SARGEinc Vanlife Safari Van Build Ep. 7 - Fitting Big Boy Tires

- In this latest episode of my overland vanlife Safari van build I fit some big tires. They are P255/70/r17 or 31 inch Firestone Destination A/T. I bought them on Facebook Marketplace and got them mounted on the 1996 Chevy Impala rims that came on the van when I bought it.
I had to do some cutting and hammering on the fenders but nothing too crazy. Tires fit nice, and them plus the Journey's Off Road 3/5 lift has my stance looking 🔥.
Thanks for watching.

Wow :O) Look At What You Have Done To Make Your Own Journey 3 Years Later and The Work You Did To make It Happen! I am Truly Impressed! The Loss Of A Job Would Make Most People Climb Under A Rock With Depression But Your Valentines Day Self Love With The Chocolates and Hydrating Mask Was Awesome! $600 You Could Get a Day Of Pampering With A Happy Ending, Not From Me But! While Your Gone For a Mouth Who Takes Care Of The Dog? I Would Bet Dollars To Donuts That Whoever Fired You Never Did Anything In Life!
Thank you. Technically it's actually my sister's dog, but I'm the one that actually looks after him. I rent her basement suite, but the dog gets free run of the house because he needs to use my backdoor to go outside. I'm absolutely his favorite, and everyone(including my sister when she's honest) knows he's my dog. But since he's actually her dog, I can just leave leave for an extended period of time and she will look after him. My dog was the only thing I missed when I was gone last summer, lol.
Living in my sister's basement also allows me to take being fired a lot easier. I know I won't be homeless, and I have no dependents, so I don't really have to be that worried. Right now I'm actually exchanging labour for rent, so that takes the pressure off even more. I've been working hard around here, so I don't feel like a freeloader, so she's actually the one getting a good deal😂.
As for the person that fired me, it's a little more complicated than what it sounds like. While I definitely fired, the whole staff got fired because the business I was working at got shut down. Our original boss died unexpectedly, then his son took over temporarily but realized that he didn't want to run it moving forward. There's no hard feelings, and I'm still friends with him. He's actually building a 4x4 Safari van just like mine but better, since he has that inheritance money lol. You'll probably actually see his van on this channel at some point. It's jjst way easier to say fired than it is to explain the whole situation, I also find it more fun to say it too.
Thank you for the clip, and he asked you for a video clip explaining the engine and caretaker of a car. Keep it up. The Chevrolet is in 1992. With appreciation, and thank you.
Looks killer man
my van came to me with 17" Method wheels but I decided to step down to the factory 16" and a 30" tire - Pretty happy, no power loss or bad mileage.... Wanted more tire mass for airing down
I might end up going with smaller rims and tires eventually. I hear you with the more tire for airing down purposes. I might re think my tire situation before winter, slightly smaller tire might give me the ability to run chains if I need to.
Same I found nice 30x9.5-15 and they fit great
Great tires bro
I put 31" tires on my astro without a lift and all I had to do was cut off a bit of the front bumper
Subscribed!
Cut off more on the back side so when the body goes down it will hit if not
I definitely need too. It was fine while driving on the street, but I took the van offroading last weekend and it rubs pretty bad on the rear once the road gets proper rough.
