    Citalopram is an amazing medication. I’ve never slept so good in my life and I have energy and motivation during the day and get tired at night when I’m supposed to. Just upped it to 30mg because I felt I could get a tiny bit more out of it in terms of treating depression, but my panic attacks are gone and can’t see needing to go any higher. I’d say it’s a miracle but it’s just science and neurochemicals 😁

    Thank you! Absolutely correct about discontinuation syndrome for these medications. Getting off Zoloft was difficult, but Paxil was a nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone. Now, whenever I feel the need to start up with an SSRI, its Fluoxetine all the way, and the lowest possible dose I can take to get some benefit.

    By far the best intro to SSRI. But that people forget that those at it best have a moderate antidepressant effect, compared to Mirtazapine, venlefaxine and duloxetine.

    • @timothyayers8596
      @timothyayers8596 Месяц назад

      They don’t even have a moderate response. They barely move the Hamilton score at all. They are placebo. Btw the so called snri drugs barely raise norepinephrine levels so they to are mostly SSRIs. Effexor hits mu opioid receptors and that is what is likely behind us extremely minimal improvement over the standard.

    I was on lexapro and I really felt like it worked for me, but once I started to see a psychiatrist she ran a generic test showing lexapro was in the middle portion (yellow section) for me and the pristiq showed it coming back as a better one (green section) along with others but I don’t seem to feel right in pristiq. Actually it was much worse, it ruined her brains and even surgery was done after 3 years of Paxil use. It was obviously due of Paxil because extreme weight gain started few months after 1st dose of it. But doctors push her to keep to use Paxil even after surgery because there is no scientifical evidence that it can ruin brains. And I see her problems start to come back. I told her to ask doctor to stop use it but she doesn't listen. The offical reason of her brain problems (water retention or sth like that)is still unknown, even doctors don't know but they refuse to tell it is from Paxil. But I saw how she gradually changed in a time she started to use it. Before she was always fit, yes depressed, yes anxious, strange eating habits, alcohol addict, but she was still the same in a time she used it and even worse, except alcohol use which she almost stopped because it was not allowed. I don't want to say that all antidepressants are bad. I know people who use Lexapro, for example. Yes it made them much weird comparing the time before, but nothing like Paxil.
