
good thing it no longer exists really
How sad.
I wish the enclosures were smaller.
🔥👹🔥
No more zooz.
This made me very sad. I am an empath and I could feel the pain of the captive animals imprisoned for the entertainment of humans. So depressing.
Yea right...sure you did.
You didn't feel squat...
Sad, inhumane existence for zoo animals back then. In many cases not much better today.
OK VERY SAD
Poor Animals
No. Ten.
Podres
😥
