I think the pancake batter needs oil. Use the waffle recipe on the box if there is one. Also roll the blueberries in the dry flour and add them after all the other ingredients are mixed together. This helps the blueberries to disperse rather sink. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Susan's right; always dredge fruit in flour first. And I always use cooking or baking spray on silicone molds because foods will stick in them, just like with metal baking pans.
Recommendation: when using tin foil in a pressure cooker it can build up moisture under it and put more water in your food, place a paper towel over the mold and then the foil on top of that. It helps a lot.
Nice to see more about different accessories for the Instant Pot. Tip for adding blueberries to your pancake bites. Take about a tablespoon of the dry mix and toss the blueberries in it. It helps them be suspended within the batter instead of sinking or rising, and grease the mold with oil. Some cooking sprays degrade the silicone. 😊💙
Great recipes and camera work. So many videos I've seen don't show you what they are doing, only their faces. Thank you for showing the ingredients and what you are doing step by step.
Recently I cooked stuffed bell peppers in the pot. I used raw burger in the bell peppers. It took 9 minutes and a quick release. The burger was cooked. Because of this I think you could cook the mini meat loaves in way less time.
I just made the blueberry pancake bites and they were fantastic!!! I pre sprayed the eggy bite mold with nonstick cooking spray and after cooking they popped right out whole and clean and were absolutely delicious. Thank you for making the video. ❤️❤️❤️
When I make my egg cups, I lightly spray the cups, then put my fixings (ham, onions, peppers, etc. basically what you like in an omelette) in the bottom of the cup, pour the egg to within 1/4" from the top. After I pour in the egg, I use the blunt end of a chopstick or skewer to lightly stir to remove air bubbles. I cover loosely with foil and don't use a paper towel. They always come out perfectly. Cook 8 min, natural release 8-10 min.
I have to agree with the last two comments. Spray the mold for the pancakes and coat the blueberries in som flour. I also would not pop them out until they sit for a few minutes without the foil in them. I bet you will have success on your next try.
Yay for Instant Pot recipes! I've had mine for close to a year and just now bought an egg bites mold (haven't even used it yet) so finding this video is great timing. I hope the brand I bought will release ok with cooking spray. Crossing fingers! Hopefully the mini corn dog idea will go over well with the grandkids. I wonder if it would work out ok to stab the hotdogs with bamboo cocktail picks and then carefully cover with foil. Littles love food on sticks. I'm hoping to find lots of uses for those molds to help with food portioning for me. Thank you for your ideas and now I have to look through your videos to see how you got a cute cover for your IP.
I think you are doing wonderful things for your kids for breakfast! I was one of five and breakfast was my favorite meal of the day…my Mom used to make pancakes on a griddle…she would always make them in a alphabet letter…we could pick the letter! I wish we had had an Instant Pot then!! Keep up the trial and errors that’s how we learn….tips are always welcome but fun with your kids is more important 🥰
Thanks I love your corn dog recipe. So quick & easy 💜 Plus your the first person I saw that’s using a measuring cup to make pouring & filling so much easier !
I just bought this and trying as well have found that with egg bites fillings not to pack it and push it down just fill with fillings and pour in the egg, as well as the spray oil!! I have been contemplating the meatball challenge!! 😂😂😂 it’s so fun bringing interest to cooking again!! 👏👏👏
As others have mentioned, dredge the blueberries either in a little flour or pancake mix powder and don't add them until the last minute. Also, the batter looks a little too thin. Maybe a little less water. Recommendation from another channel is to lay a sheet of paper towel over the mold before you wrap in foil to absorb excess condensation. Keep trying, you'll find you perfect balance.
The best spray for silicone is Bakers Joy with flour (or Pam w/flour) Even regular spray doesn't work as well as the one with flour. And let stuff cool a bit in the mold/pan -then they will pop right out.
Hi. I watched the recipe making the blueberry pancake bites. Have you tried letting the batter sit in thee bowl for 5-10 minutes before cooking it? I know when I make pancakes I do this and it make them come out fluffier. Just curious your thoughts on this. Thanks for the recipes. I am going to give them a go.
I like your honesty and I’m new to instant pot I have 9 grandkids and I’m going to try all 3 recipes I would love to see more using the egg bite molds is there a cookbook that just has recipes for using egg bite molds and a instant pot
Thank you for this video and for being so honest. I just ordered me a set to go with my new instant pot, AND I just subscribed to your channel 👍🏾👍🏾 win win!
I coat the molds (metal and silicon) with coconut oil. It works as a mold release, and is yummy! Try it with eggs, meat, cakes, or anything...if you don't like the coconut oil, any cooking oil is worth a try. Try different oils for different things, you'll find what you like.
Try putting a paper towel bettween the top of the mold and the foil. Make sure the foil is tight!! This would be helpful for any recipe you do in the bites mold as it will absorb excess moisture. I agree with Susan Lowe that the pancake batter needs oil or butter.
Thank you for sharing everything looks delicious! Definatly going to do the meatloaf one to use with spaghetti 😊I'm sure you've already tried this but with the blueberries if maybe you add them like you did the hot dogs (placing them in instead of mixing) and only like 3-4 blueberries since there so juicy
I used the same pancake mix you did and mine came out under cooked since it was really runny :/ Instead I used the brand Krusteaz with some chocolate chips and they came out great! I'll have to give the Kodiak mix another go so it doesn't go to waste :)
I'm going to make the corn dog bites & them I'm going to place them in my Air Fryer to get the "fried corn dog" crisp on the outside.....I've thought of doing the same thing with the pancake bites, which I'm hoping will make it like a crisper "donut hole" on the outside??? Hoping it works!!
On the pancake one. First you need to spray the mold with a little Pam because pancakes really stick. Second you need to put a half sheet of paper towel on the top then the foil. It helps with condensation.
For the first recipe I think you need to oil each container, and maybe add a little melted butter to the mix. Love your recipes!!, i just bought an Instant Pot and I am scared to death of it!!,!
Recipes look yummy! Would the lid for the silicone mold work just as well as foil? I hate to waste foil each time if I could just use the silicone lid. Also, how did these mini meatloaf taste?
I thought the same thing every time she wrapped foil on the mold. Great question! Guess I'll have to experiment and find out the answer to the question 😁
"Do not put lid on when baking in the oven, pressure cooker or microwave. Lid is only to use in the freezer and for storage." This is directly from the product description on Amazon.
If you're still working out the recipe, while those measuring cups are cute, i wonder how accurate they are? Does spraying the mold help? I wonder if there is a way to stack those molds? Cute dress on your instantpot!
I think her pancake mix is way too watery, I too buy the kodiak power cakes mix and it turns out way thicker for me. Also the blueberries have a lot of water content in it
i am thinking the fresh blueberries gave off steam too so maybe why it exploded. i would try blanching the blue berries (you can do this ahead of time and save) so they are already cooked somewhat...blueberries color the batter, which i don't necessarily mind, but if you do then put the blueberries in the powdered mix first, dredge them, and it supposed to keep the color from leeching out to the batter. also seeing they blew out of the mould, wonder if you used a wee bit less of the ingredients would keep them in the mould? no matter...if it tastes good it isn't a problem for me.
For the sticking problem, what would happen if you lined the bites cups with paper cupcake holders? Yes, they would get steamed up but they might still hold the little cupcakes together and able to be lifted out. ??? Just a guess.
Questions : one comment talked about cooking spray but I did not see you do that... did you? Second question , how did the meatloaf taste? You did say, where the other two you said you made it a few times and the taste was good. Thanks for sharing.
I spray my molds and I found molds on amazon that have lids that are silicon so they can go into the instant pot or ninja and you don't have to use foil.
You should look into smaller blueberries if your primary use is muffins and pancakes. My exp most blueberries I get are big and when heated they explode and or leak the blueberry juice messes with the consistency. I am not sure where to find the smaller verities but my understanding they are the more standard verify plant wise dispute what you see instores
@@LifebyVanessa yeah I'm having trouble with things releasing as well. I spray everything. They just had to narrow the opening to make them egg shaped. 😖 Frozen and fresh blueberries will have the same amount of water. Have you ever tried dehydrated/freeze dried. I think this could partially be a too much liquid problem. I know with rice I have to throw out the measurements and go with 1 to 1 water to rice or it's too soupy. That normally water evaporates while cooking on a stove. Not as much in an oven but it still does a bit. I think I'm going to to try reducing the recipe liquid a bit and see if that helps. Also these look delicious.
The batter is thin and when I saw you were using Kodiak cakes I didn't think it would work out. I would rather make a homemade pancake mix or get something like Aunt Jemima or Hungry Jack. Aunt Jemima as one that is whole wheat. But Kodiak cakes have protein added and a bunch of other stuff. Also if you put the blueberries on the bottom the pancake batter should not stick because the blueberries will allow them to come off. I would also brush the molds with either oil or melted butter. I do mini meatloaves which I called meatloaf muffins in my muffin tray so that they can be Frozen and used for a meal and or sandwiches. You have a ninja foodi and you're in love with the instant pot?!
Thanks for sharing I think the juices in the blueberries are your problem. In the mold there is nowhere for that steam to go and they are exploding. I think you need a drier add in. Anyway, I will be looking forward to your next video until then please take care and God bless 💕!
The blueberry bites need less liquid. When I saw you pouring it into the molds I knew they weren't going to unmold well. Blueberries have liquid, especially frozen. You may need the batter as thick as waffle batter & a little more leavening too. Increase the time (3-4 mins maybe) to give thicker batter time to rise and bake. Dredging the blueberries in flour before adding to pre-mixed batter will help them stay suspended in the batter so they will evenly distribute the juice they release. Fold them in gently right before you pour into mold.
Is that plastic? I have seen videos of people using pans and stuff in the instant pot. What all can you use in it? Just wondering cuz I bought an instant pot a couple of years ago. Used it twice and then packed it up and put it in the shed. I never really learned how to use it. But my oven shortet out so I need another way to cook
I've seen one where she places a paper towel over it first & then covers it with foil over that & the paper towel sucks up most of the condensation!! But mine came out, definitely cooked through, but "gooey" instead of just moist or fluffy :(
I think the pancake batter needs oil. Use the waffle recipe on the box if there is one. Also roll the blueberries in the dry flour and add them after all the other ingredients are mixed together. This helps the blueberries to disperse rather sink. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Love that you are showing real life examples❤️

I spray my mold as well and have even used silicone lid that came with it and my dark chocolate chip pancake bites turned out great
Tracy gryder I was curious about this! Do you seal the lid or just leave it loose on top of the mold?
@@MsTsumka you can put the lid in there? interesting.
