    I'm pretty new to this and so far I've heard that the less faces you have the better it's for animations and games. Your model has 25 million faces. My question is: for what do you use these models with such high number of faces for? Static shots? Oh and thank you for sharing!

    • @iceseic
      @iceseic 3 года назад +9

      Just for render shot, for animation and game you need to retopo the model and bring back the small detail using normal map you got from previously high poly model

      It's a little bit advance, make sure in low poly and subdivision level 1 you have enough quads for the area that you want to apply pores in higher subdivision level. when you subdivide your model that area will subdivide more and you will have higher quality details.

    • @chitamule9040
      @chitamule9040 3 года назад +2

      Sculpting unfortunately needs the high poly count, that level of small detail won't hold up with a low poly count. The alternative method if you don't have a powerful enough computer (the powerful computer part only applies to Blender's Sculpt Mode by comparison Zbrush is shockingly more efficient with its resources) would be to paint them in as a bump map.
      UV wrap your head, setup your textures and go into texture paint mode and paint away. You can even use the alphas that CG Sphere uses in texture paint mode to paint your skin pores.

      just use a roughness map by converting the base color node into black and white with color ramp and then bake it onto a image texture and connect it to the roughness bsdf and edit it manually with custom mask brush that you can make from the "Textures" menu
